4.0 330 ml bottle. Murky black with a beige colored head. Burnt malt, cigar, tobacco, lemon zest, burnt tyres, ashes, orange, cocoa, toffee, vanilla. Intense bitterness, some malty sweetness. Full bodied, slick oily texture, soft carbonated, long intense bitter finish. A classic Imperial Stout.

4.5 Found out of bottle from a store in Tarnow, Poland. Pours a dark black with a dark tan foam. Cocoa nibs aroma. Delicious sweet cocoa flavor. Delicious winter option.

4.1 Classica Imperial Porter dal colore nero intenso, poca schiuma, corpo caldo e pieno, aromi di caffè tostato e cacao.

3.8 Picked up at an SAQ in Montreal. An added label marks this at 8.5% rather than the standard label 10%. Pours inky black with a ring of brown head. Nose of coffee, cocoa and a touch of booze. Taste is strong coffee, some solid malty bitterness, chocolate and a hint of booze. The bitterness build on the finish. Decent but that bitterness, not so much.

4.0 Botella de 33 cl. Fecha de consumo preferente 24/06/2031. Color negro con buena carbonatación y abundante espuma. Aroma a cacao, café, malta tostada. Sabor a frutos secos, cacao, café, pan tostado. Cuerpo medio alto y equilibrada entre dulzor y amargor, sabrosa, muy rica y bien hecha, clásica imperial stout, excelente.

4.8 Genialne po prostu. Idealnie czekoladowe i palone, do tego ziołowy chmiel zaskakująco wyczuwalny, wyjątkowo długi finisz kawowo-czekoladowy i paloność przyjemnie długo na podniebieniu. Idealny RIS.

3.7 Sharp and bitter forward balanced. Medium body. Medium roast. A bit astringent, good, not great. Gollem raasmteg Amsterdam. June 2022 (3.7) Again but on nitro at Arendsnest, same opinion, the nitro isn’t so perceptable

4.0 Bouteille datée du 02/10/2019, bue après plus d'un an et demi. Superbe robe noire et surmontée d'un col de mousse beige et onctueux s'estompant lentement en laissant un lourde dentelle. Arômes de malt torréfié, cacao, quelques baies confites mais avec sucre modéré, noix grillées, un peu de café, houblons amérisants citronnés. En bouche, forte entrée de malt torréfié, café brun éthiopien finement moulu, cacao mi-corsé, bois de chêne et pelure d'amande. Suite bien corsée et amère, cacao encore bien présent ainsi que le café, alcool sec. Finale sur goût de café et malt torréfié, encore amère avec la présence des houblons qui viennent solidifier le tout. Texture veloutée qui devient collante, corps mince à moyen. Très bon imperial stout mais peut-être trop dans le spectre amer qui enlève à la complexité. Plus de rondeur aurait été la bienvenue.

4.2 Aromas of molasses, black fruit, tobacco, dark chocolate and coffee adorn a complex olfactory. Black and opaque liquid with a dense and creamy foam that persists for a long time. A well-roasted mouth starter is accompanied by a warm alcohol and let pierce notes of dark chocolate, roasted toast, molasses and strong coffee. This palette is emphasized by a finish with intense roasting bitterness. The body is ample, fluffy and alcohol is not too present and integrates harmoniously with the rest of the palette. Carbonation is fair enough for this type of beer. A very bitter imperial stout, complex, roasted to the extreme and a little deficient in fruity esters. Still very nice. Des arômes de mélasse, de fruits noirs, de tabac, de chocolat noir et de café agrémentent un olfactif bien complexe. Liquide noir et opaque avec une mousse dense et crémeuse qui persiste bien longtemps. Une entrée de bouche bien torréfiée s’accompagne d’une chaleur d’alcool et laisse percer des notes de chocolat noir, de rôties bien grillées, de mélasse et de café fort. Cette palette s’agrémente d’une finale à l’amertume de torréfaction intense. Le corps est ample, moelleux et l’alcool n’est pas trop présent et s’intègre harmonieusement au reste de la palette. La carbonatation est assez juste pour ce type de bière. Une stout impériale très amère, complexe, torréfiée à l’extrême et un peu déficiente d’esters fruités. Tout de même très agréable. 4.0 Aroma; roasted malts, black chocolate, nutty bark oil, chocolate sauce, dark tart, prunes, liquorice. Look; beige head, on pit black body. Taste; roasted malts, black nut fudge, chocolate, cacao, mocca, tart, coffee, mocca, liquorice, and finishes nicely lingering the dark way. Feel; solid body and okay low co². Overall; nice sipper. 3.9 Intense aroma of burnt malt, coffee and chocolate. Black in color with a thick brown foam. The taste is rich chocolate with notes of burnt malt and brown bread crust. Aftertaste with a slight bitterness. The body is dense, the carbonation is small.

4.1 Pours pitch black with a thin creamy caramel colored head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, cocoa. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, peat, hazelnuts. Full body, soft carbonation, long alcoholic finish

4.0 A 330ml bottle, bottled on 4th November 2013. Enjoy within 25 years. Poured into a snifter glass. It was black in colour with no head and no lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, with slight wafer notes. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, caramel, nutty, dried dark fruit notes, with a lasting dark chocolate bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall good aroma and flavours make for an enjoyable sipper on a cool winter night.

3.6 Bottle. Dark, pitch black color, no head. Roated, coffee, dark chocolate aroma. Bone dry, high bitter taste, prickly warm alcohol. Black, bitter coffee, dark chocolate, roasted barley aftertaste. Thick, oily texture, no carbonation.

4.4 Thuis uit een flesje. Zwart met bruin schuim. Caramel, koffie in aroma. In de smaak komt daar chocolade bij. Volle smaak, heerlijk.

4.0 Negra, de espuma efímera. Cuerpo ligero. Achocolata y licorosa. Algo de humo. Ciruelas pasas. En boca sedosa. Ligeramente amarga. Un poco más de cuerpo equilibraría su contenido alcohólico, aunque esta muy bien integrado. También puede haberle afectado los 5 años de guarda, que seguro no ha sido en condiciones óptimas. 4.3 Bottle from Mitra in Gorinchem, The Netherlands. The beer is black colored with a small cream colored head. Carbonation is good. The aroma is malts, caramel, dried fruits, roasted malts, citrus, nuts, toffee, coffee, chocolate and spices. The finish is full bodied and light sweet with caramel, roasted malts and dried fruits. It goes to pleasant bitterness, with chocolate, nuts, coffee and spices. The finish is dry, bitter and long.

4.0 Aroma a café tostado, sabor a cacao. Buena retención.

4.1 Black body with tan head. Aroma is roasted caramel malts dried fruits liquorice. Taste is roasted malts fruits caramel coffee. Aftertaste is is nice balanced

3.8 Dichotomous if that is a word. Best bouquet in a beer ever. Nuts and biscuits and toasted cocnut and almond liquor. The pour is obsidian with the densest tan head. But the flavour doesnt back it up. Disagreeable alcohol with a nutty but not sweet flavour. Boozy thin finish.

5.0 Taste like happiness

5.0 10.000 beers done. 0,7 l bottle from 2008 year - 11,5 years aged beer - special thanks to fonefan! Black and brown, excellent coffee foam. Aroma is very cool, rye bread, burning, whisky, chocolate, raisins, dried fruit, very soft, balanced, prunes, light smoke. Taste: soft, complex, caramel, dried fruits, bread with dried fruits, prunes, sweetish, whisky, a little iodine, ashes, old port wine, great brew.

4.2 Zwart bier met mooie stevige bruine schuimkraag. Smaak is licht zoet en bitter met iets van koffie, bittere chocolade en wat rook. Verder sporen van noten te ontdekken.

4.1 Zwarte kleur met heel dunne, donker bruine schuim. Neus is van medium+ intensiteit. Koffie, noten, puur chocola, gist Mondgevoel is vol-, bitter en met een medium carbonatie. Persistente afdronk die gedomineerd is door koffie smaken.
