4.5Bottle shared for Timo’s birth, vintage 2013. Black with nice tan head that leaves a beautiful ring of tiny bubbles. Lots of sweet chocolate, vanilla, sweet red fruits, coffee, toffee, sweet berries, molasses, light bourbon and spices. Over medium sweet, touch of sourness and soft roasted bitter finish. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation. Super nice balance here, massive beer, really really good. If it had a bit more body it would be out of this world.
4.2Delicious imperial stout loaded with bourbon flavor. A bit hot for its age (almost 3 years). Lots of complex flavored. Might have a little oxidation after 3 years.

Nose is heavy, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and vanilla, moderate wood and bourbon. Taste is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a lasting roasted, chocolate, vanilla. warming finish. Body is medium to full, texture is sticky to creamy, carbonation is flat to soft.

4.133 cl bottle from Tallinn. A pitch black beer, no head. The nose has notes of soy sauce, roasted malt, bourbon, and some vanilla. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of smoked wood, vanilla, and bourbon, as well as medium notes of roasted malt and coffee. Alcoholic dry finish with well presented flavors.
4.1April 3, 2015. Bottle at home, bottled january 28, 2013.
Black with a very small tan head. Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla dried fruits, chocolate. Taste is medium sweet with vanilla, dried fruits, caramel and soft bitterness. Finish is light bitter sweet with bourbon hints. Medium to full bodied, very soft carbonation.
4.1Pours a dark blackish beer with almost no head. What you would expect from a ba beer. On the aroma you definitely pick up the bourbon also some coffee, espresso like aromas. You also get the bourbon in the taste but not too overwhelming. Also lots of sweetness at the front and very bitter at the back. A little warmth from the alcohol at the back of the troat. Aftertaste is fenomenal and lingers in my mouth for some time. Love this beer.

From notes. Tasted in early December 2012 from a waxed and capped 7oz nip bottle, shared with Curtis. Pours nearly black with no real head, but some bubbly brown lace. The nose is roasted and dark with coffee, dark chocolate, and plenty of oaky vanilla. The flavor is very dry, with coffee, dark chocolate, and roast, with the vanilla, coconut, and maple bourbon rounding everything out. The body is full with light carbonation and a long dark chocolate and coconut, vanilla bourbon finish. This is a very good BA Stout.
4.3330ml bottle at home. Black color with beige head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, coffee, wood, dark fruits, raisins, alcohol . Sweet and bitter taste like the aroma. Full body, oily with soft carbonation.

Mohagany body with a thin beige cap. Bourbon, oak, vanilla aroma. Sweet and chocolate tones followed by malt and vanilla. Light to medium in body with soft carbonation. Delicious.
4.2Bottle. Black colour with small brown head. Roasted, bourbon, wood aroma. Sweet, bourbon, wood, roasted, dark chocolate taste. Medium to full bodt.
4.033cl bottle from Erzbierschof. Compared to the Hemel & Aarde Bourbon BA which I had just two days ago, this one here wins in many ways: The nose has more barrel aroma, the taste is much more refined and full, and the palate is much more enjoyable through it’s long and complex finish. Tastes a bit too much of alcohol though. Still, a strong beer that I enjoyed very much!
3.3This is heavy, chocolately, creamy and a bit caramelly. But beneth that there is a fresh almost soury/bitter taste that compromises the beer. It’s therefore not as rounded and balanced as it could have been.
4.3Bottle, tasted 2014-12-17. Black color with small head. Fresh-fruity, oak tanines, coffee and chocolate. Something fresh in there which makes it very different, can’t quite describe it. Spicy, full-bodied imperial stout taste with additional freshness. A good one, and a different one! 8-4-8-4-16 Bottle, tasted 2023-07-23. Very bourbon, just a dash of soy sauce, good caramel, good vanilla, chocolate. Aged gracefully! 9-4-9-4-17
4.233cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a nice brown head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, bourbon and cocoa. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter, Body is full, texture slick, carbonation average. Finish is well balanced. Highly enjoyably beer.
4.4Bottled 28 Jan 13, drank 21 Nov 14. Almost black with small tan head. Lots of bourbon and oak with the dark chocolate, mocha, cream, vegemite. The taste is fantastic. Delicate balance between the sweet bourbon, treacle, cream, chocolate, a little espresso and the bitter/dry ashiness, a hint of hops and the dry oak. Nice stickiness. Really good BA imperial stout. Reminds me a lot of the Struise Cuvee Delphine.
3.8Unknown bottle date. Pours oily black with no head. Aroma is fig, plum, raisin, ashtray, campfire, cocoa. Taste is similar with more chocolate covered raisin notes coming through for me. Smoky and distinct. Smooth and worth sipping over a long while.
3.311% version from 2013
330 ML bottle
Brownish black pour, settled black. Quarter finger light brown head that falls to a collar. Just some spotty lacing.
Nose is charred oak, malted chocolate milk, soft vanilla, and toasted coconut.
Taste thin for the ABV. Lots of barrel notes. Vanilla, coconut, caramel, chocolate, and coco powder. Some char and a long lasting almond joy after taste. Thin in the mouth but a solid dry finish. ABV is well reserved and doubt this would make it to 25 years.
3.9Bottle vintage 2013 courtesy of tom10101, thanks man! Black pour with a finger of light mocha head. Aroma is bourbon, ash, chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts, ash, chocolate, light vanilla, finish is bitter, mouthfeel is bit thin for such a big beer, carbonation is medium. Very tasty.
4.0Bottle thanks to Christian. Bottled Jan. 2013. Pours a dark brown zwarte color with a medium bruin color. A big sweet woody nose, vanilla. The flavor is big bourbon, I don’t remember much about the old Wild Turkey, but this is about right, more fireball than sweet bourbon. Charred wood, vanilla, coffee. Light fruit. Oak. Woody all through. uitstekend. Quite mellow in many ways.
4.4Bottle from Erzbierschof - Black color with a fast disappearing brown head, no lacing - Aroma roasted, coffee, cacao, soy sauce, tobacco, red fruits, prune, dried apricot - Flavor is sweet roasted malt, toasted bread, cacao, vanilla, woody, tobacco, bourbon, alcohol - Full body, light carbonation, sweet & silky, light bitterness, amazing sweet coffee finish - This beer is incredible, young but amazing, i can’t imagine how well it can aged, powerful roasted and chocolate malt body, smooth and silky, wahoo
4.18/IX/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - bottled: 28/I/13 (2014-974)
Clear dark brown to black beer, aery big bubbled beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: alcohol, more alcohol, dark chocolate, some coffee, vanilla, caramel, roast, rye bread. MF: soft to no carbon, full to medium body. Taste: sourish start, alcohol, lots of coffee, some bourbon, overripe banana, bit sweet, some coffee. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, cocoa powder, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, alcohol, lots of coffee, bitter, dark chocolate, hoppy ending. And what the f*%£ are these gelatinous chunks at the bottom of the bottle?
4.2Bottle. Pours pitch, oily black with a beautiful nut brown head. Aroma has vanilla, cinnamon, bourbon, caramel sweetness, dark roast, port wine, figs. Taste has more chocolate, coffee, some sweet licorice, but still lots of these vanilla-bourbon-coconut flavors. Extremely easy drinkable, sweet stout. Alcohol is very well hidden. Fat, gentle body and low carbonation. Yum!
4.4Een plens ruwe Brent olie in je glas, zwarte vingerverf. Ziet er doods uit. Nauwelijks schuim. Zachtzoete bitterheid. Een italiaanse espressobar met een bakje pure chocoladerozijnen. Dit concurreert met port. Kleine slokjes grote smaken. Ik ben om!
