0.33 l bottle from 'De Molen', bottled in September 2016. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, roasty, rather smoky aroma of peat, iodine, dark chocolate, licorice and some coffee. Quite sweet, malty, roasty, fairly smoky taste of dark chocolate, licorice, lots of peat and iodine, light coffee and some vanilla/bourbon, followed by a long, rather roasty-bitter, smoky, earthy-dry and a little boozy finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Delicious, complex and intense RIS, great beer to finish 2017 with!
Bottle, 330 ml, shared with Max and JFK10000. Brown, medium light brown head. Quite smokey, chocolate, roasted malts, some vanilla, bourbon, very smooth, nice balance, sweet. Medium to full bodied. Great.
330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma reveals a nice smoky and bourbon character upfront, with a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is very complex, bringing out lovely smoke character, accentuated by bourbon barrels, with toasted malt. Finishes peaty and bourbony. Wonderful.
Bottle, shared with the brewery boys. Inky near black pour with deep amber highlights and a low brown head. Surprisingly smokey/peaty for a bourbon barrel, with a lot of residual sugars.
Sampled from draft at Borefts 2017. Pours black, with a tan head. Bourbon, vanilla, light peat, vanilla, oak, chocolate, molasses.
W aromacie mocno torfowe z wyraźnie zaznaczoną beczką. W smaku bardzo przyjemnie czekoladowe, z posmakiem burbonu i beczkową wanilią.
BBF 16-09-16 Z: bourbon, torf, slodko. Miodzio. S: torf, bourbon słodycz, czekolada, finisz rozplywajacy się bourbon z czekolada deserowa.
Bottle at home. Very dark brown, beige creamy head. Roasted malty dried and vinous fruits, toffee, smoked bacon, peated whiskey, vanilla, leather. Good body, low carbonation, soft mouthfeel.
Bottle 330ml (BB 16.09.2041). Completely black with big light-brown head. There are chocolate, liqueur and sweet vanilla note in aroma. Sweet and chocolate in taste. Full body with oily consistency but a little bit too much carbonated. There is also a delicate note of booze in aftertaste which burns in the throat. Biterness medium to high, roasty and a little bit alcohol. Generaly good, sweet RIS.
Gitzwart, donker beige schuimkraag....foamy. schuimkraag blijft ook nog lang, redelijk wat koolzuur en mooi lacing van het schuim.
Aroma: Gerookte mout, roasty, donkere mout, chocolade, koffie, iets zoetig, vanille en bourbon.
Smaak: Vol roasty, gebrande koffie met een licht zuurtje en daarna juist weer zoet. Precies genoeg peated malts om het pittig te maken. Iets zoethout en ziltig. Fruitige bourbon, vanille , oak. Donkere chocolade en een aardige alcohol warmte en goed bitter. Alle smaken en geuren mooi in balans .... belangrijk met rookmout.
Volle body, voldoende koolzuur, zacht en romig, afdronk is zoetig en bourbon met een stevige roasty bitter. Iets droog maar ook iets plakkerig. Topper!

33cl bottle. Deep dark brown with a small brown head. Chocolate, coffee, bourbon, smoke, vanilla, peat and dried fruits. Complex, warm and good.
bottle, pours dark brown with brown head. Intensive aroma of vanilla, bourbon, peat, smoke, chocolate, after warming up some red fruits and a light soy sauce appear. Very smooth and well balanced with medium to high chocolaty sweetness and a roasty bitter finish. Full bodied sticky, sweet and extremly good drinkable. Alcohol very well hidden.
Chocolate, coffee, bourbon, smoke, peat, vanilla and coconut in nose. Pours black with tan head. Taste is sweet with chocolate, pralines, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, smokiness. Medium bitter finish, soft carbo, smooth texture, full to average body. Overall excellent stuff.
Butelka. Intensywna nuta torfu, po ogrzaniu dochodzi waniliia. W smaku torf, sporo wanilii. Finisz dlugi mocno czekoladowy. Ciekawe połączenie.

Barwa czarna nieprzejrzysta z umiarkowan? br?zow? pian?. W smaku spora s?odycz, wedzonka i wanilia plus kokos. Alkohol ma?o wyczuwalny. Goryczka stosowana, przyjemna. Bardzo dobry balans. Kragla pe?nia, umiarkowane wysycenie i lekko kwaskowy i czekoladowy finisz.
wat een perfect samenspel tussen de imperial stout, rookmout en bourbon rijping, allen goed waarneembaar maar geen die de aandacht teveel opeist. prachtige symfonie, waar je nog een uur van kunt nagenieten.

Weinig aroma. Smaak licht gerookt en bittertje. Cacao en koffie. De bourbon zit ver weg en dus subtiel aanwezig. Licht plakkerig mondgevoel.

0,33l Bottle. mPours with a fat black color and a small brown head, which disappears very quick. The nose ist smokey like a bonfire with coffee and slightly vanilla from the toasted cask. Taste is roasted malt, dark coffee and hints of vanilla and caramel . Very nice mouthfeel.

Nice smokiness and some peat aromas hide almost all of the bourbon BA but that makes the vanilla and coconut even more subtle and tasty.
Zwart kleurig bier met een creme kleurige schuimkraag.
Aroma: geroosterde mout, rook, soja saus, bourbon.
Smaak: geroosterde mout, rook, bourbon, zoet, eik, vanille, soja saus en wat zout. Alcohol zeer goed verborgen, weinig koolzuur en klein bittertje.
Wygląd: czarne, nieprzejrzyste.
Piana: ładna, beżowa, drobnopecherzykowa, redukuje sie do obraczki pozostawiajac bardzo ladny lacing. Po zakreceniu TEKU odbudowuje sie.
Aromat: wedzonka, masa słodkiej czekolady podbita aromatami beczki: wanilii i kokosa. Szlachetny alkohol w tle i drewniane nuty.
Smak: słodka czekolada, wedzonka i wanilia.
Goryczka: srednia.
Wysycenie: niskie.
Niezawodny De Molen. Swietnie ułożony wedzony RIS z ukrytym alkoholem, bardzo gladki. Az chce sie wziac kolejny łyk. Szanuje !!!
Tap at Taphouse. Huge aroma of peat and smoke. Taste is very sweet for an imperial stout. Not really my style. But good none the less.
Once upon a time I’ve drunk it one friend tasting panel. Can’t remember exact details of aroma and taste except that this beer was very, very good
330ml bottle from The Gull. Bottled 2016-09-16. Pours a dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma is peaty, some nuts. Taste is medium sweet, burnt malt, peaty. Good stuff.
W aromacie na pierwszym planie wędzonka, gdzieś z tyłu beczka. Wygląd? Po przelaniu do sniftera wygląda świetnie. Potężna beżowa piana szybko znika zostawiając jedynie lekką obrączkę. Smak tego piwa to największa jego zaleta. Jednym słowem - zacnie. Połączenie słodkości wędzonki i nut beczki zawsze mi się podobało. To jest właśnie to co tygryski lubią najbardziej.
Black color with a beige head, medium retention and some lacework. Aroma has a good presence of smokyness with some coffee notes. Flavor is light bittery, smoke, coffe taste and some peat in the aftertaste with light sweet hints. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel.
