2.5 Bottle shared by TomHendriksen @ tasting. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized light brown colored head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is (Dutch): "hamka's" and smoke. Tastes about the same. Smoked and hamka's. Not my kind of beer.
4.0 Pours black with a medium frothy tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, heavily roasted malt, roasted nuts, brown sugar. Taste is chocolatey and roasted with slight nutty notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Quite good.
3.8 Bottle, 330 ml, shared with JFK10000 and Max. Pours dark brown, medium tan head. Roasted. Chocolate, cocoa, licorice, warming, heavy sweet. Medium bodied. Smoked. Lacks body.
4.0 330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Massive bubbly, tan-coloured head over a deep dark brown body. Clingy lacing. Promising aroma of smoked malts and chocolate. Comprehensive taste character with smoked malts, dried fruits, wood and chocolate. Warming bitter malt-fruity ending. Solid bodied and smooth in the mouth. Enjoying Saturday afternoon sipper. (Tromsø 14.10.2017).
3.2 Bottle thanks to Xebbe. Dark brown color, small beige head, sediments. Smoked aromas with ash, meat, wood and licorice. Bittersweet taste with smoke, tar, licorice, coffee and toast.
3.6 Taki typowo De Molenowy, lekko wędzone klimaty w tle, nuta sosu sojowego, i tak charakteryustyczne ciemne owoce w tle.
3.8 14th August 2017 Semi opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. A few floaters in suspension. Smooth palate, a little soft, modest fine carbonation. Smooth chocolatey malts, little malt cream. Well integrated smooth smoke never makes you wince. Mellow dark fruits. Some bourbon biscuit. Mild finish. Very smooth and drinkable, about as good as a smoked beer can get for me.
3.7 Bottle. Black with almost no head. Aroma and taste is dark fruits, licorice, peated and some alcohol. Tart and a bit sweet ending.
3.0 Bottle seemed poorly sealed, as the neck shattered pretty easily. Managed to save the liquid, thankfully. Jet black. No head at all. Aroma of dark fruit and sherry. Taste is plum, brown sugar, and toffee. Boozy.
3.6 33cl Bottle from Vonk. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, some roasted malts, hint of sweet smokey malt, caramel, hint of leather. Flavour is quite sweet, very malty, sweet dark fruits, lots of milk chocolate, just light smoke, sweet malts, bittersweet finish. Medium to full bodied. It’s tasty, but not as smoky as I hoped, lacks some depth.
3.6 Bottle. Bottled Feb 2015; BB Feb 2020; Drank July 2017 - Very dark brown in colour. Spare head. Very Malty; smoked malts, roasty, liquorice, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, tar. Dark Fruits. 3.9 Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Svart. Høyt luftig skum med farge. Daler veldig sakte. Spotlacing. Behagelig røykaroma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken lakris. Sjokolade. Ikke påtrengende. Balansert. Avslutter passe tørt. Utmerket øl!
4.0 33cl bottle at home from De Caigny, Belgium. Nose is light smoky, dried fruits, cocoa. Body is black, head is small, beige, frothy, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma is moderate smoked old wood, raisin, milk chocolate, herbs. Medium sweet, medium bitter, hint of fruity sour. Finish is long lasting roasty medium bitter, alcohol is hardly noticeable. Full body, oily texture, nearly flat carbonation. Quite easy dessert beer, well balanced, tasty, nice one.
3.8 Bottle. Sherrylike molasses and hickory aroma with lots of dried fruit. Hazy ruddy very dark brown under a lasting white collar. Phenolic smoky flavor with tons of dried fruit and tobacco, very low bitterness. More of a wee heavy than stout. Luscious. Moderate carbonation, full body, smooth and slightly warming.
4.0 Bottle @ home. Black colour with a amall light brown head. Smells slightly smokey, roasty, sweet. Tastes roasty, tiasty, chocolate, sweet, hint of alcohol. Not very smokey. Full body, slightly silky, soft carbo.
3.7 Aroma: geroosterde mout, koffie, pure chocolade, rook, en rijstwafels. Smaak: zoetje, geroosterde mout, koffie, klein beetje vanille en klein beetje rook.
3.6 27-01-17 // bottle at home. Pours a deep black beer with a solid beige head. Dark roasted malts, some chocolate and coffee, smokey, toasted, caramel sweetness, brwon sugar.
4.1 dark brown colour, moderate sized, dense beige head; aroma of smoke, soy sauce, cocoa powder, mayve some dried fruits and vanilla; taste of syrupy sweetness, soy sauce, smokey notes, hints of vanilla and spicy-chili aftertaste; quite unusual imperial stout
4.0 Zwart bier zonder schuim.
3.9 33cl bottle. Clear, very dark mahogany pour with a medium-height fizzy tan head. Notes of smoked dried fruit, toffee, chocolate, roasted malts, tons of dried fruit. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Much lighter than an imperial stout, and also the roast is quite subdued, it feels more like a smoked barleywine.
4.0 medium aroma - a lot of well roasted malt, moderately smoked, strong coffee (espresso), brown sugar, rum, smoked black fruits, some notes of old/burnt wood, a bit of vanilla. strong taste, very emphasized - roasted malt, diluted with some watery coffee, some black chocolate with moderate bitter (pleasant), notes of something burnt (wood) and smoky (plums) at the same time, with a bit of sweet and slightly peppery, some dried fruits and honey in the final. very good! an excellent beer
3.5 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Wędzone śliwki i przypalony cukier. Całkiem fajne.
3.1 Bottle from Deconinck, Vichte - BE. Color: deep dark black beer with no carbonation and medium brown head. Smell: roasted and smoked malt mix. Sweet and boozy. Taste: fully body with roasted and smoked malt. Quiet strange, not my style. Good attenuation and superb finish. Aftertaste: alcohol, coffee, smoked and roasted.
4.2 Pours a dark opaque colour, big off white head with good retention and compact lace. Powerful aroma of smoked salmon, coffee, chocolate and darek fruits Palate is creamy, medium body and good carbonation. Taste of smoked salmon, dark fruits, chocolate, coffee.
3.7 Bottle courtesy of Vinny shared with Paul, Al, Vinny and Jim. Pours a deep brown body with no head. Nose is rich toffee, burnt meat and earthy wood. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with notes of sweet brown sugar, smoked meat, dark malt and a touch of heat.
4.1 Bottle, courtesy of Benzai during one of the EuroLocalSwaps in 2016, bottled 04 Feb 2015. Pours pitch black with little head. Indeed a smoked impy stout as promised. Smokyness is mostly present in the aroma. Otherwise still nice as an IS though, without getting too heavy. The palate rounds off this beer perfectly. Great drinkability for such a beer.
4.0 Bottle shared with some friends, Pours a dark brown/black with small to medium sized head. Notes of rich toffee, ham hock, meaty candied bacon, wood, roasted malt, dark fruit, and very light peat. Layered and complex with just the right amount of smokiness playing off the imperial stout. Nice
3.9 Flaska på Bishop, ca 1,5 år gammal. Mörkbrun/svart med krämbeiget, fluffigt skum. Doft av kola, toffee, lakrits, bränt socker, kaffe, inlagda körsbär och lite rökiga inslag. Mellanstor, len kropp. Toffee, lakrits, brända toner och en del rökighet i smaken. Väldigt trevlig!
3.7 Piana nieduża, beżowa, drobna. Barwa ciemno brązowa, nieprzejrzysta. Aromat subtelny, lekka ogniskowa wędzonka, czekolada, kawa, karmel i przyprawy.
