3.6 Coarse persistent foam and a nice hop aroma. The taste has a light caramel malt with a slight hint of hazelnuts towards the end. It is very finely balanced in relation to the takeover of the hop bitterness, which offers the amarillo hops' refreshing taste of citrus and a slightly bitter orange peel. It is a very nice beer that I would also like to buy again.
4.0 Fresh, strong bobbles
3.0 Easing out of lockdown, March 2021. Small brown bottle, unfiltered. This is a different experience from 2017. There is no carbonation, and the malt is bulkier with the hops more integrated and less girly. The malt actually tastes and feels unfermented, or at least under fermented. There's a good malty taste. I like this. Still a bit sludgy. But this is drinkable and attractive. Messy, but, hmmm, tasty. [3.4] Dec 2017. Day 21 of the Honest Brew Advent Calendar. 330ml bottle, unfiltered. It's OK, but I'm not keen on the tropical fruit hops. Nor the sludgy bitterness. Nor the lagerish malt. Nor the excessive carbonation. I shake and burn off the carbonation, and enjoy it a little more. But it's not really my thing. Malt is too thin, and hops are too tropical and girly. An odd cross between a low abv Belgian blonde and an APA. Nothing like a bitter. [2.5]
3.5 Bottle. 4.5%. Best before 12.10.22. Pours a somewhat hazy, golden/light amber, with a big, frothy, lasting off-white/yellowish head. Good lacing. Fruity, citrusy hop aroma, with a light malt note. Light dusty overtone as well, increasing as it warms. Flavour is sweetish, with exotic fruits, citrus, with a light cheesy hops note, and a remote hint of rubber. Medium bitter finish. Fruit. Hint of pineapple. Lingering light liquorice note, followed by a grassy note. A wee bit too much carbonation. Overall fairly good. Feels somewhat more like an APA, than a Belgian ale though. 21.04.21.
3.3 Bottle. Murky amber with a huge beige head. Yeasty and slightly spicy aroma with some citrus and caramel notes. Sweet flavour with a decently bitter and hoppy finish
2.7 Look: Pours a little cloudy dark honey yellow with a guge lasting soapy off white head. Nose: Flower, resin, pine, herbs, pepper, a bit sharp. Taste: Roasted bread, some acidity, medium bitterness, a little hops, a little dusty in the aftertaste. Overall: Drinkable but not a favorite, a bit all over the place for me.
2.7 33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Coop Culemborg. Light hazy amber with a white head. Caramel aroma with some hops and a hint of sulphur. Sweet taste with a short sweet finish. Not very pleasant.
3.1 Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a trappist glass. Deep golden colour, small head with short retention, sticky lacing. Aroma of pine, caramel, resins, grapes. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Sweet but hoppy finish. Taste of resins, caramel, fruits, hops. OK.
3.6 Hazy, dark amber color and a nice off-white head. Dry malty with dried fruits. Nice hops. Good body.
4.6 Nice balance between bitter & sweet aroma of grapefruit, mandarin, herbs, red pepper fruit & green pepper fruit. Clear amber with a very long lasting white head. Medium bitter taste with a touch of sweetness in the finish. Full bodied, creamy texture & soft carbonation.
3.4 This is a backlog rating from 2013 from a bottle shared by Tmoney99, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are pale malts, mild fruit, mild floral, mild bitterness, simple.
3.3 Bottle, 33cl. Pours hazy amber with one-finger off-white foamy head. Grapes, pines, hobs in the nose. Sweetsourish aroma and taste. Very nicely aroma and nose in general. Taste are somewhat lacking a bit to follow up the overall great first impressions. Not bad, but lacking. Sweet malty flavour with hops and grapes. Full carbonation in medium body.
3.5 Botttle. Pours clear amber with medium white head. Aroma is malt, spruce and hints of grapefruit. Taste is light to medium sweet, medium bitter and faint acidic. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, caramel, biscuits, nuts, spruce and grapefruit.
3.3 Aarhus 23/7 2020. 33 cl bottle from Føtex, Torvet, Silkeborg. De Molens usual austere design with neat and detailed writing in black on a white label. And the small logo with the Mill. Pours unclear orange with a medium-sized, fluffy white head. Settles as 2 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet maltiness mingling with a lighter citric sourness. Caramel, toffee, sugar. Grains. Citrus. Light carbonation. Thin, watery, almost flat texture. Flavor is medium intense with a strong malty sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while. Finish is caramellish and a bit dry. Quite the caramel bomb. And not much more than that.
3.3 Amber with a lasting white head. Fruity aroma with toffee notes. Sweet malty and fruity flavour with a mild bitter finish.
3.1 Aroma: grapefruit, pine, caramel Appearance: hazy amber color with a two-finger tan head. Taste: caramel, pine, grapefruit, medium sweetness, medium-high bitterness Palate: silky texture, moderate carbonation, dry finish, alcohol sensation is higher than expectation from 4.5% ABV. The gravity is too high. Overall: Quite hoppy and bitter, it is more of an amber APA. It doesn't really offer the refreshment which is expected from blond ale.
3.1 Bottle @ Friends/panzer. Appearance: pours clear golden with ok soapy white head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, light fruit, light citrus, light pine and grassy notes. palette: medium hoppy and light yeasty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, average sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration, light hoppy finish and a watery texture. Overall: decent hoppy ale
4.0 Særdeles god og velsmagende øl. Frisk smag. Tilpas bitterhed og sødme. God indbydende aroma
3.4 Aroma: Dusty hops and ripe fruits. Flavour: Fruity bitter with tangy notes and a fruity bitter finish. Colour: Dark amber with a white head. From: Bottle @ Bilka Tilst Jun. 2020.
3.2 Bottle from Sterk Amsterdam. Ruby-copper pour, some yeast, dry hop. Decent beer.
4.1 A belgian, amber Pale Ale with white head. Aroma is malt, hops, pine, fruit, citrus. Taste is bitter sweet.
3.7 Bottle.copper colour with small head.Aroma of hops and malt lively mouth feels and hint of citrus and yeast nice well balanced like all De molen beers.
2.9 A copper colored beer. Modest head. Fruity, citric IPA-ish smell. A hint of wine. The taste is an extension of its smell: sweetish IPA-ish, i.e., fruity, hoppy and some ashy sourness. A bit thin. Dryish finish with lingering sweet hoppyness. Basically a reasonably complex but light IPA. Mwah. (What is it with these Dutch (craft) brewers and their love for IPA style beers? Why??)
4.2 God øl. Lækker duft og smag. Dejlig farve.
