3.5 Flaša. Bledšia čierna farba, slabá pena. Vôňa pražených sladov, skaramelizovaný cukor, štiplavý dym. Chuť pražených a najmä nadymovaných sladov, opäť skaramelizovaný cukor, mierna sladkosť.
3.8 Smoked chili stout by De Molen, thanks to Craftmember for sharing at Arendsnest. Medium thick, yellowish beige, slowly disintegrating but creamy head, hazy, very dark bronze robe, almost black but still translucent under bright light with a burgundy hue. Aroma of moist peat (iodine-like), unsugared black chocolate, burnt wood, black peppercorns and indeed dried green chili peppers, black toast, ashes, bonfire, hard caramel candy. Very subdued in sweetness, dry beef stock umami and underlying sourishness prevailing, prickly but refined carbonation, full and oily mouthfeel. Thick bitter blackened toast body, unsugared chocolate and coffee grounds, drenched in strong iodine-like peatiness (Islay whisky) before a warming, gin-like alcohol effect sets in, with ongoing bonfire-like smokiness and extra, yet well-embedded heat from the chilis. More peaty than 'piquant', but in any case a big, bold, typical Molen stout, classic Molen style I'd say.
3.6 On Tap @Bier & Big End of Winter Festival, Eindhoven 08/12/2018 Color ambarino, corona de espuma blanca, aromas ahumados, sabor ahumado,, final seco.
4.0 Dark color, middle foam size. Good beer, aroma and taste fit into the style.
4.4 Piwo koloru machoniowego. Piana beżowa z początku dość wysoka szybko opada do małej wyspy na środku. Aromat to głównie spalone kable. W tle trochę czekolady i czerwonych owoców. W smaku podobnie. Na pierwszym planie kable, lizol, czekolada deserowa, kakao. W aftertaste czekolada z chili. Same papryczki nie męczą a wręcz nadają piwu świeżości i fajnego posmaku. Wysycenie dość niskie do średniego. Jednym słowem - POLECAM.
3.9 Aroma is charred oak, bourbon and ash. Taste is dark roasted malts, rye, toffee and a spicy pepper finish. Light smoke and spice on finish. Very unique but enjoyable.
4.0 Butelka 330ml z datą ważności do 07.07.2019 BARWA: pod światło ciemny rubin, klarowne. PIANA: praktycznie brak, coś się prubuje budować i znika do zera. AROMAT: zaraz po otwarciu z butelki spalone kable, po przelaniu do szkła umiarkowany torf, karmel, ciemne owoce, paloność, po zamieszaniu szkła daleko w tle wyczuwalna alkoholowość (destylat). SMAK: słodowość, gorzka czekolada, delikatna kwaskowość i długo utrzymująca się pikantność (pieprz, chili), niskie wysycenie, średnio pełne. Przyjemne
3.4 Big smoky taste. Lots of burnt bacon and charcoal. Couldn't drink a lot of this. A third was enough.
2.9 Quite alright beer that’s not in line with the usual complexity both in aromas and mouthfeel asociated with this brewer. Well ezecuted stout with moderate smoke.. didn’t get heat from chillies and what’s worse, i didn’t get the aroma ^^
4.0 Dark brown, translucent, a finger of an off-white head, some lacing. Strong smoky aroma, bacon and vegetables. Tastes low bitter, with burnt malts, salt, smoke, leather, bacon, chipotle paste, dark chocolate. Light bodied, soft carbonation, intense and unique flavour, long finish. Interesting smoked stout, good, although inferior to their other smoked 'Bloed, Zweet & Tranen'.
3.5 330ml bottle from Beer Gonzo. Pours dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malts, caramel, peat smoke, burnt wood. Taste: moderate sweet, light bitter, roasted malts, tar, bitter dark chocolate, wood smoke, some chilli heat in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft carb, oily texture, very dry roasty finish. Nice!
3.8 There are peat, smoked meat in aroma which very similar to Ardbeg whiskey. Dark brown without head. Taste is similar to aroma. Spicy in aftertaste. Great balance between smokes and spiciness. Medium body, light carbonation.
4.0 0.33l bottle. Black color with medium beige head. Aroma: bacon, camp fire, tar, notes of vanilla and chocolate. Taste: bacon, warming chilli, tar, more chilli, dark chocolate, coffee. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, moderate bitterness. Chilli combines well with smoke and roasted malt character.
2.8 Bottle. Caramel, nuts, bonfire smoke, peat, old cupboard notes. I got minor chocolate notes only in the flavour. Spicy finish. Rather light bodied. Disappointing.
4.2 I love smoked beers but never ever tasted beers with chili. Now I know it is a perfect comination. After I drank Rook & Vuur I have a new favourite substyle! Combine it with cpicy at your own risk :)
3.8 Bottle from 100 piv. Vona perfektne vyudena. Farba cierna. Chut udena slanina s drevovou prichutou. A ma silu.
4.2 (jamais rien humé ni goûté de tel (meds buvable !) : insensé-déroutant : pneu fumé & colle rustine, vidange)
3.9 Aroma: intense peaty smoke, a bit "salty" and ham-like, backed by slightly sweet roasted malt with some dried fruit. Near-black mahogany pour with small beige head. In taste it is initially sweet and chocolatey, later followed by the smoke, initially mild, but strengthening over time, and remaining long in the aftertaste. I thought the smoke was almost pungently spicy and then read about the chili addition and realized it was what caused it - proves that the recipe is quite well thought out. Medium body, low carbonation, gets spicier and spicier as it goes down. Very nice, but definitely only for smoked beer fans.
4.0 Аромат выраженный копчёный. Во вкусе дым, немного ванили, горечи почти нет, карбонизация умеренная, послевкусие копчёное с острым перцем.
4.0 Bottle at Majstor za pivo, Belgrade. Shared with lovely Anja. Black with a brownish tint, small tan head. Extremely rich aroma of soy sauce, peat, smoked meat and salt. Salty and heavily smoked, caramel and spices. Hot! Creamy texture, moderate to full body, moderate carbonation, lasting roasty finish with a touch of spices. Very good, but a bit overenthusiastic.
4.5 Dark, almost black beer with lasting, thing, tan head. The smoke in this beer is just wonderful, so turfy that young Scroodge McDuck would roam around Scotland looking for it. From behind it we've got some chocolate and roasted malts. In the taste we have a load of chocolate with some smoked whisky notes. The roasted malts are the thing that stays on the tongue the longest, and it's very pleasant The chilli is well mixed into the beer, i.e. does not burn in the throat, but only in the mouth. Wonderfully balanced beer. The alcohol (8,2%) absent in the taste, but it gives some fruity notes. Smooth, low carbonation. No acidity, that was a drawback in some of the previous ratings. My Lord, this beer is something.
4.0 F: medium size, tanned, not long lasting. C: dark, opaque. A: peaty, smoked wood, overfired wood, bit phenolic, cocoa, ink. T: roasted malt, smoky, ash, cocoa, chocolate, ink, bit chilly aftertaste, medium to full body, medium carbonation, very nice and different, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Bierwinkel De Hopduvel in Gent.
3.9 Schinkengott im malzsüßen BritischBarleyWineLikeBody. No Chillo & Schoko, dafür viel Speck & RedFruitNuancen..hups, ganz hinten🌶. 0,33l Bottle direkt aus der Molenschmiede in Holland. 2,55 Euro.
3.6 Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a dark beige head. Smoky aroma. Taste is dark malts, heavy smoke, chocolate notes, smoked meat. Faint chili notes, not much vuur to speak of. Finish is a bit sweet. A good smoked beer.
2.4 Aroma: campfire like; Appearance: pitch black with no head; Taste: liquid smoke with malty finish; Palate: heavy body with long, smoky finish; Overall: way too smoky for me. Would never get again.
3.9 Bottle (5/30/2012) picked up at Total Wine in Reno Slow gusher, dark brown with a huge tan head, some lacing. Aroma is smokey, brown sugar and peppers. Flavor of toasted malts, caramel, bready and smokey Nice, smooth
2.6 Black coloured stout with a off white head. Aroma: smoke, jodium and some sugar. Taste: smoke, sweet, caramel and more smoke. Personally I don’t like smoke beers.
4.2 Bottle from 100 piv. Aroma: smoke, pepper powder, caramel, sugary. Dark color, nice creamy beige head, oily texture, medium to full body. Taste: roasted, smoked, malty, caramel, alcohol, slightly lactic and nice spicy aftertaste. Good one.
