3.6 Very nice. A lovely caramel, malt aroma tinged with peach. Good body, then lasting bitterness, reminds me of mikkeller ipa. Maybe lacking a tad in the mid tate
3.1 Nice reddish copper color with a medium foamy head, beige, longlasting. Opaque. Intense hoppy aroma, fresh, balanced with notes of toffee. Lemon zest, pine, peaches and herbal notes are present, too. However, the mouthfeel is light, with an acid twist from the rye and an earthy touch. Watery texture, well carbonated, low bodied. Refreshing and very drinkable, it’s a good beer, but far from the best ones from De Molen.
4.3 Good surprise this De Molen bier!! Very hopsy taste for a strong IPA (6,6%). For me over this degree, it break the hopsy taste...
3.3 Bottle. Pours dirty orange gold with white head. Nose and taste of orange zest, citrus, earth, caramel malt, rye, peach resin and light citrus bread. Lighter medium body. A bit soapy.
11,11,10,11,12,11 - 10,90 - 14/9/13
3.5 Bottle from the bottle shop at De Molen. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is rich, hoppy with citrus fruit. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a grassy, dry spicy pepper, liqourice palate. I really liked this and at 6.6% I could drink it all night. Hey, now there’s a great idea :-)
3.8 Bottle from fish and beer, copenhagen. Reddish orange color, nice little white head. Aroma is sweet malts and fruity hops, quite nice, some citrus also. Balanced malty body, hops nicely bouncing in mouth, little soapy. But excellent ipa.
3.4 rood/bruin met schuimige witte kraag aroma: citrus, grapefruit, lekkere ipa aroma’s smaken: medium zoet, redelijk bitter, stevig bier, sterk gekruid, hoppig medium body, dun, laag co2
3.6 (Bottle). Nicely balanced scent, slightly sweet with aromas of floral hops, fruit and crispbread. Soft and fresh taste of fruit, citrus, hops and malt. The flavors are a little imprecise and "mixed", but not in a bad way. A nice beer!
3.1 Bottle:Hazy, deep golden to light amber coloured with a stable rocky off-white head, a touch of bread and vanilla(!?) in the otherwise dry citrussy-hoppy nose; dry bitter flavour with a subdued residual sweetness, pretty light bodied for a beer of 6.6%; lingering dry and tart lemony-grapefruity finish. Surely not bad, but still monotonous on a higher level…
3.7 Bottle from De Molen beershop. Hazy orange/amber with an off-white head. Aroma has orange zest, pineapple, light peppery and light malt. Taste is light sweet and a fairly light (for an IPA) bitter finish with some peppery notes.
3.6 Bottle. Dark amber with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel, hop, pine and grapefruit. Flavour is malt, fruit, caramel, hops, grapefruit, pine, little citrus, little sweet and medium bitter.
4.0 citrus, orange, amber, cloudy, white foam, heavily sour, bitter, astringent Such an unusual ale this one. It is absolutely lemon peel and not a lot else. Recommended by the staff at Brewdog Birmingham a week or so ago and we’ve just got round to drinking it. Aroma and aftertaste are both massively citrus in a big, round, grown-up kind of way.
3.8 Bottle from HJ Hansen, Odense. Unclear dark orange with a big and lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and rather hoppy - fruity and grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 080813
3.0 Bottle 0.33l at home. Bottled on: Jan 15th 2013. Colour is light brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, grape, grain, hops and malts.
3.2 Bottle from Bierkompass! Pours strong copper colored with high, creamy off-white head. Smell has lots of herbal hops, paired with some citrus, spruce and caramel. Starts very bitter hoppy with lots of spruce, citrussy hops and some caramel malts. Goes into a grassy-bitter finish with some pine woods!
3.8 Bottled, bottled a year ago, so not the freshest example. Large sample. Hazy amber color, big frothy off-white head. Aroma of fainted fruity hops, some tropical fruit, some strawberry, hint of grapefruit. Biscuity from malts and quite some caramel and toffee. Soft bitter taste, more cookie maltiness. Although the hop nose is not what it has been, the malt balance is still splendid.
3.6 Bottle at ’t Arendsnest. Pours amber with a nice head. Refreshing citrussy hop nose. Rye brings complex spiciness to supplement in the mouth. Very bitter. A beer that wants to achieve a little too much?
3.7 Bottle. Pours dark amber, slightly hazy, decent, beige head. Aroma is grapefruit and pine, light rye and slight caramel. Taste is dry with a lot of pine, some rye, light caramel and light grapefruit. Palate is quite full with good amount of carbonation. Enjoyable and stiff, but also easy to drink.
3.6 0,33 l bottle bottled Jan 15th 2013 Aroma is citrus and malt. Also some hay, grass, spruce. Appearance: amber, cloudy, frothy, stable tan foamlight sweetness, very bitter, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long and bittersweet finish,
3.3 Bottle from Fish and Beer, Copenhagen - Slightly hazy amber pour with and frothy off-white head. Citrus fresh hops, and a grainy toasty malt, slight spice. Decent drop this
3.5 330 ml bottle. Hazy amber colour, thick off-white head. Sweetish aroma of citrus fruits, caramel malt and notes of pine. The flavour is dryish malty, with bitter citrus and a lingering dryish hoppy finish. Smoothly carbonated.
3.1 Tap at Express de Lyon, Paris, 11th June 2013. Quite acidic bite on first taste, gets better and more balanced, as you drink more. This is ok
3.5 Pours a cloudy dark amber with a thin head (when poured carefully). Aroma is dominated by sweet orange and caramel, almost like some kind of sweet. There is a touch of more acidic citrus as well, perhaps lime. Flavour adds a long lasting and firm bitterness to balance the sweeter notes.
3.5 Bottle, split by the bar tend, at Beermongers, PDX 26/05/13. Hazed orange amber with a thin off white head. Nose is hops, orange, mineral notes, pine, grapefruit. Taste carries a big mineral and pine bite, orange pith, dank hops, bitter grapefruit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, hop bite in the finish. Ok IPA.
3.2 Bottle 33 cl. Pours cloudy orange in color with a whitish head. Wet grainy aroma, some vegetable and cellar notes too. Slightly bitter in taste with a bit of grassyness, but the vegetable notes are a bit disturbing, fortunately they seem to fade away a bit towards the finish though.
3.5 Ambrata buona schiuma leggermente grossolana agrumata leggero cereale resina buon amaro note speziatr
2.3 Bottle. Clear amber beer with a big offwhite head. Hoppy, sweetish and fruity aroma. Very thin and boring flavour.
