2018-09-08 Bottle@home... it pours hazy brown with a small tan head... the aroma is light bourbon, caramel and vanilla...The flavour is light bourbon, dried fruits, caramel, vanilla and toasted malt...the mouthfeel is nice warming alcohol... fantastic brew!

Ogromny kokos i wanilia w zapachu. W smaku kokos, wanilia, suszone owoce, bardzo pełne, gęste, degustacyjne.
330 ml bottle at home, bottled 5.9.2016. Pours a hazy brown with a quickly disappearing beige head. The aroma is full of sweet bourbon and sweet malt - marzipan, raisins, some tart woody notes, vanilla, honey and caramel - nice smell. Full body with a soft carbonation, a medium sweetness and a light to medium bitterness. The aroma is full of sweet malt, honey, brown sugar, caramel, marzipan, candied nuts, dates while the bourbon is very well integrated and not as dominating in the smell. Finishes with some residual sweetness, some honey, hazelnuts, some bourbon and a lightly warming feeling. Overall a really good malt forward barley wine - sweet but very balanced with well integrated barrel notes and a good complexity. The alcohol is present but never obtrusive.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aroma of dride fruits - prunes and plums, oaky and vanilla, some slight brun sugar and some velvet like toffee. Taste is super smooth, loads of oak - vanilla, dried fruits, some sweet bourbon, slight spicey tones and of course a toffee all over. Creamy mouthfeel, dosent seem that boozy, Good stuff.

Barley wine en fût de bourbon, de 12,4 % abv pour 27° plato, et 28 ebu.
Malts pils, cara. Houblonnage en premiant.
Mon exemplaire avait 14 mois de bouteille.
Couleur châtain foncé (49 ebc), aux reflets roux.
Mousse beige, à fins flocons, stable à 1 mm.
Arômes de bourbon, raisins blancs très mûrs, porto âgé.
1ère bouche très souple, à l'entame fruits mûrs, raisins mûrs, raisins secs.
Arrière-bouche déséquilibrée sur le bourbon.
2ème avec une fusion un peu meilleure fruits/bourbon.
Arrière-bouche longue, complexe.
La longueur alterne de très beaux moments, et des dominations du bourbon trop importantes.
Jambes huileuses, longues.
Levure d'une belle ligne.
Alcool bien, mais il ne réussit pas du tout l'harmonisation.
Finale trop bourbon, et même bonbon ..
CONCLUSION : pour amateurs de la boisson à Jack the lad, un peu frimeurs … (8/3/7/4/15)
Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, bourbon, wood and vanilla. Pours hazy dark brown color with thin totally diminishing tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with heavy sweet caramel and toasted malt, follows by dried fruit and vanilla, mouthfeel is warming alcoholic, while finish is mild grassy bitter. Full body, sticky texture and average carbonation in palate. Good for here and there, but not that I’m thrilled with it...
Bottle. Pleasant reddish-amber color, noisy yellow foam. Aroma: sweet, vanilla, bourbon and dried fruits, a bit of halva, plum wine or sherry. Taste: ambrosia, whiskey, raisins and figs, candied fruits, vanilla, warming, excellent!
Bottle kindly shared by Pilsnertest, many thanks! Dark, hazy, copper color with small,light brown head. Heavy caramel, molasses, toffee and some grass. Pretty sweet but it works beautifully, A bit of a boozy kick towards the end, but hides ABV dangerously. Great beer!

Wood, vanilla, port, nice alcohol. Warm long aftertaste. Just freakin brilliant stuff.
09-09-17 // taster, draft. At Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, London. Heavy ssweetness, molasses, caramel, dried fruits.
Meget kraftig og sødlig smag. Høj alkoholprocent, uden at man fornemmer det i smagen. Det er en øl man nyder!
Barwa brunatna, nie klarowna. Delikatnie sie pieni, ale piana opada. Aromat melasa, suszone owoce, przyprawy korzenne. Smak bardzo intensywny: rodzynki, melasa, beczka, sliwkowa slodycz, bardzo wyklejajace i swietnie ulozony. Bardzo duzo ciala, umiarkowane wysycenie. Po ogrzaniu intensywny korzenny posmak wpadajacy lekko w piernik, bardzo delikatna nie przeszkadzajaca wedzonka. Bardzo intensywny Barley Wine, swietna klasyka.
Bottle 0,33L. Courtesy of Kita. Dark, hazy, copper color with small, fast diminishing, frothy, light brown head. Aroma of dried dark fruits, bourbon, caramel.Taste starts moderate sweet followed by dried dark fruits like figs and plums, even wild strawberries. Finish gets a gentle touch of bitterness and bourbon in aftertaste. Rich, full bodied, almost syrupy.
[Edit warka 2018] Jest nadal fantastycznie. Zapach powala, smak supersłodki, wspaniały. Mistrzostwo i perfekcja, a stosunek cena/jakość po prostu kosmiczny.
Barwa ciemnobrązowa, piana uboga. W zapachu wanilia, suszone owoce. W smaku wanilia z kokosem, trochę owocowo na początku ale przechodzi z utlenieniem. Alkohol wspaniale ukryty, także lepkość i słodycz zdecydowanie i pozytywnie umiarkowane jak na ten styl. Najlepsze barley wine, jakie piłem.
330ml bottle pours opaque caramel brown with tiny slow-forming off-white head. Aromas of fig, caramel, marzipan, coconut and bourbon. Well developed flavours of dried apricot, raisins, toffee, butter, burnt toast, Portuguese sherry, honey, yeast and spices. Very little carbonation and high viscosity with a hint of oil. The barrel ageing has really concentrated the flavours so this is an ultra intense and satisfying barley wine.
Zapach wow, mnóstwo kokosa, pistacja, wanilia, migdał, rodzynki, karmel. Smak słodki karmelowy, Chlebowy, też trochę beczki. Ciut alko, czuć w gardle. Dobre

On tap at Pivoteka Zagreb. Unclear amber/brownish coloured, small off-white head, dried fruits and alcohol in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, wood, dried fruits, distinct presence of bourbon and dry alcoholic finish. Balanced alcohol.
Barley wine spettacolare come i migliori mai bevuti. Color tonaca di frate chiaro, schiuma quasi assente. Al. Naso splendidi sentori di dark fruits, frutta candita, agrumi, cannella, caramello. Al palato esplode di complessi sapori, di vino liquoroso, passito, zibibbo. Speziato e dolce, frutta e arancia candita, cioccolato, caramello. Corpo intenso, botte rotonda ma non coprente anzi contribuisce a donare complessità.

W aromacie czuć mocno burbonową beczkę, do tego drożdze, rodzynki, owoce, przede wszystkim wiśnie. Na pierwszy rzut nosa beczka za bardzo dominuje aromat, ale po ogrzaniu wydobywa się z niego to, co najlepsze. Barwa piwo ciemnobursztynowa, typowa dla BW, w smaku słodki, czuć beczkę, mocno owocowe, winne nuty wyczuwalne, do tego to, co w aromacie. W posmaku lekka kwasowatośc, alkohol tylko minimalnie wyczuwalny, jak na taką jego ilośc.

Sweet caramel, sweet grain malts, light citrus, umami. Clear, dark gold, tiny, foamy, white head. Medium sweet. More caramel, sweet, dark malts, dark molasses, light umami, soft carbonation, full bodied. Beautiful Barley Wine, rich and complex. Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 17, Canada Water.
Pours a dark caramel brown with a light beige head. Lots of bourbon and bready malts in the aroma. Some chocolate, light christmas spices, toffee and very light banana yeast. Taste is caramelly, malty, sweet barrel, sweet bourbon. The cask is totally ballanced here. Aftertaste is fairly sweet, but the booze keeps it from getting cloying. Just very good barleywine. Would love to taste this with some years on it.
Świetny barley wine... beczka zaznacza się genialnie w smaku, ale jeszcze lepiej w aromacie. W aromacie ciemne owoce w likierze, wino, bourbon. W smaku dość słodkie, lekko kwaśne, znikoma goryczka, która genialnie balansuje słodycz. Po ogrzaniu aromat jest nieziemski. Alkohol świetnie ukryty jak na taki voltage, delikatnie rozgrzewa, jest bardzo szlachetny 👌
On tap at Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with Višnja 666! Murky brown, no head. Vanilla, nutty, wooden and smoke from whisky barrel. Strong whiskey presence. Dry, boozy. Some sweetness underneath. Creamy and milky, very strong. Medium to full body, moderate lasting dry and boozy finish. Good BA, quite impressive. 838315=3.7
Tap at Pivoteka. Misty brown body, no head, no carbonation. Soft, sweetish aroma, entirely dominated by the oak and bourbon, on some maltiness. Pleasant and not too alcoholic. Creamy, very creamy aroma, dried berry cream fantastically smooth and well rounded. Dry grainy touches too. Just a vague bitterish touch in the touch mixing with light tannins. Woody notes and some alcohol do break through later but damn, damn this is smooth. And not excessivelly sweet either, just enough.
Beavx 2017.Aroma of sweet sherry notes, some bourbon, nuts, grains, fig jam, caramel, oak. Heavy sweetness that overpowers everything else. Rich, bourbony finish.
