3.5 750 ml bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of straw, earthiness, orange zest and light grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, light orange zestr and light grapefruit with a smooth dry bitter lingering earthy finish.
3.5 Rare Beer Club.  750 ml bottle.  Gusher.  Damn went all over the place.  Enormous frothy white head.  Floral hop aroma.  Taste of citrus hops.  Closer to Belgian IPA.  Easy drinking.  Big carbonation.  Nice mouthfeel
3.4 Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Label shows name as "Zomerhop" and a bottling date of "27 April 2012". Explosive release of pressure when the cage is loosened that thankfully doesn’t erupt and overflow. However the pour suffers from this as the tiny amount poured into the tulip glass is 90% foam. Tall blond head atop a hazed over amber body. Once the head dies off, the aroma comes through a but more with strong citrus notes, floral hops, spicy hops and herbal notes. It’s essentially all hops and fruit notes in the aroma. Soft malt notes and a touch of caramel in the background. Taste is citrus fruit, tropical fruit, herbal hops, floral notes, hints of pine, dusty yeast, soft malt and light earthiness as well. Body is light-medium and extremely effervescent. Strong prickly carbonation throughout as well as a moderate lingering hop bitterness. Ends with more citrus fruit, light pine, floral hops, herbal notes, unripe tropical fruit, dusty yeast and mild earthy notes. I’d call this a Belgian Pale Ale as it’s more akin to a Belgian Ale than a traditional IPA but a tasty summer beer nonetheless.
3.5 Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Nice citrus aroma with notes of pine. Nice full flavour of hops with citrus influences.
3.7 Pours a completely unfiltered orange with a large soapy white head. Aroma is very fruity, a touch estery, pineapples, peaches, hints of pine and underlying baked bread malts. Flavor tends to lean toward tropical fruity hops with backing caramel malts. Loads of carbonation with mild bitterness and a decent, soft balance.
3.7 Only a 2,5 months old bottle. A orange beer with a weak and blond head. A aroma is very fresh and moist, tropical fruis, mangos and pineapples, even some glue; overally, only tropical fruits. Taste of tropical fruits, not very bitter, evenly balanced and soft, aftertaste is slightly drying, piney, hint of glue. Medium bodied, nice to drink. A tropical, soft and gently IPA, tastefull but not the hop bomb.
3.8 2/VII/2012 - 75cl bottle @ Erwin’s place - brewed: 29/VI/10, bottled: 4/VIII/10 (2012-684) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle! Clear dark yellow beer, very big creamy off-white head, stable, little adhesive. Small sediment floating around. Aroma: citrus fruits, exotic fruits, passion fruit sorbet, sweet ripe summer fruits. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, pineapple, sweet peaches, little piny, hint of sugar. Aftertaste: nice bitterness, bit piny, citrus, some pineapple, grapefruit, little sugary. Must have been awesome when still fresh instead of 2 y.o.
3.5 Bottle (33 cl) from bierkompass.de. Shady amber, medium off-white head. Caramelly and fruity aroma with perfumy, citric and piney hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Semi dry with medium lingering bitterness.
4.1 A solid IPA from a great brewery. Tart and pungent with some pine and citrus aromas. Orangish appearance with a healthy head. Taste has some tropical fruit and some bread. Tried with Jessica Ludy and Dave at the brewery in 2012.
4.0 From a bottle at Midsummer Evening in Motala. A amber colored hazy beer with a offwhite head. Fruity, sweet whit a lot of pineapple, pears and citrus aroma. Fruity, hoppy and a bit bitter flavour with nice pear notes. A very nice summerbeer :-)
4.2 Bottle. Somewhat hazy golden/apricot color, ok offwhite head. Pineapple aroma, pear, mango, pine, hay, fruitcocktail, creamy notes. Hoppy floral flavor, grassy, bitter, perfume notes, grapefruit, hay, pear, mango, pine, dry, creamy notes, elder notes. Nicely balanced finish. Incredible balanced, well hissen alcohol. Such à good beer to start midsummers eve with.
3.7 This brilliantly desined bottle with an exquisite label pours orange with white head. Aroma of exotic fruits, hops and a little bit of yeast. Flavour is bitter, fruity and a bit sweet.
3.2 0.33 l bottle. Hazy amber color. Aromas of orange, mango and pine with hint of yeast. Taste of pine, mango and orange with faint of biscuity malt. Fruity and yeasty bitterness in finish. Medium body. Fairly drinkable, although a bit yeasty.
3.9 Buona IPA! Molto equilibrata l’amaro non è da sfatafascio. Aroma agrumato e luppolato. Al palato molto rinfrescante e beverina. Agrumata anche in bocca (ovvimente, visto che c’è il bergamotto) e a tratti resinosa. Ottima Ipa.
3.5 330ml bottle. Cloudy dark orangey golden to amber colour with small frothy lacing off-white head. Very nice but decent fruity aroma, mandarin, blood orange, grapefruit, peach. Taste has a bitter hoppy overtone in combination with a slightly sweet fruity malt basis whose intermixture results mainly in grapefruit notes, with mandarin flashing up near the end. So far the best De Molen IPA I’ve tasted. Still in their typical oily and earthy, somehow clumsy style, not as fresh and crisp as other examples of the style - but with a complex range of fruity notes sustained in taste opposite to promising ephemeral hop flavours that often lead to disappointment in taste.
3.7 Somewhat hazy dark yellow with white foam head lacing to glass. Aroma is sweet bitter hop, taste is pure bitterness. (Bodegraven 201206)
3.2 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark orange with a small white head and an aroma of fresh hops and citrus. The taste is mainly based on the complex bitterness of the different hops and some malts and fruity sweetness. A really nice beer, but not too surprising.
3.1 Entrada molt aromatica a llúpol i flors blanques. Poca retenció d’escuma. L’aroma és relativament volàtil. Bona amargor en boca. IPA molt floral. Lleugera i fàcil.
4.3 Hazy orange colour with an off white head. Rich floral hoppy nose. Rich hoppy and fruity flavour. Rich taste, but also mild and easy drinkable. [@ Haand ØlFestival 2012 as De Molen Lente Hop]
4.0 Very nice bitter hops beer. Great taste as usual with beers by De Molen. Beer reminds me of De Ranke XX Bitter!
3.1 Red amber coloured beer with large diminishing off-white head and lots of carbonation. Full hoppy floral nose. Full sparkling palate. Finish is bitter at first tough soft ending.
3.0 amber coloured sparkling body with a sparkling huches off white head a spicy hoppy fruity aroma a spicy hoppy bitter taste with a bitter finish
4.2 From bottle at tasting arranged by Sällskapet Malte in Feb 2011. Light amber and hazy with a stiff fluffy head. Fruity bubble gums and biscuits, simple aroma at the first sniff. After a few sips, more complex and all the fruity hops find their place. Good bitterness and very well balanced.
3.8 750ml bottle, slight hazy amber-orange hue, with a rocky bubbly beige head, nice mild yeasty, apricot, candied orange peel, orange marmalade esters in the nose with a light panettone doughy, floral citrus lemon, orange, leafy, grassy hop note, with a faint biscuity, toasted malt accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice yeasty, candied apricot, orange, lemon peel, flowery minty, leafy, grassy, citrus hop character with some zesty citrusy, peachy, orange marmalade, toasted, biscuity, caramel malt flavors, with a mild pine bark, faint cedary, pannetone cake undertone, leading towards a soft maltiness, candied orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, lingering leafy, grassy, minty, cedary, lime hop bitterness finish.
4.1 Cloudy amber beer, with huge white head. Lots of carbo made it very difficult to poor this beer making a massive head and allowing the yeast to come out of the bottle. Aroma is delicious citrus fruity hops. Taste is very good, nice balance between the hop bitterness and fruity sweetness. Good body as well.
4.1 Bottle: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a super huge foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of dry hoppy notes (Saaz) and some citrus notes (Amarillo) with a rustic malt backbone. Taste is a super well balanced mix between some dry hoppy notes with floral undertones and some citrus notes with a rustic malt backbone sustaining the whole mix. Body is full with limited filtration and super good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. I very much enjoyed this one and thought that the mix between Saaz and Amarillo hops was great.
4.0 Really unique and yummy IPA. Not your moms IPA. J/k, but seriously. I like the dark roasted and carlamely colors. Red/gold/brown in color big canvas head. The toasty notes of hops and malts from a whiff are great, layered with citrus and sugar. Taste is hazy roasty toasty malts, mini hops aroma and brown sugar and alco finish. I love everything Menno makes (Aka brewer of De molen) so great. The guy makes gold from a small but official setup. Palate is nice, since it slides through and brings a nice package with it. Overall great, so nice. Love it
4.3 2010 Vintage: 33 cl. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: very hazy orange with a bit white fluffy head which instantly rises incredibly as you poor the beer and quickly falls afterwards and lingers on, smell is very fruity hops, some citrus hops as well but the fruitiness definitely dominates over them, slight herbal follows, taste is aligned, very full bitterness with lots of fruitiness (including mango & citrus fruits), lots of hops in here, hint floral & touch herbal somewhere in the back, fruity pine hops, extremely well balanced despite pure hop nature & very De Molen, slightly dry finish, body is not heavy but feels full, slightly above average carb but suits this beer perfectly
(Rating #4029)
3.4 75 cl bottle as ”Lente Hop” @ home, bottled 17.03.2011, BBE 17.03.2016 Cork tries to come out immediately when the metal holder is removed. Beer stays calm in the bottle, but lots and lots of foam is formed in the glass during pouring. Aroma has fruity hops, but also the vichy-like aroma from overdose of CO2 does occur. Also some gooseberry bush. Rather foamy palate with way too much CO2. Flavour begins fruity, but ends up in stale ashes and peat. This could be good with less CO2.
