3.8portion of a 750ml bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours the color of honey; hazy.
Aroma: spot on given the "Tropical Tripel": there’s a substantial note of coconut, pineapple, citrus and other tropical fruits plus a Belgian tripel in the background.
Flavor: the base ale makes a stronger appearance in tasting where it is nicely balanced by the fruits and a hint of coconut. Appropriately sweet but eventually leaves a mildly bitter aftertaste.
2.3Bottle with Chris, Ray and Jay. Pours cloudy orange gold with dense of white head and soapy lace. Aroma of oxidized hops, caramel, sun tan lotion, pineapple jizz. Past it’s prime
2.8Bottle - Tropical fruit and coconut, like an odd piña colada. Clear copper with a bubbly head. Peach, coconut, grass and a bitter sweet finish. This is just not a combination of flavors I like.
2.9Draft. Clear yellow amber pour, with a white head. Very sweet, candy sugar, yeast, coconut, and fruity. Not a beer that I enjoy very much. Someone with a sweet tooth would probably like it.
3.2Another rare brew cracked open by my cousin - thanks! This had a tangy aroma, and a sweet & sour flavor. I also tasted lemon, a yeasty bite, and muffin. Things went awry a little with the presence of lager-like hops. Pretty good.
2.6At a Cigar City collaboration beer event at Congregation Ale House. Big Mango taste here. Then a wallop of coconut. But mostly wicked sweet. Tilted to tropical and less Tripel.
3.6Tap. 12 oz tulip at bulldog NE. Two finger head and orange color. Fruity smell and tropical. Creamy waxy body and taste probably from coconut. Complex finish. Alcohol sting is there but subtle. Made me feel the tropical sun...kinda.
4.0Bottle. Aroma is oak, coconut, booze, spice, peach, funk, pine, and barnyard. Appearance is cloudy amber with a thin white head. Taste is oak, Brett, funk, spice, peach, barnyard, and toasted coconut. Medium body with moderately low carbonation. Overall a great blend of flavors. Very enjoyable.
4.1Bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a honey gold with a finger and a half of off-white head. Aromas of tropical fruits, light coconut, dankness, stone fruit, yeast, light funk. Tasting notes of tropical fruit, stone fruit, light tart, yeast, a little booze on the finish. Not much coconut in the taste, perhaps it lends to the sweetness. Pretty solid collaboration between De Proef and Cigar City.
3.8750 ml corked and caged bottle poured into a chalice. Pours a hazy copper color with a white head of bubbly foam. The aroma is mostly bubblegum notes, but there are hints at leach and coconut if you try real hard to pick them up. The taste is sweet and estery with a bit of funk coming through especially toward the finish. Tropical fruits are strong here and the coconut in particular comes through.
3.6750ml served in a Tripel Karmeliet tulip
A - Dark burnt orange, hazy with 2 fingers of sudsy foam on top. Minimal lacing with a solid cap.
S - Clean orange cream aroma, fresh laundry washed with Gain, limes, good amount of peaches, clean tropical fruit, mango, papaya. Birch wood starts pooping up as it warms up and turns into a clean oak character. Watermelon, candy,
T - Zesty citrus, tropical fruits, papaya, mango, Belgian candy sugar, sweet candied malt, lemon/lime fruit comes through and grows stronger toward the finish. Hints of salt and muted minerals are peppered in with a sweet and steady malt. The tropical fruit dominates and the finish leaves you with a semi dry finish.
M - Full creamy feel with the carbonation lifting it off the palate.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! This is not a typical tripel but this beer sings in a harmoniously tune that is unreached by many. Perfectly executed with full flavored tropical fruits and somehow has a dry and peppery aspect that hems it all up. Very clean fruity aroma that you just don’t find in most beers. I didn’t get the coconut or any funk that I was expecting but time will tell with this one. Highly recommended

2.6Description sounds pretty good. Pours amber yellow. white head that’s very sticky. Nose has candied sugar and not much else.Coconut I totally pickup. peaches not so much. Pretty much a sweet, malty almost overly-yeasty triple with coconut. not that impressive or having depth.
4.0Bottle @ The Tin Bucket... Poured golden/bet with an eggshell head. Nice tripel-like Belgian nose along with peaches. Coconut and peaches came through in the flavor. Not much oak. But great Belgian Tripel characters. Definitely worth drinking. Wonderfully Belgian with fruits and yeast spicing and esters. Sweet with a bit of warming alcohol
3.4Soft golden copper pour with one finger of fine white head. Nose is very rich and sweet, cooked peaches and bread dough. Spicy with acidic peach skins and rich residual malt.
3.4Cloudy orange and lacy white head. Very fruity smell with bread. Flavor is very sweet. Fruity and hints of lavender. A little too sweet for me.
3.712/26/13. 750mL bottle. Lightly hazy golden orange pour with a nice off-white head. Light fruity aroma, mostly getting yeast type fruitiness, touches of creamy coconut, peach, apricot, and oak, not much. Sweet flavor, plenty of sugars, the Brett and yeasts haven’t dried this bad boy out quite yet. Some of the oak and fruitiness is there, but I’m mostly getting sweetness. Tasty.
3.7Bottle, enjoyed on Christmas morning. Would have been a better Sumer beer but what can you do? Pours a rich amber, very light white bubbles initially but gone before you know it. Rich and smooth with Belgian flavor spiked with the expected peach, coconut and oak touches. Light Brett notes in the background. Enjoyable stuff.
3.6Poured an amber orange color with aromas of tropical fruit, light coconut, some sweet dough and had some light floral notes. Flavors match the aromas not overly sweet the light peach and coconut is there but you have to search for it.
3.8Draft - fruity like punch but not overly sweet. Candy sugars and more orange colored fruit. Sweet. Enjoyable.
3.8Bottle. Moderate grain and cereal for the malt, flowers for the hops, and dough for the yeast, with peach and ginger in the background. Head is average size, creamy, white with fair lacing and good legs and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy, medium amber. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately bittersweet. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, syrupy with a lively carbonation and a a lightly astringent finish. Though over the top in the fruity department this Belgian Strong Ale is in perfect balance.
4.0Hazy amber pour with a white head. Aromas of fruit and notes of oak. I don’t get any coconut but I do pick up on the peach. Flavor is interesting, lots of fruit notes (tangerine and pineapple predominantly) and the oak character comes through in the finish. Very complex. Abv is well-hidden too. Solid brew!
4.0Draft at Eulogy. Cloudy amber pour with a large frothy white head that reduced to a lasting foam and lace. Feels really smooth and mild for such a high ABV. Big tangerine notes. Honey. Marmalade. Figs. Pineapple. Green plums. The coconut only appears at the end. Mostly sweet though the oak tannins add a bit of dryness.
3.3Draft. Small off-white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, peach, some tropical fruit/pineapple, light coconut. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, tropical fruit, light alcohol, alcohol warming. Medium-full body, some stickiness.
4.0Shared a bottle July 3 with a friend. Pours apricot copper with moderate head. Aroma of apricot and cereal. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of funky fruit juice, cane sugar, kiwi, lime, tropical fruit. Overall tasty with funky fruit notes.
3.4Slightly hazy brilliant gold with a thin sticky foamy head. Nose smells yeasty and a little like coconut with a touch of mango. The flavor is not so hot, with earthy funky coconut and yeasty dough with a bit of peppery melon. Weird.
3.6On draft at CCB. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is some sweet fruit, some apple, some yeast, some orange, peach, and stone fruit. Flavor is similar with sweetness, candi sugar, coconut, some stone fruit, and some apple and yeast. Medium to full in body and lingering sweet citrus and yeast in the finish.
3.5On tap at brewery. Pours a cloudy orange. Aroma of topical fruit, but mild. Maybe some malt sweetness. Taste is sweet, fruity, sugar. Alcohol warms a bit.
3.0The aroma is slightly fruity with yeast and malt. The appearance is orange gold. The taste is like the aroma with a touch of bitterness. The palate is Average. Overall interesting but nothing out of this world.
3.5Lightly tart and tropical with some citrus flavors and mild herbs. Get hints of thyme and rosemary . Lively body with a strong fizz
2.6Hazy orange colored pour. Small white head that is quick to disappear. Little bit of lacing. A yeasty aroma with some notes of malt. Much like most of De Proef’s run of the mill beers that lack much of anything. Taste is sweet malt with a dry yeasty finish. I don’t think much of what is listed as being added was actually even included. This tastes like most of De Proef’s regular ale lineup.
