4.2Smooth aroma of a Brett funk. Slightly hazy Amber with a huge white head. Thinner body that is a smooth Apple with a light inviting funk.
3.5a slightly tart BSA...not sure if that is by design or not. a little farmhouse on the palate as well, with some yeast and light funk, and dark fruits. Not bad, but overpriced.
3.522 oz. bottle.
Very hazy. Dark orange colored. Small head that disappears quickly. The bottom of the bottle was murky as hell and tasted like yeast.
The aroma is more inviting than the appearance. Smells like apples. Very malty. A bit funky.
Slightest bit sour.. Sweet with a bitter finish. Yeasty finish.
Syrupy. Not much of the alcohol comes through, though it’s only 8.5%. Lightly carbonated. The carbonation makes the finish creamy.
3.5Draft. Copper/gold with thick off white head and lots of lacing. Fruity and floral with a small hint of horseblanket in the background. Good.
3.9Golden orange, creamy white head... Aroma of tropical fruit hops, brett funk, barnyard... Flavor is tropical fruit bitterness, creamy mouthfeel, funky Brett... Super easy to drink.. Great beer
3.411.2 oz bottle, purchased awhile ago at Julio’s. Damn it’s a gusher... After the foamy calmed down enough to get about 7 oz in my glass I noticed the hazy Amber color. Aroma is caramel candy, light funk, dusty yeast, light dark fruit.
The flavor is mostly as the aroma with a chewy thick malty dark fruit and yeast texture. The funk is here very lightly underneath all the malt. No ABV or oxidation found. No clue on the Batch number but it’s held up really well, except for losing 4 oz on the floor. And I should have open prior to now.... So much beer, so little time.
3.8Draft. Golden pour, really nice brett character in this beer, its haylike and subtley funky but a nice medicinal meets tropical type flavor.
3.8750mL bottle. Pours a hazy deep gold, big white head with outstanding retention and lacing. Nose: big funky lilies, barnyard, band aids, dried grass, clover honey. Mouth: creamy, mild sweetness up front, green apple, yeast spice, bitterness amps up mid-range, grassy, floral, bread dough, finishes with some booziness. Very nice! Oh yeah... and fuck the Kings.
3.8Draft. Golden orange pour with white head. Citrus, funk and spice aromas. Orange, citrus, spice and funky flavors.
3.5Pours a cloudy orange brown from the bottle with minimal wisp of white head. Aroma of funky orange and caramel malts, hint of oak and banana. Taste follows, clean for the booze level, but you can feel the kick in the stomach. Nice but nothing crazy.
3.6Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, barnyard, yeast, and oak. Thin mouthfeel with light grain, wet biscuit, and funk. Easy to drink, very good.
3.7330ml bottle..Pour is golden with a cream head..Nose is fruits, bread, brett? yeast..Nice medium carbonation...Taste is Fruits, bready, alcohol hidden, hops, apple, bitter, citrus, spice...
3.5Rated on 7-15-2009 (Corked & caged bottle) When poured, this beer forms a large, rocky, foamy, fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished, mostly transparent/slightly hazy golden body, and one ring of lacing. The Aroma is bready malt, brett, funky, yeast, citrus, and herbal hops. The Taste is sweet, yeasty, bready malt, lightly spicy, and citrus hops. The Palate is tingly and this beer is light bodied. Overall, I enjoyed this beer’s flavors and the 8.5%ABV was apparent, but not overly so. This beer tastes refreshing on a muggy Indiana summer day.
3.2Aroma of rotten pear and other tart fruits, ever had ’peach barbeque?’ I am sensing that too. Weird yellowish tan color. Strange yeast effects. Clearly not a sour ale but has the tastes of one. Heavy dose of tart apples and pears, maybe grapes. Possibly barrel aged for a time. Hard beer to judge as there’s no immediate yardstick to measure it by. Not really my thing from a purely subjective standpoint.
3.5Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours deep golden with big chunks of yeast and off-white head. Medium/light body, medium carbonation, and thick big bubble lacing. Taste is pear. Reminds me somewhat of a tripel, not interested in having again.
3.7750 thanks to Dallas. Pours a murky brown and copper color with a large white head. A fruity nose with light yeast. The flavor is very sweet, some caramel, dry yeast, candies, a bit of warmth, light hops and fruit in the finish, apricot. Nice.

Dark cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is tart fruit, flavors are tart, honey and spices
Nice and smooth
3.7Poured from a 750ml bottle. This bottle is showing some age. Caramel, spicy, floral, masala/Indian food. Great for the age, but I would have liked to try this fresh.
3.8Deep gold, slight haze, off white head. Aroma of biscuity malt, some earthy Brett character. Flavor of grainy and biscuity malt, floral notes, earthy Brett, a little leathery age.
4.0750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/13/2010. No pop of the cork upon opening. Pours very hazy red-orange color with a small fairly dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, grape, peach, orange, floral, caramel, honey, bread, light pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity brett notes with balanced hop and malt notes. Taste of pear, apple, grape, peach, orange, pineapple, floral, caramel, honey, bread, toffee, light pepper, clove, and yeast earthiness. Very slight fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, floral, caramel, honey, bread, toffee, clove, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity hop/yeast notes with well balance malt sweetness; with no cloying flavors present after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy, slick, and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is actually quite good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian strong pale ale, despite lack of carbonation. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity and malty flavors; and quite smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
3.9Tasted on 3/4/13 from a synthetic corked and caged bottle purchased at Lush quite a while ago. Pours murky burnt orange with a thin off-white head that leaves a very thin collar of lace. The nose is really awesome, with some caramel malt, a nicely dusty, very dry and funky brett aroma, dried date and raisin, and a bit of cherry aroma. The flavor is very interesting, but not quite as pleasant as the nose, with the aged flavor very pronounced. The funky and dry brett dominate the beer with some old caramel malt and touch of fruity cherry on the back of the palate. The body is full with just lighter than average carbonation and a long, super dry and funky brett finish.
4.1Muddy caramel brown with scant off-white head (barrel-aged) / Rich, stewed nose of caramel, apple cider, sour malt, and spice / Medium body, mostly flat, some sweetness but excellent balance and lightly bitter finish / Old, musty, mellow flavors of apple brandy, licorice, caramel, nut, cinnamon, nutmeg, and oak / A weird, old European thing, but quite nice.
3.511.2oz bottle. Bottle cap seems to have "SA72" printed on it. This one’s a gusher... Be ready to pour it into a glass straight after opening. Hazy darker amber / orange color. Lots of chunky greyish yeast particles visible in the body. Big airy off-white head, leaves decent bubbly loose lace. Lightly tart funky nose, brett is evident there. Though as far as brett beers go, the flavor is hardly tart at all, just mostly just sweet, with a light bitter. Some nutty malts, chocolate, caramel malts. Little dark fruits, prominent cooked vegetables. Earthy, herbal hops reveal themselves more as you go, slowly getting more fruity, slightly (lightly citrusy). Bigger body, soft smooth carbonation, lightly creamy, more dry finish. Interesting flavor. Pretty enjoyable, smooth belgian ale to savor over a long-term.
2.711.2oz bottle. Murky dulled orange-brown with a whole lot of floaties. Foamy, fading, soapy head. Smells oxidized, funky apple sweetness.some garbage. Spiced caramel, apple, sweet yeast. Not really that impressive at all, tastes sort of like a boozy, infected Bierre de Garde or maybe Brown Ale. The sweet malts are no match for the pear apple flavors. Major disappointment.
3.8Bottle. Hazy amber brown color, medium tan head. Aroma of plums, caramel. Taste is toffee, dark winter fruit. Tasty.
3.8Pours a hazy orange color with a soapy white head that disappears quickly. Aroma of funk, fruit, and wheat. Dry finish with mostly sweet fruit flavor with Belgian yeast, wheat, and spice. Very nice beer!
4.0Bottle courtesy of Falco242. Sweet aroma, but not overly Belgian for a Belgian Strong. Understandable with half of it’s influence from a Southern California brewer. Murky reddish orange with a tan head. Bitterness is moderate. Very good brew.
3.8Nice foamy pour and a totally unfiltered color. Not the usual belgian which is good, a nice belgian start with wheat flavor that starts to transfer to a hoppy subtle bitterness. A really nice brew.
3.7Bottle to oversized snifter. Looks good; a hazy brown with off-white lacing. Smells solid; candy and dark fruit. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant mouthfeel. Solid.
3.5bottle - Pours hazy amber and has an aroma of yeast, malt, grapefruit, and cherries. The flavor is sweet up front with a dry finish. It’s moderately bitter, yeasty, and a little funky. The body was a little thinner than I expected. Definitely let it warm. I didn’t get much spice which could just be my tasting or lack thereof or maybe the spice is more subdued since the bottle has aged awhile. It’s a good beer but honestly I expected fantastic and it fell a bit short.
