De Ranke Noir De Dottignies

De Ranke Noir De Dottignies

Bottle: Unfiltered.

Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Candi-sugar; Yeast.

The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

4.5 Bought from the brewery. Black body, smell as chocolate, coffee, black malt, tasted sweet and with a bit alcohol feel. The empty bottle even smells very tasty... A very good dark beer!
4.4 Roasted malt. Good length. Whiskey aromas. Old juniper. Coffee. Toast. Burdock. Vanilla. Very good balance. Very good beer.
4.2 Roasted malt. Good length. Whiskey aromas. Old juniper. Coffee. Toast. Burdock. Vanilla. Very good balance. Very good beer.
3.8 Bottle shared. Aroma of caramel, raisins, wheat, banana, malts, caramel, yeast. Medium body.
4.2 A 33 cl bottle that I was pleased to obtain from a Belgian retailer along with a number of other similar brews. Off comes the lid and I pour into my Straffe Hendrik large capacity snifter. It arrives the anticipated cola-brown with a ragged top of sepia brown foam. Strong effervescence. A nice scent of ribbon candy, ripe dark fruit and raisin bread. A drink, oh my, this a fortunate purchase. Figs, dates, grain, malt, cherries and leather. A surprising bitterness concluding. It has a dense sensation, I like that. Certainly a beer I will seek again.
God weekend 😊👍🍺
4.0 Zeer mooi in evenwicht
3.9 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very very dark brown almost black colour with a medium sized thick creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and brown sugar. Taste is very much the same notes as the aroma with an added slight earthy hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied, smooth slightly oily mouthfeel, dark fruit, chocolate, roasty and also earthy hop finish. An excellent beer
3.2 2013 bottle, lol @ you Total Wine. Black with a tan head. Aroma of yeast, cola, dark bread, sugar, light oxidation. Definitely past its prime but it's evolved into something different and probably not better.
4.2 Malt torréfié. Longueur bonne. Arômes de whisky. Vieux genièvre. Café. Pain grillé. Bardane. Vanille. Très bon équilibre. Très bonne bière.
4.1 A nice surprise here, I thought initially this was a stout from the label, but it is a dark Belgian ale, like one of my favorites, the Carolus Blue Ribbon, quite tasty, the only down side is that it comes in such a small bottle... ;)
Corpo medio e tondo, carbonazione media-alta. Perfetta scuola belga
3.5 Dark brown body with a big foamy and persistent off-white/tan head. Aroma is brown sugar, tannic. Taste is toasty, brown sugar, pear. Short dry and sugary finish. Medium body average carbonation oily texture
Dziwne. Nie odtzuca ale i nie smakuje zjawiskowo
3.5 33 cl. bottle @ home, served in a teku glass, due date: 2024/07/04. Aroma: quite powerful aromas of roasted coffee, black coffee, cocoa, black chocolate, caramel, dulce de leche, brown sugar. Hints of spices, toffee, dates. Appearance: brown to dark brown color with very light brown and very creamy foam made of tiny to small sized bubbles. Medium to high head thickness, high retention, medium Brussels' lacing. Too dark to talk about its haziness. Taste: medium sweetness, low to medium bitterness, low sourness. Flavors of roasted coffee, black coffee, roasted malts, black chocolate, cocoa, dulce de leche, caramel, brown sugar, burnt brown sugar, spices, caramel fudge, dates, toffee, molasses, dark dried fruits. Balance is slightly toward the sweetness, but not cloying and well balanced for the style. Mouthfeel: medium body, oily to watery texture, medium carbonation, very long slightly sweet finish with the same previously mentioned flavors. Alcohol is well hidden and noticeable because of its throat and mouth warming and some hints of alcohol in the aroma and flavor. Astringency is not noticeable despite the use of the black malts. Some light acidity from the black malts is noticeable, but an outstanding job with all those dark malts at the brewery overall. Overall: good looking, quite powerful aromas and flavors of roasted coffee, black coffee, cocoa, black chocolate, caramel, dulce de leche, brown sugar. Some acidity from the dark malts. Quite complex with lots of layers of flavors. Quite good beer. Good sipper. Maybe it would be better with a bit less of carbonation and a bit more of body.
3.7 2 finger beige head, red-brown body. Nose: Roasted malts, caramel, dates, brown sugar and dark bread. Taste: Caramel, roasted malts, dates, brown sugar, pumpernickel bread and Madeira. Long, semi-bitter ending.
3.9 Bottle: Aroma is malty, roasty, toffee, sweetness, molasse, cake. Flavor is dense and sweet, malty, sugary, roasty, fruitiness with plums, dark chocolate. Ends dry and roasty bitter.
4.0 0,33l bottle from the brewery bar, Pours clear dark brown to black liquid, medium creamy tan head, fell down after a while, Aroma: nice chocolate, roasted notes, warming bourbon notes, red candied fruits, tobaco, slightly smoke, Taste: medium to medium heavy sweet, medium bitter, light to medium sour, chocolate, roasted malt, warming alcohol, red fruits, candied fruits, orange, Palate: full body, soft carbonation, creamy to oily mouthfeel, long roasted bitter aftertaste, Overall: very good, complex, high drinkability, enjoyed very well.
3.9 What a nice beer! It looks like an imperial stout and tastes like a mx of an imperial stout, a Black IPA and a double. There are chocolate notes, Nice hops and sweet malts, all well balanced.
3.7 Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Bottle, 33cL. 8.5%. Purchase ("Le Comptoir de la Bière", Boufféré (85), FR). Home. A sparkling very dark brown clear beer with a big beige foamy head ; good retention and lacing ! Roast, light caramel, light licorice, chocolate, prune. Medium round sweet, light to medium DRY refreshing, light warming background. Good body, light silky texture, average gaseous, sweet roasted chocolate dry finish; Overall, very good !
3.7 On Tap @Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Bruselas. 15/11/2019 Color marrón oscuro, aromas a cereal, maltosa, sabor dulce, malta, cuerpo denso, rica.
3.9 330ml bottle. Dark burgundy with a thick creamy beige head. Flavors are lightly roasted cereals, barley sugar, maple syrup, molasses, fruit cake, spices and licorice with herbal notes. Medium to full body, good carbonation, smooth texture.
3.6 Bottle. Hazy deep amber color with a thick foamy beige head. Aroma of bread with notes of cellar, lemon and vanilla. Sour taste in a traditional (Belgian) way. Medium body.
3.6 Bouteille.
3.6 Dark brown color with belge head. Aroma has dark fruits, dark malt, raisins. Taste is malty sweet with long quite sweet and somewhat bitter aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, dark malt, raisins, grapefruit and vanilla.
