De Ranke XX Bitter

De Ranke XX Bitter

XX-bitter is our most bitter, high-fermenting beer. Despite its low alcohol content, it produces a very rich, long lasting, full flavour.

Taste: Very bitter but still balanced. Long-lasting, distinct hop taste.
Hops: Brewers Gold & Hallertau Mittelfrüh. 16°. 10 EBC. 60-65 IBU.

2.7 Unique in the sense that a Belgian brewer took the leap to substantially increase the bitterness of a quality specimen. Otherwise, less than memorable.
3.2 On tap@ Tribaun. Goldgelbes klares Bier. Apfelduft, Getreide. Im Geschmack kräftig bitter. Passt.
3.5 0,33l lahvové zakoupeno přes slovenský internetový obchod drinkshop.sk. Nadprůměrné belgické pivo. Na Belgii neobyčejně chmelové. Bitter sedí.
3.2 Bevuta in bottiglia. Bionda luppolata. Niente di particolare. Abbastanza amaro nel finale.
3.8 0,33 l bottle from Systembolaget Motala. I drink Belgian ales rarely although this kind of beer is not bad.
2.0 Cerveza absurdamente amarga.
4.1 Hop bitterness is dominant
3.7 330 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golden amber with white head. Bitter hoppy with grass, herbs and hay. Dry with high bitterness and medium carbonation.
3.5 Hazy light amber colour, creamy head. Aroma: spices, Belgian yeast, malt, some banana, herbs. Taste: hops, malt, a grassy bitterness, some citrus, herbs, spices. A nice bitter.
4.0 Golden colour with lower white head. Aroma hits with yeasty and some floral, slightly even spicy notes. Taste balances yeast and hoppy bitterness. Overally quite good. Like blonde had rendezvous with pilsner.
4.5 Semitranslucent golden color with fine foam with slight retention. Slight hop aroma. Bitter taste with a moderate malty background to balance. Medium-low body and carbonation.
3.6 Yeast and banana aroma. Bread, yeast, and banana taste. Bitter aftertaste. Nice.
3.5 Hazy golden colour with dense foam. Banana and spice aroma. Rather dry taste with pepper and some banana. Lasting dry bitterness.
4.1 Tydlig beska, blommig, färg som en zingo, vitt skum.
3.5 Flaska från systembolaget. Gyllengul öl med vitt skum. God öl med fin toner av jäst, örter, peppar och banan. Torr avslutning.
3.6 Bottle 330ml. Hazy golden, plenty of yeast in the bottle. Offwhite dense head. Some of that sweet fruityness of a Belgian blode, but also the bitterness of a German pils.
3.9 You'd never guess this was a belgian beer. More West coast IPA land. Hoppy aroma. Very bitter and hoppy/citrus taste. For its low abv plenty of flavour. It's a good beer one i would drink occasionally. This should really be in one of the ipa category.
4.0 Appearance: Served up a dimmed, golden-orange body with a thin, white head. Smell: Toasted grain, very modest breadiness. Firmly herbaceous, lemon pith, spice and a little menthol. Taste: Its minimal malt quality and fleeting golden syrup sweetness quickly launches into citrusy, floral and herbal tones. Commanding lemon and grapefruit, white peppercorn and a low grinding funkiness. Firmly bitter, even moreso on the drying, minerally finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation, a bit of a zippy mouthfeel. Overall: Solid stuff.
3.7 Cloudy orange yellow pour. Sugar, fruits. Some butter citrus from the hops. Pretty enjoyable
3.3 @ Gammelgårdsvägen 18/-12-20. Malty and fruity with yeast and notes of spices. Body is medium, the finish is dry and bitter.
3.2 Bottle from Sterk Amsterdam. Loads of grassy hop, bitter finish, solid but unspectacular.
3.7 Golden, persisting white head and lacing. White pepper, citrus and banana. Caramel and hay.
3.2 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear light amber off-white head. Aroma of malt, honey, some fruity esters. Tastes bitter with some sweetness. Thin to medium bodied. Bitter finish.
4.2 On tap @ Lupulo Craft Beer House. Somehow I've never rated this? Hazed straw colored beer with a white head. Big time floral hops along with bread, biscuit, and pear on the nose. There's a light bitterness of straw and grass. Maybe some lemon rind as well. Really, really biscuity and malt forward but not really too sweet. Has a light lavender soapy quality on the tail end of the aroma. A classic.
3.8 Vyrazna chmelova chut. Medova jemnekalna farba. Pena drzi chvilu. Chut silna horka alkoholova.
