3.7 Bottle. Hazy amber colour. Huge airy head. Low retention. Aroma: Belgian yeast, dried apples and pears, figs, caramel, toffee. Light to medium body. Taste: light sweet. Lots of dried fruit, caramel, spicy yeast. Dry ending. Quite good.
3.5 Bottle 33 cl. Bronze-amber color, slightly yellowish foam. Aroma: caramel and plum, wine, dried fruit, esters, easy hint of toffee. Taste: sweet, caramel, wine, toffee and dried fruits a little, warming.
3.9 30/04/2018 - 33cl bottle on a friend's birthday. Dark brown with big tanned head. Nose is dark malts, some fruits, caramel, spices. Taste starts pretty roasted for a dubbel, caramel, spices, bit hops, low sweetness, soft bitter ending. Nice Dubbel.
3.3 Bottle from Bierkonig. Nut brown with a medium head. Aroma of yeast and spiced fruit. Flavour is spiced wheat, yeast and tangy fruit, spicy dry wheat finish.
2.2 Bottle @ Pre-Pils-Festival, Odense. Pours Hazy amber with a creamy head. Sourish touch - clearly infected. Dark mad overripe fruit. Tartish. Vomiting.
2.7 Dunkbar Pilsnerfestival Pre-tasting. Amber with a small white head. Aroma of figs and dates, with a touch of banana. Dry and slightly tart flavour with loads of dried fruit.
3.4 From bottle. Transfer of an earlier rating without text recorded, rating only.
3.0 Bottle from Carrefour City Supermarket, Brussels, Belgium. Hazy dark amber coloured with a thick white head. It has a dried fruit and slight tart spicy fruity flavour with a slight soapy and red fruity finish. Ok
3.1 F: medium size, beige, not long lasting. C: brown with red hue against the light, hazy. A: malty, fruity, cherries, herbal, hint of mint, caramel, bit of chocolate. T: malty, light sour fruity, caramel, chocolate, bit of cocoa, bit of spicy, aroma is better than the taste, medium body, medium carbonation, not very special, 33cl bottle from Carrefour market, Leuvensesteenweg in Tervuren.
3.0 Shared 33cl bottle. Amber with a light beige head. Malty aroma. Taste is malt, bread, coriander, caramel, nuts. Okay.
3.3 Aroma: extremely dry and a little fruity, kind of like a sherry; Appearance: rich dark amber with off white head that lingers; Taste: malty and fruity; fairly smooth; only a little belgian spice present; Palate: medium-heavy body with long, sweet and slightly off putting finish; Overall: perhaps more like a strong ale than a dubbel, but okay. Would probably not seek out again.
3.0 Bottle, Beers of Europe. Dark brown with an off white head. Raisins and lemon with herbal aniseed notes. Roast coffee with cola. Spices with cola. Fruity finish. OK.
2.9 Pours a dark beige head with aromas of toasted bread and cinnamon bread. Amber to clear brown colored body. Some strong liquorice in mouth which hides malts and hops.
3.3 Bottle at restaurant, served cold. Deep brown body, very little head. Nose of sherbert which can be felt on the tongue, the impression leant support by the sprightly effervescence. As the beer warms, a kind of sweet sourness develops (sour cherry?) with an aftertaste of banana split. Fairly thin body but with fairly thick flavours. Refreshing.
3.3 Medium mokka head, dark btown coloured body, caramel a bit sweet fruity some citrus peach like smell, medium to high carbonation medium bitter fruity some acid citrus a bit of bitter lemon like taste some malts
3.4 Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is dark amber colored and has a stable and small cream colored head, with average carbonation. The aroma is roasted malts and caramel, but also a bitterness of spices and cacao and coffee. The taste is full bodied with a malty and caramel sweetness and it turns into a light sourness with also some bitter hop notes. The finish is sour and light bitter. Not what I suspect from a dubbel, but not a bad beer.
Beetje zurige afdronk. Slap bier.
3.6 Sample at Örebro Öl & Whisky 2015. Fruity smell with caramel and roasted sugar. Similar taste. Nice and drinkable.
3.3 Amber coloured beer with off-white head. Aroma is sweet, plums. Taste of caramel, ripe fruit with a fresh
2.6 Bottle 330ml (from BBF, BB 12/2016) Ruby color, small beige head. Aroma has prunes, caramel and some vegetably notes. Medium-bodied. Caramel, prunes but also acidic crisp notes which are not so enjoyable. Very subtle hoppyness indeed. Light spiceyness. Below average dubbel, maybe not in its best shape.
3.7 From a 33cl. Pours a brown walnut color body with a nice cream beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and hints of chocolates. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, caramel, brown sugars, bread and hints of spices. Nice balance of flavors, light sweetness, creamy and somewhat velvety finish texture. Hints of butterscotch and licorice on the finish. Very pleasant flavors, nice medium body, very tasty. Really enjoyed it.
3.5 Red brown double with the well known double taste. Nice balance in sweets and bitters. Clear taste of caramel with it.
3.0 KRS 131214. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is apple, malt, sugar. Flavour is apple, malt, sugar, hop, grain, yeast, caramel. Medium body. Ordinary beer.
2.5 Sugary aroma was not a good sign, but at least the aroma was there. For the taste, I am stuck with alcohol taste, but without the typical alcohol kick you get when the % is high. Not for me, but not really a bad beer.
2.4 Light dough aroma. Sweet malt. Warm alcohol on the tongue. Faint candy aftertaste. Tingly acid feel.
2.7 Belle mousse.
3.5 Foam on two fingers, beige, it is not too long. Fruity, cherry, plum, intense caramel and something else. The taste is dry fruits, plums, cherries, caramel softer than in the aroma. Minimally saturated acidity. Alcohol completely imperceptible, super, worth repeating.
