2.7Bottle from Tres Bonne Cuisine. Braced for the worst as I discovered the bottle was dated from 2011 (Lot 09218/1), tons of sediment. Pleasantly surprised as its held up well. I didn’t think tripels aged at all. Cloudy orange golden body with soft creamy head, fine carbonation. Aroma is a bit musty, but not entirely off. Taste is bit funky and slightly sour, as the yeast has definitely passed its prime. A pretty good tripel is detectable in there though, in its prime, this probably would have been pretty good.
3.3Pours unclear blonde, small white head fades fast. Smell is unintense, some yeast, bit sweet. Taste is sharp, bit bitter, but mostly very yeasty. Some malty sweetness underneath as well. Not very balanced, or complex for that matter. Drinkable, with a regular ( personally for me a bit too high ) carbonation.
3.7Pretty nice tripel, standard yellow / golden colored, average head. Decent smell, nice taste and good mouthfeel.
3.0Clear, dark golden color, small white head. A: fresh apple aroma, Jonagold, with slightly boozy sensation. Chestnut, walnut notes. T: starts with apples, moves to a slight astringent sour high with marzipan and apple juice notes. Development almost resembles champagne in mouthfeel and taste. Slightest creamy touch. Aftertaste is a bit dry, with fruity taste.
3.2Efervescencia típica. Color algo más oscuro, ambar claro. Aroma agradable, pan, clavo y algo cítrico. Tripel muy bebible aunque algo floja de cuerpo. Sabor tirando a dulce, con algo de pera y manzana, excepto al final, mas seca y amarga.
2.9KRS 131214. Golden-orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is apple, malt, hop. Flavour is apple, malt, hop, alcohol, sugar, yeast. Medium body. Ordinary beer.
3.3Bottle at home into a chalice. Pours strangely flat, but then gently grows a head - strange. Colour - it’s a blonde. Aroma is of sweet malt and strong pungent hop. Taste is sweet, but then quite bitter. Palate is a bit sweet and sticky, but otherwise not bad.
3.211.2 oz bottle 3/19/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-38° in Trappist-Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, green apple, and caramel. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is not bad.
3.4330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear pale gold, thin white head. Aromas of green apple, light yeast, light bread. Taste has some spice, bread sweetness. Finishes a bit thin and abrupt, but decent enough.
2.9Bottle. Pours golden with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, some fruitiness and sugar. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some yeast, berries and sugar. Medium body, average carbonation.
2.6Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, sugar, alcohol and hint of dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, sugar, yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.3Authentic and old school abbey tripel for the Dendermonde abbey, with peach blonde colour and thin off-white head; caramelly malts, estery fruitiness, yeasty, soft herbal hop bitterishness in the finish, good balance between fruity sweetness and bitterness. Ordinary but decent, like so many Belgian tripels.
3.0Botella de 33 cl, en Cerverceria Internacional. Color dorado. Sabor a levadura, dulce, afrutado, alcohol.
2.7330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Caramel and green apple aroma. Taste is extremely strong tasting,, almost spirit-like. Taste is a little odd and disjointed. No discernible tripel flavours, but some sweet berry like fruit with a touch of liquorice on the finish. Hm.. Perhaps something went wrong with this batch?
3.1Strong fruity aroma. Dense golden colour with good head. Very strong fruity flavor with a long aftertaste. Light body with high carbonation with good warmth.
3.3Medium white head, golden clear colour, sweet yeasty bitter co2 alcohol grape smell, medium to high carbonation medium bitter, sweet caramel some alcohol taste grape spicy
3.6AROMA: dough, herbs,
APPEARANCE: golden, clear, minimal head, white foam,
TASTE: light sweetness, lightly bitter,
PALATE: medium body, thin feel, lively, bitter,
OVERALL: crisp, but a bit thin, good balance of tastes, lacks depth of aromas.
3.2cloudy golden colour, some not really dense head, which collapses quickly; aroma of fruits, some caramel, earthy notes, yeast and alcohol; taste of yeast, earthy notes again, biscuit and caramel, minimal bitterness and alcohol - this 8% ABV should be much more hidden...one of the worst triple I’ve ever tasted
3.1Bottle pours out a crisp gold topped with a small white head. Nose is sweet caramel malts belg yeast. Taste is as the nose sweet malts bread and some yeast.
3.1Dendermonde Tripel, bottle 330 ml at home, into a tulip glass. ABV 8%
Bright golden orange colour on the body, crystal clear. Two fingers of white head, thick but with low average retention, leaving light lacing around the glass and some big bubbles on the surface.
Aroma has some alcohol, sugar and faint fruity notes, mostly peaches.
Taste is rather alcoholic, sweet with some caramel, quite malty. Peachy notes again.
Medium thin body, notable carbonation.
Overall an average one, drinkable but at the same time generic.
3.0Not a very exciting tripel, quite mediocre in all aspects. Brewed for the lager-loving masses I think.
2.0Aroma rather musty and stale. Flavour initially cardboard and wet dog before the extreme syrupy sweetness kicks in.
2.4Yellow with a white head. Aroma is grainy with some biscuit malt, a lot of sugar and some alcohol. Flavor is similar. I get a little bit of orange and lemon, but what really comes through is some strong grain and malt notes. Also get some yeast. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
3.0Clear goldblond coloured beer with small white head and lots of carbonation. Hoppy fruited aroma apple hinted aroma. Medium sparkling palate. Finish is hopped bitter ending dry.
3.1Bottle. Both smell and taste reminded me immediately of mead. Very sweet, honey-like. Not bad, but did not resemble much of a triple. Although sweet this was quite drinkable.
