2.9 Bottle: light amber with thin beige head. Aroma is caramel and bisquits with a soft floral note. Flavor has a dry grainy bitterness, some hay, a touch of caramel, and a mild floral hop ending. Ok beer a little blah on flavor and bitter seems a little out of balance.
2.7 Pours an amber color with a copper hue. Aroma is mildly floral with a slight sweetness to it. Taste is bitter but dissipates quickly. Tastes more like a weak IPA than an amber.
3.3 Soft amber, creamy off white head. Nose is roasted malt and muted hops. Slightly bitter on the tongue. Bitterness grows through the middle (they like their hops earlier in the boil). Finish is bitter and pleasant.
3.1 Non l’ho trovata nulla di eccezzionale, aromatica si e anche saporita, strana, non mi ha convinto.
3.4 Ar: Toasted caramel, a bit of butterscotch, and some pineapple. Ap: Amber with a slight haze - small white head with moderate retention, some sticky lacing and foam left behind. T: Caramel and a touch of butterscotch up front - some floral notes and hints of orange marmalade - red apple - medium bitterness with a warm bread notes on the finish. P: Medium body with medium-high carbonation - finish is medium-dry. O: Solid amber ale - nice malt backbone, well-rounded, and some bright and tasty hop notes.
3.6 Tastes just like a strong English Ale. Body is malt and bitterness with warmth from hops rather than crisp aromatics. Alcohol is subdued and finish is long. Would be an excellent beer to start the evening with.
3.3 Easy drinking amber ale, rusty colored and refreshingly smooth mouthfeel. Nonetheless, it’s forgettable. Like the 9th guy in a batting order, this one filled out the remainder of my 6 glass sampler order. I’d like to try this one out of the bottle, since it’s a bit of a delicate flower that needs undivided attention.
3.5 Nice hoppy aroma slight malty smell. A hazy deep amber color with a small off white head. A grratnhop flavor. Not too bitter and a slight malty flavor with earthy notes. Itsa light/medium bodied brew with good carb. Overall its a fantastic brew great flavor id buy this over and over. For an amber its a bit to bitter and not as sweet as what id expect.
3.5 bel ambrato buona schiuma persistente maltata leggero miele un tocco erbaceo radice caramello ben maltata discrto luppolo ma il malto prevale con un nota quasi floreale
3.0 Bottle. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate balanced hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good soft brew.
3.2 Cloudy dark amber pour with a nice head on it. Smells like beer. A bit of malt, a bit of bitterness in the flavor, though neither last long. Its not bad, but nothing special.
2.5 22oz bottle. Amber pour with a small sized off white head. Aromas of vegetables that overpowers anything else. Tastes of caramel, toast, and citrus. Thankfully, vegetables only in the aromas.
3.4 On draught at Slice Parlor - Albuquerque. Pours a deep amber color with little head. Mild hoppy aroma. Medium body with hop over malt flavor balance. Nice maltiness and nice mellow hop flavor with just enough bitterness. A bit carbOnated. Nice.
4.2 Dark amber mahogany, good thick bubbly head. Pleasant malts, very slight citrus and hoppiness to it. A malty feint cherry aftertaste. Refreshing on a hot Arizona day. Deschutes always brings it fresh. Slight spiciness to it. When I had it on tap at Deschutes in Bend, the spiciness seemed a little more prominent. I’d raise it a few on tap, but the bottle out of state is still damn good.
3.5 Bottle I had with Mike and Susan. I confess, the appearance is just medium--I drank it from the bottle so I’m just guessing. Otherwise, nice malty ale with a good dose of grapefruity hop flavor. Nice.
3.3 Bottle-pours dark copper hue with a fizzy various bubble sizes eggshell head. nose is lots of toasted amber grains-many previous samples of this beer had infections, this one does not. nose also has lots of woody hops, earthy tones and lite dark fruits. Not a great beer however, definately better than the samples i had before (not even drinkable) Lots of earthy bitterness here-woody hops long on the finish along with toasted caramel malt notes. REally not a bad beer however, had some mineral aspects that detract on the flavors. Who cares if its organic- organic beers usually suck anyways.
3.1 amber coloured body with a off white head a spicy malty hoppy aroma a spicy malty fruity hoppy bitter taste with a spicy bitter finish
2.9 Pour is the color of an old penny with an off white head. Aroma is caramel and bread with some grassy notes. Flavor is light caramel, very hop forward and one dimensional.
3.8 Deschutes rarely, if ever, doesn’t please. I’m usually not a hops forward beer guy, but this is a good beer
3.1 Not bad at all. I dont get to try many organic ales. This one is clean, refreshing, easy to drink very fresh overall and the palate is gently layered with light hop flavor and then grain maltiness rushes over and balances it out.
3.8 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice reddish amber color. Thick off-white head, some lacing. Aroma is prominently caramel malt. Flavor is similar, with caramel and toffee notes very prominent. Overall I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It’s really an excellent beer, all the more so because it’s organic.
4.1 Bought a 12 FL. OZ. bottle of this from The Beer Shoppe in Yakima, WA for ????. Poured from the Green/Blue Labeled bottle w/ a Lake & Mountain on the front into a Yakima Tennis Club Beer Stein. Has BEST BY 07/10/12 0837 C on the side of the label too. Aroma- Has a ton of malt and sweetness to the aroma. Hops are in the background and seems organic with unfamiliar ingredient included! Appearance- Pours a 1.5 finger head that has good head retention. Has a good amber/copper colored body with good clarity. Leaves some lacing behind. Flavor- Very sweet and light floral hops seem to be most dominant. Has a fruity background and a slight light bitterness at the finish. Nice! Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Fruit and light hop finish, and very sweet with a complexed ending on the palate. Overall Impression- Very close to an American Pale ale with more sweetness and malt. I wish they distributed this to MO! One of my favorite go to brews from WA now. Grab some if you’ve never tried!
3.5 Draft. Hazy copper brown, dark pour with full head. Hardy malt and sweet hops, dry and tangy. Very good ale.
3.0 Pours a nice, deep amber. Has a rather flat almost spoiled taste. Not much hop flavor. Was hoping for more out of Deschutes.
1.1 This is nearly undrinkable. Dry grass and minimal hops, thin and watery, and what flavor is there is bad.
4.0 This Amber boarders on the side of a pale ale in taste... Actually I only realized it was an amber after they changed the label from "Organic Ale" to "Amber Ale".
3.3 Citrus, nutty, diacetyl. Kind of light-bodied - your typical banana-ish, Deschutes affair - yeasty, wheaty, malty. Does nothing really to separate itself from their other ales. A meh-er.
3.8 Very solid amber, which plays more like a pale ale with nice caramel malts. The palate is smooth and creamy, yet tangy and hoppy. Very complex, yet smooth mix of malts and hops. I could care less about the organic aspect of this beer, but regardless, this beer is very tasty.
3.7 Nice looking deep copper color, clear, good head and nice lacing, with rising bubbles. The smell is a bit subdued, but nice. Lots of bready and caramel malts. A bit of citrus. Tastes pretty good, hoppier in taste than you’d expect from the smell. Lots of maltiness, with bready and caramel malts taking center stage. A little earthy and a little bit tangy with pepper. Great body, very easy to drink, yet with a little bit of a crispy hops bite on the finish. Almost slick with maltiness. Overall it’s a very nice amber, well worth trying, especially if this is one of your favorite styles. I’ll definitely have this one again.
3.3 Bottle. Translucent amber pour. Aroma is lemon, dough, and apple. Taste is a lot of caramel and a little tartness.
