3.1Clear deep straw with very little white head. Dissapates with just a bit of lacing. Light hoppy aroma sweet fruity hops. Flavor balanced with just a light hop bite. Ok for a session but I like full on ipas.
3.4Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange peel, grass, light herbal notes into a bit of biscuit. Taste was a mix of floral, spicy, earthy hops into some slight citrus, hints of bread, finishing slightly bitter.
3.612 ounce bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. A little haze in this honey golden beer and a nice fluffy almost white three fingers of foam. Fruit smells great here. The aroma is not big but is pleasant. Nice fruit is tasted. I taste herbal and floral notes with light lemon and grapefruit. A little tropical underneath. Its not really fair to expect this beer to have a hop blast but it brings some nice flavors. Malts are soft and pale and do add some nice sweetness. I approve of this.
3.7Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours gold with a very robust white head. Great lacing. Nose is citrus. Medium body. Flavor is lemon. Touch of fruit. Finishes dry and bitter. Excellent session beer.
3.712 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a decent off-white head. Aroma is of lemon, grass, grain, grapefruit, and floral notes. Taste is of lemon, grass, oranges, and bitter florals.
2.8Decent session but just kinda flat in all aspects. Wasnt getting much lemon or grapefruit.
3.5Bottle from Beer Cartel 211016. This beer was a little underwhelming for me and while there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, it just wasn’t up to the standard that I have come to expect from Deschutes. I didn’t really get any lemon in either the aroma or flavour. Sessionable emough.
3.212oz. bottle. Hazy golden with a nice-sized off-white head. Aroma of lemon-flavored iced tea, grass, faint citrus. Taste follows nose, but with some added detergent/soap components that are detrimental to the overall flavor. Mildly bitter finish.
4.2Pours amber with a large lasting head.
Nose shows lemon tart, pine, peach and floral hops along with a soft clean sweetness.
Flavours include more lemon notes, hinting more at lemon leave rather than the fruit itself. Lots of green grass-liek notes along with some pine too.
3.5Aroma: lightly hoppy and lemony; Appearance: hazy orange pour with thin white head that lingers; Taste: follows nose with a malty backbone; Palate: medium body with long, sweet-bitter finish; Overall: very pleasant session IPA. Not overwhelmingly lemony, but it’s there. Would buy again.
3.0Smokey and spicy aroma, slightly grassy. Flavour a little bland for a deschutes IPA. Tastes far more grassy than fruity
1.6Bot. Cloudy, mild IPA aroma. Taste is simply big bitter dull hop impact with a vegie backbone. Some co2 makes it palatable but that doesn’t cure the mouth coating effects of this stuff. Soapy IPA fer sure. If you like IPA you gotta try this. Packs quite a punch. You’d never know it was less than 5%. Long bitter taste bud ruining brew.
2.7Hop herbal fruit malt aroma. Murky Amber colour great head and lacing. Malt herbal fruit citrus flavour. Smooth palate.
3.8Had a few session IPA’s now and this is lovely and fresh with a great hop profile, refreshing, nothing too complex and short length
3.5On tap at Old Chicago Westminster poured a hazy tarnished gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of caramel, fruitiness and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, pine and a hint of citrus with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.
3.4On tap. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a medium, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Sweet, fruity, floral aroma of citrus fruit rinds, tropical fruit and pale malt. Sweet flavour of lemon, grapefruit, pale malt, pine and grass with a dry, bitter, hop resin finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Pretty solid.
3.4On tap at Hughies. Pours a hazy orange gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is citrus and floral. Medium body, lemon, pine, light bitterness, good.
3.0A 355ml bottle with a best before date of 5th October 2016 and poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It poured a clear golden colour with some orange hue. There was a big three finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aromas of lemon, tea, sweet mandarin, bready and dish soap. Tastes of lemon zest, citrus rind, bready, light caramel malt and floral sweetness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall this was not bad, but I couldn’t really get around the aromas here. The dish washing detergent I use has a lemony smell, which is fine for washing dishes, but not something I want to drink. So getting that smell on the finish just didn’t work for me.
3.2Hazy tan. Medium head. The aroma has a fair bit of hop - floral, honeyish and that lemon shows through, too. Light body, lots of bitterness.
3.3Tasted on tap at Lucky’s Market, hazy orange with weak off-white foam, lots of lace. Exactly as described. A crisp and refreshing sessionable IPA. Typical American hop profile: citrusy, fruity, dank and musky. Light body and ABV, high carbonation. Good, not flawed, but not memorable.
3.9Fairly floral aroma. Fresh, crisp finish. I really enjoyed this lighter side of typical IPAs. Just plain tasty with a nice kick of lemon.
3.6Tasted on a work trip to Chicago. Aroma of citrus hops. Taste is light bready with a mild citrus bitterness. Well balanced. Crisp in the finish.
3.5Bottle - good size foamy head that stays around for a while, medium copper color, moderate lemon and citrus hop aroma and flavor, good bready malt backbone, very good overall
3.4Bottle. Pale amber with a little haze. Large rather frothy white head. Sherbety Meyer lemon aroma with some crackers, a touch of strawberry and tropical fruit. The lemon is not quite as dominant in the taste but provides a little punch. There’s a decent pale ale with thinnish but adequate malt - cracker, just a little toffee. Dryish with medium high bitterness for the body. Citrus right through. Very refreshing. I am an absolute sucker for Meyer lemons, but this was pretty good for a New World Radler.
3.4Draft. Golden pour with white head. Herbal, grassy, light malt aromas. Flavors are malty, some herbal and grassy tones.
3.6Enjoyed on tap at Crown Liquors in Chicago, IL while watching a hot dog eating competition. I didnt take tasting notes, but remember this beijg a nice very sessionable IPA with a heavy leaning on citrusy hops. Good stuff, nothing that stands out but overall enjoyable.
3.3Pours a clear medium golden with almost no bubbles appearing in the beer. Head is more substantial than many session beers I have had and craters nicely. Looks a little more substantial than most sessions. Aroma of lemon and apricot. Very smooth in the mouth but it has a bit of a wheat aftertaste that I don’t love. The hops come through a bit, but the mouth feel of this beer is probably better than the flavor.
3.7Bottle into IPA glass. Pours a hazy golden colour with white head. Aroma is lemon and grapefruit. Taste is citrus with a little toasty malt.
3.4Bottle from GBBF 2016 and drunk at home. Deep amber colour clear, lasting off white head. Citrusy aroma, some lemon on the finish. Rather good session ipa I thought. The malt is enough, the hops are quite bitter but not over the top. The lemon finish is dry and lasts and lasts. It’s got a little toffee. Doesn’t really go anywhere, but it’s quite refreshing for first beer of the evening. It’s fine.
4.0Bright copper color. White head. Cool fruity bitter palate with a lot body but full flavor. Very good session IPA.
