Destihl Wild Sour Series: Here Gose Nothin'

Destihl Wild Sour Series: Here Gose Nothin'

Our Leipzig-style Gose is pleasantly acidic with lime-like tartness and a little funk from our unique, indigenous mixed culture kettle souring process, all balanced by the spicy character of added coriander and a mineral-mouthfeel from the addition of hand-harvested French grey sea salt.

3.5 At Bier Baron Tavern. Poured a very clear yellow color with a not much of a head to speak of in this particular glass. Aroma was light sour, light tartness. Some mild salinity, coriander. Very light. Decent.

3.8 Good gose aroma, plenty of lime and sea salt. Bland color, see through with a bright white head. Very tart with a refreshing aftertaste. Bubbly palate. Very good take on the style. Destihl really has something special with their wild sour series.

3.6 Superb refreshing rhubarb, some tropical fruits, light sweet with light tartness. Nice refreshing brew
3.4 Sample at SBWF 2018. Golden with a minmal head. Aroma of lemon, salt and hints of funk. The same in the taste. Soft and easy to drink with a light body.
4.8 One of the most sour, flavorful goses on the market. Perfect cloudy yellow color, medium head. Somewhat cheesy aroma, heavy sour and overall really delightful. A must for people who like more sour beers than hoppy.
3.7 Can at home boughtfrom honestbrew.co.uk. pours golden in colour with head that disappears very quickly. Dont pick up on the coriander but getting lots of salt and sour tastes also getting some lime
1.7 Found from can from brewpub, pours a golden orange hue. Strong smell but very sour. It overwhelms the taste its so sour.

1.5 330ml can (thanks FatPhil). Pale yellow color. Straight from the can. Dirty milky dish cloth in aroma. Dirty dish cloth in taste. Can't drink it. Trying not to vomit. My thing. Nope.

3.2 6Jul2018 Salty sour lime juice, lemon peel, acidic. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Medium sour. More sour citrus fruits, lime and lemon juice, acidic, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Nothing special. Keg at The Bottle Shop, Bermondsey.
3.2 Can:   Straw, slight orange, thin soapy head, no lacing.   Bright salty and dry/tart nose.   Very tart and salty up front, with a mealy background.   Mealiness really picks up as it lingers.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Salty and mealy finish, tart, a little dry.   Wished it werent so mealy.
4.0 Very pleasing aroma of citrus with a splash of the dead sea. Almost a dirty olive aftertaste of the almost briny salt, it dances on your tongue giving you a sense of reckless abandoned glee to dive into the next can. Smooth coriander undertones are a delight, what a great find!
3.8 Smells extremely sour and lactic, fast dissipating head. Very sour beer, nice light wheaty flavour with lactic acid. Fairly clean for the style and a little briny. Good bracing gose.
3.7 Pours gold into a tulip. No head whatsoever. Lemon and funk aromas. Tart cranberry and lemon lime upfront turning to a lacto saltwater finish.
4.0 Almost a lemon citrus and lactic sour aroma. Sour maybe 4 or 5 of 10 and all lactic. Sour for a gose and with nice body. Lemon citrus and lactic sour is nice. Maybe slight salty finish. Really enjoyable gose.
3.8 Pours gold with a quickly fading head. Nose shows lemon, elderflower, soft wheat notes and soft melon. Very sour flavours with big lemon and lime notes along with some soft wheat. Crazy sour.
4.5 Slightly hazy copper and bronze glowing orange coloured body with a nice and relatively slow-dying off-white head about two centimetres tall. Aroma of sour funk, grass, tart limes, lemons, grapefruit and a dose of pure sour candy like warheads - very nice and mouthwatering. Light-bodied; Super tart and very gueuze like flavour with a bunch of wheat and some brett and lactic sourness going on, but this is even deeper with a fruit or very pungent sour quality that hits the back of the palate - all with a touch of sweetness, but a very nice and incredibly complex sour flavour throughout. Aftertaste shows more ridiculously elegant Cantillon or Drie Fontein than a beer from Illinois, USA, but in a blind test, you'd say that this was easily Belgian. Overall, this is incredibly complex, super soured and tart and amazingly good for the price, the style and the origin (no offense to Illinois). Definitely worth going way WAY out of your way to find or acquire this, unless I got some magic batch and/or I aged it for the perfect amount of time, but this is a great beer and drinks like a Gueuze for five times the price or a Sour Ale that drinks for four times this price. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Spec's Liquour in Dallas, Texas on 01-September-2015 for US$2,83 sampled at home in Washington a bit after tow years later on 15-December-2017.
