Deya Steady Rolling Man 2016-

Deya Steady Rolling Man 2016-

This beer is a heavily hopped and aromatic pale ale which toasts to the folks who were the soundtrack to our brew sessions. Having fallen hook, line and sinker for ridiculously tasty hoppy beers, we got brewing our own versions, over and over, while we listened to the blues greats. The heady concoction of old time blues records and juicy American hops transfixed us from the start and the Steady Rolling Man was born in these sessions! This is our flagship product, one that has been shaped by countless iterations and a vision of what a brilliant, refreshing, clean, delicate and hoppy pale ale is. Enjoy!

3.9 On tap @Gaztambirra, Madrid. 18/03/2022. Color amarillo corona de espuma blanca aromas frutales, lupulada, sabor frutal, pino, lupulada.
3.5 Good, not sweet but still a bit balanced, more fruity taste.
3.9 500ml can from Wee Beer Shop, Glasgow (£5.80): Hazy golden with a foamy white head just over 1cm tall with bubbles through it, okay retention & quite a still body. Floral notes open the nose, it's fresh & slightly juicy with mango, citrus, lemon, light pine, grapefruit & peach atop a sweet base. The taste is dry w mango, pine hops & citrus to start, some biscuit malts & a tiny bit of sweetness again. Its quite sharp with fine carbonation & a nice balance; a good first beer from the brewery for me.
3.6 Copenhagen 11/2 2022. 50 cl can from Mikkeller webshop. Pink can with a simple drawing of a blues musician, a guitar and a wreath. Pours unclear - almost hazy - yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as a thin, almost transparent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of tropical fruits and sweet citrus fruit. Mingling with tart citric notes. Peach and sweet blood orange. Hints of lemonade. Citrus and lemon giving a tart streak. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a distinct sweet undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry. Nice but a bit generic.
3.6 Almost clear golden color with a medium lacing off-white head. Aroma has tropical fruits, grass and caramel. Taste is fruity with long bitter and quite dry aftertaste. Flavors of grapefruit, grass, caramel and malt.
4.1 At Hawkes House on tap

3.8 On tap at the Crafty Duck, Hertford on 31st August 2021. Hazy amber with shallow whitish foam and full lacing. Soft fruits and citrus in aroma. Sweetened lemon citrus in-mouth, with a scattering of spices. Juicy lemon and grapefruit peel in the finish. Light bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.
4.0 All Deya beers just really good isn't it? I think all their beer is basically the best example of whatever it is they've brewed. No exception here. Smashing.
3.6 500ml can from Honest Brew and my first Deya. Hazy straw/yellow colour with moderate sized white head, nice retention and lacing. Aroma is a big melting pot of citrus, tropical and floral noted hops, semi-sweet, some green earthiness. Taste is mango, peach, passionfruit, greenery, quite aromatic and sweet. Light bodied, soft carbonation. A touch too much on the aromatic hop side for me so can't give it a 4+ but nonetheless its a good beer.
3.0 On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich Pours a cloudy / murky lemon yellow with an ice-cream style white head and good lacing. The aroma is a melange of tropical fruits. In the mouth the tedxture is cramy with more torpical fruit, peaches, mango and pineapples, with a few hints of spices. Hoppiness comes through at the finish. Not my usual sort of beer, but this is quite nice. Restrained and not in your face.
