As a style porters aren’t the biggest name in beer (not really close though they should be) but this brew is a big contender among culinary journalists, reviewers, and beer geeks. It’s got a big dark bouquet of chocolate, coffee and caramel and has a smooth finish. A Powerhouse of a Porter.

3.512 oz. bottle. Pour is a deep dark blackish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is espresso and bitter chocolate. Taste is similar, starts out bitter with coffee and smooths out into some chocolatey sweetness and finishes pretty dry with a slight hop note. Decent porter.
3.65/3/2014. on tap at the brewery. Dark brown with a tan head. Chocolate aromas with dark fruit and hints of coffee. Robust and well balanced. My favorite of the line up.
3.1[Bottle] Pours a very deep shade of brown. Little head. Roasted malts and light anise in the aroma. The taste is roasty, with chocolate and weak coffee notes. Earthy finish, with peat standing out. Very thin. I wish they body was a bit more robust; it would have made this beer much better. Tasting notes from 11/2011.
3.0Bottle courtesy of Atom. Thanks so much!! Pours a dark brown with a thin khaki head. Not too much retention or lacing. Aromas of cocoa, faint roasted malts and light vanilla. Taste is faint/flat chocolates, with the same roasted nuttiness from the nose. Not a whole lot going on here, a bit flat, thin and watery across the backend. Was hoping for a bit more "paradise", but still very glad to have tried it!
3.6Bottle, has sat around for a while, but fairly climate controlled at least. Pours dark ruby black, medium brown head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is quite chocolatey, roast, ashtray. Flavor is medium sweet, chocolate, light bitter. Not bad at all, actually. Medium body, nice effort.
2.9Aroma: Slightly sweet chocolate with just a touch of vanilla; roast comes out in equal proportion, but it seems astringent. Appearance: Opaque black with foamy tan head that settles into a thin film. Flavor: More astringent roast than chocolate; fairly dry and lightly earthy finish. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Average porter with a couple good points here and there.
4.0Black pour with a thin permanent foamy beige head. The nose is wonderous with notes of chocolate and light coffee, under light roastiness. The taste is roasty with some earthy coffee bean notes, bitter cocoa tones, and a smooth full body that’s a little smokey, like a touch of tobacco.
2.7Pours a medium to light brown with a khaki lacing. Chocolate, rubber coffee.
2.9It poured a dark brown color with a beige head. The aroma was of cocoa and coffee; earthy, and a touch vegetal. It had a medium body with a dull tingle. The taste was of chocolate, coffee and some hay. It had a little bitter finish with hints of citrus. Decent.
3.1Pours dark brown. Some chocolate and coffee on the nose and on the palate. Somewhat sweet. Ok beer.
3.6Nice roasted caramel and fine balance of malts. This is a tasty porter but doesn't finish either quite as clean as some porters note as richly as others, staking a happy but not delicious medium.
3.6Roasted chocolate taste., Brown foamy head that held well., Dark medium body with medium sweetness, lightly bitter. Somewhat slick feel soft carbonation, Mildly bitter. Overall, a very nice tasting porter.
3.3Pours deep dark brown with a khaki head. Aroma is roast, milk chocolate, caramel and earthy. Taste is sweet with moderate roasty bitters. Medium bodied with a thin mouth feel.
3.2BOTM club. Pours a translucent brownish black from the bottle with fluffy tab head that dissipates to leave good lacing. Aroma is chocolate, toasted dark barley, and fresh grain. Taste is grain heavy porter, light on the tongue. Decent, but underwhelming.
3.3Pours a cola color with half a finger light brown head. Aroma mostly roasted malts, and a touch of licorice. Taste of coffee, cola, licorice, with some alcohol and then hops on the finish. It's a solid porter - very true to the style.
3.16/15/2011: Diamond Bear Paradise Porter... Aroma: Black roasted malts, cocoa, licorice twist. Appearance: Dark brown, mostly opaque, thin beige crown. Flavor: Sweet caramel syrup, dry, dusty bittersweet cocoa in the middle; chocolate and a flash of hops and bitterness in the finish; quite balanced in flavors and bitterness; burned cigar aftertaste. Palate: Medium-light to medium body; prickly carbonation; mostly smooth. Overall: Fairly decent, but seems to lack a bit of body.
12 fl. oz. bottle shared by alexsdad06. Thanks Brad! Rating #123 for this beer.
3.8Astringency coffee front. Chocolate is there. Dessert in a bottle. Received as part of the beer of the month 12 pack. Definitely tastes great!
3.9A great porter, and the best beer from our beer club membership in the last year. Pours a muddy black with little head. Smells awesome, very fruity with lots of vanilla and cinnamon. Taste is not as fruity, but very creamy with lots of malty vanilla in the finish. Great sweet aftertaste. Had in the bottle.
3.5It’s strange I read a few reviews and no one mentioned the strong notes of cola, but in a really good way. The coffee taste is there, which is obvious, but the cola notes are special. Maybe I’m biased being originally from Arkansas, but this is a god beer. It’s not exceptional, but a solid porter.
4.2Bottle - from Ale in the Mail. Very dark - nearly opaque. Aroma is mostly roasty but with some malt and hops. Very good - good blend of roastiness, hops and malt. Good example of a porter.
3.2Aroma of dark rotates malt. Pours a dark blackish brown with khaki ring and slight lacing. The taste is roasted malted, fruit and hints grain. Bitter finish /aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, a respectable bitter porter.
3.212oz bottle 7/21/13 (Judicious Spirits-Mountain Home)-42° in Hurricane Glass-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, and chocolate. Taste of a little malt and sweetness. This light to medium bodied brew was a little weak and boring.
2.5Alot of coffee taste. A little sour in the middle. Very thin head. But great, but at least I crossed off Arkansas finally. Thanks Erin.
2.1Seemed a bit flat and without the characteristic strength of flavor that I expect in porter. On tap. Need to try again

Clear dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, hoppy scent. Sweet, roasted taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
2.8Draft at flying saucer little rock. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Slight roasted notes on the nose. A bit of malt on the tongue. Boring!
3.2bottle. deep brown, nearly black with one finger head. very dry. roasted malt and medium body. ok.
3.4Bottle from a trade with Pawola22. Pours very dark brown color with tan head. Aromas of chocolate and roasted malt with hints of coffee. Bitter roasted malt and chocolate flavors and slightly ashy. Medium body with minimal carbonation. Thanks Brian.
3.1Taste at the brewery. Black and clear, of course. Laces well, irregular head. Tastes "thin", slight aroma, not particularly impressive, although you can take a little hops. Doesn’t sit poorly on the tongue. I think it’s the best Diamond Bear has to offer.
3.435,5cl Bottle @ RBBSG, Courtesy of Travlr. Darker brown to black coloured beer with a small off white head. Light roasted malty sweet and light caramel alcoholic hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is raterh light, short malty with a light malty roasted hint. Medium. Lack in depth.
