Dick's I.P.A.

Dick's I.P.A.

This crisp, hoppy Northwest IPA features Centennial, Cascade and Columbus hops that impart strong citrus hop flavors and aromas.
Our Northwest IPA is balanced nicely with the use of crystal and victory malt. We finished this fine IPA with a heavy dose of dry hopping to lock in the all the intense flavors and aromas. This IPA is sure to satisfy the hop heads of the Northwest, so sit back and enjoy.

2.5 Below average IPA. Pours nice orange with thick white head that lingers. Not much for aroma. Taste is boring, not too hoppy or much to it. Drank it fine but didn't enjoy it by any means
2.7 Bottle. Not much to this India Pale Ale. Some citrus, pine and caramel. The balance is alright, but the brew is overall weak and thin. Finish has a light bitterness to it.
2.9 Bottle. Looked good. Smelled good. Taste? I don’t know what happened. Poured a nice orange color with a good two finger off white head that did retain throughout the entire beer. Did leave light lacing on the glass as it went. Aroma was decent like you’d expect from an ipa. Good hop smell. Grapefruit, citrus and pine. Then you take your first drink and what happened. Weak watery flavor. Soup and metallic. Tastes like dish soap. Not a good flavor for an ipa. Too thin. Average for ipa.
3.7 Pretty hard to find taste in an ipa. Very enjoyable. Has a very good after taste as well
1.8 One of the worst IPA’s I’ve had in a long time. Bottle was incredibly over-carbonated, took 5 minutes to pour. Had a light clear copper hue. Hops very dry but not very bitter. Skip this one, I wish I did.
3.4 A: Golden-amber body. Thick off-white head quickly receded leaving some light lacing. S: Light citrus-pine hop notes. Semi-sweet caramel malts. Subtle, but nice. T: The citrus and pine hop bitterness gets drowned out by sweet caramel malt at times, diminishing the flavor profile slightly. M: Solid, medium bodied brew. Good carbonation levels and a clean, bitter finish. O: A good all around IPA... more reminiscent of east coast IPAs than a west coast brew. The malt presence is a slight hindrance.
2.3 Tried this one because I like their Grand Cru, Imperial Red, ad Scottish ales, and because my buddy dislikes this beer. Since we often disagree, I thought it might have potential. I was wrong. In an age of wonderfully interesting IPAs, this one comes off as lacking in aroma, taste, and palate. Like so many IPAs that i do not like, this one was all about, and only about, bitterness. Boring. Will not be giving this one another chance.
3.6 pour from 22oz. poured orange/golden color with lacey, off white head. cirtus hop scent and super hop taste. very fine taste of pines and grass. just the right pince in hte mouth into a smooth texture. overall impressed as I passed this one up at the store a few times. glad i made the grab
3.5 Bottle. Pours a nice orange with a medium head and aromas of lemony citrus and a little grassy herbal edge. Flavor is similar. It’s a little underpowered for an IPA in my book, but is still a very nice and clean beer.
3.1 Bomber. Pours a solid orange highlighted golden color with lots of active carbonation and massive sea foam head. The aromatic notes are predominately barley malt and yeast with a little bit of apricot and citrus. The taste has a much more noticeable hops presence with primarily herbal and resiny flavors at the front along with some orange blossom honey and dried pineapple at the end. There’s also a subtle bready malt and yeast component in the background. The body has moderate carbonation with a clean, bitter finish and a slightly fruity aftertaste. The overall flavor needs a little more hops bitterness and caramel malt to balance out the fruity sweetness.
3.7 On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours an amber orange color with an off-white foam head. An aroma of grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Sweet caramel taste with a smooth hop hit. Resiny bite on backend.
1.9 Tap at Pacific Standard. The pour is a hazy, poo orange with no head and no lace. Probably the ugliest IPA I’ve ever seen. The aroma is all stale hoppy with cheese and rotting berries. Taste is dry, soapy, muddy, just on the grasping edge of IPA. Sucked dick.
2.3 Bottle served in a tulip. Excellent pour. Dark orange-brown with a light beige head. Good retention and lacing. Nose is not great. Soy sauce with some grassy hop bitterness, and a little skunk. Salty, bitter flavor. Medium body, soy again on the sticky middle, and an astringent finish. This is either a bad bottle or a bad IPA. Can’t recommend.
3.3 whole foods has it right down the street for 6.99 so it’s a shame it’s not better. just not that great.
3.3 Draft. Lagering, bright sour pour. Honey, spritely carbonation. Honey and some rough hopping over stronger pale malts. Hopped pale.
4.0 12oz. Bottle. (From my blackberry). Pours golden/amber, clear with a thick and frothy head. Taste is very refrehing, bitter and lively. Very good beer.
3.0 (bottle, courtesy of riversideAK, sampled 4/10/10). Copper color, with light cloudiness. Small off white head. Light earthy hop aroma and flavor, with light sweetness. Avg duration. Moderate bitter finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.
3.4 355 ml bottle. 5.5%. From Seattle, WA, USA. Hazy light brown colour with tiny to small off-white head. Sweet caramel malty aroma with dark bitter hops. Dark bitter hops, grapefruit and some malt sweetness in rather balanced flavour.
2.8 Perfectly average IPA. Pleasant to drink, nothing notable. Mild aroma, mildly bitter.
3.1 Bottle. Orange amber, creamy compact head. Aroma of citrus fruit, light pine, and a little plastic. Sweet toffee malts, citrus rind, resin, and a little band-aid plastic note. Finishes with astringent green-stick bitterness. I think this is on the verge of being past its prime, with the plasticcy phenols lurking in here.
3.1 Bottled, from Spokane, WA. Clear dark amber, small head. Aroma of pine and pear. Sweet with some caramel biulding a rounded mid-sized, rather dense body. Long perfumy, resiny bitterness. The hop’s comes across a little bit harsh.
2.8 Not a great beer at all, not terrible, I wouldnt buy it again. I was expecting substantially more.
3.1 12 oz bottle. Cloudy amber/orange with lots of yeast sediment and a big thick fluffy beige head. Grapefruit aroma with some other citrus and mild caramel. Bitter hop flavor up front with some light sweetness and a dry bitter finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice dry sessionable IPA, the yeast kind of muddied the flavors though.
3.0 From a bottle. A good IPA - nice bitter finish. Nothing particularly outstanding, but very drinkable.
2.7 12oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with a limited head. Aroma is one-dimensional: hops with perhaps a hint of yeast. The taste is, frankly, quite unpleasant I get an initial taste of salty, burnt malt followed by an unbalanced blast of hops that are more rank than bitter. Palate is watery. A considerable disappointment.
3.5 Pours clear dark orange with a thick frothy white head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, caramel, orange peel. Taste is sprucey, resin on the finish. Good flavor and balance I think.
3.4 12 oz. bottle- Pours darker golden with a thin head, aroma is pine and hops and some citrus. The flavor is a somewhat heavy, not malty IPA, very hoppy and the alcohol really comes through. An average IPA, so far not too impressed with this brewery.
2.3 12 oz bottle, decent hop aroma but the flavor is really flat and just plain bitter and hop water.
3.5 Hazy amber with an off white head and spotty lace. Aroma is spicy & grainy. Grapefruit, corn, zesty citrus and floral notes. Bitter dry finish
3.8 Bottle shared by jbye4334. Pours clear, dark amber with a medium, creamy, off-white head, good retention. Aroma is medium sweet caramel-toffee malt, moderate hops (pine, citrus, floral) with light fruity esters and alcohol. Flavor is medium sweet malt, bread, high hop flavor, moderate bitterness, light fruity esters, and some alcohol. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.
