Diebels Alt
DIEBELS Alt is brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516. Under this "Reinheitsgebot", only four ingredients are allowed: Barley malts, hops, yeast, and water. The dark-roasted special malt lends DIEBELS its unmistakable amber glow.

Bottle. Clear amber.
Nutty, light caramel, malty.
A little sweet, mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Unremarkable.
Color cobrizo transparente con espuma beige media de buena retención y residuo medio. Aroma a malta tostada y minerales con notas a centeno y ligera hierba seca o tierra húmeda. Sabor a malta tostada, pan multicereales, minerales y madera con notas a resina y tierra. Dulzor y alcohol medio-ligeros y amargor medio con regusto medio. Textura acuosa, cuerpo ligero y carbonatación media.

Röstig süßlich im Geruch. Im Glas bernsteinfarben mit einer feinporigen Schaumkrone. Der Antrunk ist nussig, röstmazlig. Der Hopfen kommt dennoch durch. Feinperlig.

500ml Bottle - Copper brown with a foamy head. Bready malts, honey and syrup in the aroma. Rye bread, raisins and caramel in the taste. Hint of honey in the finish.

Dark brown a bit unclear with a light brown head. Smells of toast, basement, tobacco and herbs. Soft carbonation light sweet and then getting a nice bitterness.
Dark, dangerous and decent. Had it from my home pump at 3c which is possibly a touch too cold for this but enjoyable nonetheless. Like John Smith's but with more pazazz.

500 ml bottle, served in my beloved Mikkeller Viking Kölsch glass. Clear brown, big stable fluffy head. Caramel, dry citrus notes, light metallic hops, some nuts. Dry bitterness, light malty sweetness. Light bodied, oily watery texture, soft to lively carbonated, dry bitter finish. Good, very easy to drink!

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe and drunk on 14/11/2006. My first Alt, I think. Nice and malty, with a crisp finish. Like a cleaner tasting bitter.
Draught. Pours clear brown with a large, creamy off-white head, long retention with good lacing. Medium toasted bread malt, a clean lager character, light nuttiness, light earthy hops and hop bitterness, and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate.
