Dieu du Ciel! Aphrodisiaque

Dieu du Ciel! Aphrodisiaque

Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

3.8 Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with cocoa, vanilla, some coffee, nuts, touch of marshmallow. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Medium body. Wonderful Stout, bittersweet with plenty of roast, cocoa, vanilla. Good!
4.4 A 341ml bottle brought from Bishop's Cellar in Halifax & poured at home in Jersey, Channel Islands. It pours a dark brown with a beige head. Aromas & tastes of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla and hints of bourbon whisky. Considering I'm not a lover of stouts in general, this was delicious in taste & simply outstanding overall.
4.2 Bottle 0,341 ltr: Opaque black coloured brew with an heavy dry bitter taste with hints of roasted malts, cacao, vanilla an a touch of bourbon.
4.6 Color negro, opaca. Textura semioleosa.
4.4 I have purchased this beer, at the moustache blanche, Paris, for my birthday, at june 2018. Drinking and savouring this beer step by step, at my room, at Paris, mercure gare de Lyon. In my point of view, it is a great and powerful stout, so enjoyable, a grand cru with a powerful and black body, normal carbonation, thin white and brown foam. You get powerful notes of roasted malt, coffee, dry, dark chocolate, hop, so aromatic in the mouth, highly recommended.
5.0 Pours dark brown with little beige foam. Fragrance of coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and a good base of dark fruit. On the palate, toasting, cocoa, vanilla, tobacco and light hops.
Finale molto pulito. Struttura con corpo medio e tondo, carbonazione media bassa. Buona!
3.6 From a bottle Dated 2-23-17 Black pour with a thin ring of tan bubbles. Plenty of dark roast and some biter chocolate. Well attenuated and not very "big" feeling. Mellowed IBU bitterness. And lingering cold campfire notes. Quite good.
4.2 (Thanks, Jim! "ozzy70") Bottle. A- Chocolate cake, vanilla. A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head. T- Chocolate, vanilla, slightly sweet, roasty, mocha. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Very good for a lighter abv stout. Not big on booze and not filled with tons of adjuncts. Almost tastes like German chocolate cake. Really tasty.
4.0 Bottle. Black pour, nice tan foam. Aroma of cocoa, vanilla, rich roasted malts. Great rich taste, not too sweet, vanilla balanced out by deep dark chocolate malts, smooth medium body, perfect level of bitterness. Lovely stuff.
3.5 Bottle.Black colour with medium beige head.Aroma of chocolate and vanilla creamy and smooth with mild mouth feel and creamy finish.
4.7 Color negro, opaca.
4.1 Pours itch black, large tan head with gorgeous lacing. Aroma of roasted barley, cocoa and strong vanilla. Tastes quite bitter, strong roastiness, toasted barley, roasted cocoa nibs, vanilla and a little bit of a grassy finish. Slick mouth feel, light carbonation, easy to drink. Solid stout with slice of chocolate cake in it. A great drop!
3.9 Black with thin head. Aroma has lots of caramel and vanilla. Flavour is similar but balanced out by heavily roasted malts and dark chocolate.
3.9 341ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a moderate light beige head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. Cacao, vanilla and rye bread in the aroma. Mild herbal hops up front, bittersweet cacao, vanilla, espresso to finish. Very nice.
4.0 On tap on nitro at Brewski. Pours dark brown w/dense creamy tan head. I had this following their Isseki Nicho and this has many of the same elements. I get a lot of dark cherry in both aroma and taste, creamy malt and subtle bitterness in the finish
3.7 Kran, Muted Horn. W aromacie głównie kawa, delikatna czekolada. W smaku kawowe, dość lekkie.
4.2 Bue en bouteille 33cl au Délirium Café (Caen) DLC: 16/10/2019 Nez de fort cacao. Robe noire.
2.6 Served in a balloon glass at Las Buenas Pulgas. Black colour, small beige head with short retention. Small lacing. Not much aroma, some chocolate, roasted malts, coconut and a hint of vanilla. Medium to light body, thin texture, flat carbonation. Roasted finish. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's something I can't fiebre it out and I don't like. A bit of a deception to me.
3.5 Nice sudle beer with hints of chocolate. Not as much vanilla and chocolate as i would like but not a bad light beer.
3.5 Decent flavour but lacks punch
3.3 Data do 12.02.2019r (tydzień przed końcem daty).
3.9 19/1/2019. Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds shared at the second Kesgrave 50/50 bottle share. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Dry, roasted, bitter finish. Very good.
3.8 Black, small beige head. Aroma has coffee, chocolate, hints of vanilla, boozy notes. Coffee flavour, roast and a little licorice. Some cocoa too and slightly boozy warmth. Lasting coffee bitterness. Rating #6000.
3.9 Black color with an average beige head. Malty, roasted malts, plenty of vanilla, cacao powder, black coffee, slightly bitter, good.
