Dieu du Ciel! Corne du Diable
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Caña en el Lúpulo Oviedo 01..06.. 2018. (r1044 ). Color ámbar tostado oscuro cobrizo turbio con espuma blanca hueso. Sabores maltosos resinosos secos con amargo final resinoso duradero y seco. Te deja la lengua bastante seca, resinos a y con ganas de beber un buen trago de agua. Cuerpo medio a intenso algo denso y espumoso. Buena, peculiar, para repetir.
Bouteille 341 ml. Bouquet très subtil de plusieurs arômes, orange, gomme de sapin, pain grillé, mais rien qui ne ressort franchement. En bouche c'est sec, on sent plus le grillé et le houblon tranche en gardant le tout très sec et amer. La finale est résineuse et amère. Une bière de soir, absolument pas désaltérante, pour quand on a envie de siroter doucement. C'est bien réussi, mais j'aime moins le côté très résineux qui reste en bouche.
Pours pale amber color. Pleasant hop aroma, floral, nectar, fruity. Taste has malt, sweet nectar, fruits, good and fresh hop bitterness.
Bottled @ Bishops Arms, Hornsgatan. Pours hazy amber, dense and lasting tanned head, good lacing. Pine aroma, earthy, caramel malty. Full bodied, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid malty backbone and earthy and pine bitter hops, sweet and bitter citrus, hints of caramel. Long bitter finish.
slightly hazy amber color. Dank nose with lots of apricots and grapefruit. Big malty backbone with big hop bitterness. Nice stuff
Decent (as spoken in Bubbles’ voice) head and foggy dark red body. Soft aroma of hops mixed with brown sugar. Flavour is a soft melange of wafer with hop notes. Sweet finish. Kind of a unique IPA but not too complex.
Ambra torbida con schiuma quasi assente. Al naso non eccelle causa età, sentori erbacei e di pompelmo , bene al palato con un amaro netto erbaceo. Carbonazione media, corpo medio.
I've been lucky, two good IPA in a row. Of course this one was more of a sure value since it is DDC. Gotta love it.
Sourish aroma. Clean hop flavor with moderate bite. Palate is a little weak. This was just ok. Tastes a little off to me.
I love IPA beers but i'm startin' , this beer IS strong n you can feel a little taste of smoke, its really good but its not IPA like i'm used to taste but try it tho 😌
Bottle; pours dark amber with a khaki head; boozy aroma of caramel and dark fruits; taste is sweet with caramel, dark fruits, and some hints of molasses; sweet boozy finish; not sure what is going on here as this seems more like a barely wine to me than IPA, maybe I got a bad bottle (still good but rated lower because it was off style)
Bottle. Pours hazy orange, with light head. Light malt flavour, medium hopy aroma. Medium plus bitterness. Not bad, but not an IPA reference either.
From Bierkraft. At dinner, after futsal match, with agnus burger. Reminds a brown ale, with toffee and nuts. Pretty dense and oily body.Hops tend more to english profile than american but label says is an american IPA.
Couleur cuivrée; mousse beige; arômes et goût maltés et fruités; bière un peu trop douce avec finale moyennement amère
341 ml bottle. Red color. Small head. Interesting nose. Complex taste. Strong finish. Very nice looking beer that taste even better. Overall very good product.
From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours intense reddish, with white foam, very fine. Aroma is a mix of citrus and sweet from malt, recalling biscuit and molasses. Body is medium-dense, with some stickiness. Taste has moderate sweetness and a little more bitterness for a full taste. Finish is rather long and bitter.
Appearance: Dark orange body with a 2 finger head that lasts quite a while and leaves a lot of lacing behind.
Smell: Resiny hops with a citrus twist. A little dry.
Taste: Orange, grapefruit & peach. A nice bitterness that lasts well after the finish. I found the taste resembles more the English style than American.
Mouthfeel: Well-balanced and nothing overbearing in the hops presence. Sticky & good, maybe a little oily in texture.
Pours a fairly small layer of brownish head and leaves a very thin cover over brew. Quite bubbly. Has a slightly hazy dark coppery appearance. Good lacing. Looks more like a red amber beer. Aromas of barley maltiness and nice floral, citrus hops, well balanced. Flavours are quite different than usual as this one’s more of a stronger bitter type of hop strain. Malts are a bit more overpowering I think. There are mild subtle hints of caramel, nuts and tiny bit of toffee. Citrus seems more in the back. Has a sort of peppery aftertaste from a bit stronger spicy-ness. Creamy drying mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Pretty well balanced between sweet and bitter. One of the more complex tasting IPA’s i’ve had so far. really good stuff.
Flaska @ Bishops Arms Plaza, Göteborg. Klar bärnstensfärgad med ett smutsvitt skum. Dofter av grapefrukt, karamell, tall och örter. Smakinslag av grapefrukt, malt, karamell, blomster och alkohol. Välavvägd beska/sötma. Alkoholen stör dock en aning.
Robe ambrée et trouble. Pas de mousse, dommage. Arômes caramel, mangue agrumes. Goût résineux, fruits confits, figue, raisins secs. Un peu courte en bouche malheureusement. On reste sur le résineux. La carbonatation est plutôt fine et la texture légèrement sirupeuse. Une bonne IPA.

Kolor: Miedziany z licznymi rubinowymi i czerwonymi refleksami.
Piwo jest tylko minimalnie zamglone.
Piana: Ma ona intensywnie żółty kolor, jest średnio i drobnoziarnista i przede wszystkim trwała.
Spory czas pływa po powierzchni, a potem ucieka w dół do solidnej oponki.
Lacing na szkle godny mistrzów. Nieczęsto w piwach w tym stylu spotyka się taką brabancką koronkę. Rewelacja!
Zapach: Aromat jest mocno słodki, dość wyraźny, ale nie intensywny.
Na pierwszy plan wysuwa się karmel, odrobina miodu i cukier trzcinowy.
Dopiero po chwili wydobywają się owoce tropikalne (głównie marakuja i słodkie mango). Dalej w tle odrobina kwiatów.
Mimo, że woń jest dość stonowana, wciąż przyjemnie zaprasza do wzięcia do ust pierwszego łyka.
Smak: Po pierwszych łykach już wiem, że jest to najlepiej skrojone English IPA jakie piłem.
Jest wyraźnie słodsze od amerykańskich wersji tego stylu.
Dominują chmiele, które dają właściwości przede wszystkim kwiatowe, potem owocowe, a na koniec minimalnie trawiaste.
Słód odgrywa tutaj niemałą rolę daje posmaki karmelu, ciesteczek i wyraźne toffi.
Najważniejszą cechą jest tutaj niebywały wręcz balans. Chmiele na niemial równej płaszczyźnie ścierają się ze słodami.
Goryczka jest średniej materii, gładki, krótki finisz.
Średnia treściwość i nadzywczajna pijalność.
Zajebiste!
Wysycenie: Średnio-wysokie.

Kilka razy już to powiedziałem, napisałem i zaznaczyłem na Biroholiku - Brasserie Dieu du Ciel jest dla mnie Top 5 najlepszych browarów na świecie.
Jeśli gdziekolwiek, kiedykolwiek zobaczycie ich piwa - bierzcie w ciemno.
Ten kanadyjski browar rodem z Quebec’u nie ma sobie równych.
Każde piwo, które piłem (a były to piwo w różnych stylach) wyrywało z butów.
Polecam do zapoznania się z lekturą na RateBeer.
Browar w Europie niewidoczny, w Polsce kompletnie niespotykany, a robi tak nieprzeciętne piwa.
Wracając do "Rogu Diabła" piwo jest klasyką stylu English IPA.
Wszystko już zostało powyżej napisane.
Nie ma sensu się powtarzać.

Tap @ O’Connells. Pours slightly hazy dark amber, beige head. Malty, citrus, pine aroma. Citrus, spices, full bodied malty flavor.
Il colore è giallo ambrato, con riflessi arancio, abbastanza limpida; un collare di schiuma beige, denso e cremoso si siede con orgoglio sulla cima del Corno del Diavolo. Filtrano aromi di caramello, malto, agrumi (pompelmo), buona intensità di luppolo e di note floreali. Al palato, la sua astringenza è nota al primo contatto: il luppolo è ben presente così come il malto ed il caramello. Sapori di frutta tropicale ed agrumati aggiungono un bel tocco, mentre le spezie, tra cui timo e pepe, donano complessità. La presenza del luppolo è costante fino alla fine, come le note floreali; chiude secca e leggermente astringente.
Tap@o’connells. Amber reddish color with quite small off-white head. Aroma has citrus, pine and caramel malt. Taste is malty with long bitter and dry aftertaste. Flavors of grapefruit, pine, resin and malt.
Tap@Bishops Arms (Savoy), Malmö (09/07/2016) - amber coloured pour with off-white head. Sweet malty and fruity, piney herbal hoppy aroma and taste, some mandarin, lemon, then a caramel malty backbone, citrus peel, pine needles, grassy and piney hoppy bitter finish.
"Devil’s Horn"
Cloudy dark amber/copper color with powerful subtle activity. Creamy frothy beige 1 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with strong legs.
Aromas of spicy fruity citrus, a little faint. Flavors of fruits like orange, lemon, grapes, berries, ester with some toffee, coriander, and floral/herbal spices. A little grassy, piney, and earthy/woody. Pleasant sugary feel with low sharpness.
Slick light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Medium strength finish, ending with a strong sweetness and minimal sourness, but more of a herbal peppery like spiciness and oaky feel.
Overall this is a good craft offering decent flavors and a really nice look. Although some freshness is perceptible, it feels a little flat. This is DDC’s sweet version of an IPA, while I tend to like those more, it does not compete with the sharper ones like Moralité.

Couleur ambrée, bonne mousse beige. Nez fruité (un peu litchi) et résineux. Gout fruité exotique, litchi puis résineux, doux et note caramélisée avec longue amertume, bien houblonnée, herbeuse en fin de bouche. Pas mal!

Huge bias here. This is one of the first stronger ale I ever liked with passion. Drink it cold and it’s citrus flavors will be more obvious, drink it a bit hotter and it will taste way more spicy. i’ll write a more detailed review at some point. Overall it’s a very enjoyable beer
