3.8 Dixie Jazz Amber Light has a thin, off-white head and a semi-clear, golden appearance, with some bubbles and essentially no lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, sour, and roasted grain, and the flavor is of those elements, with an added toffee note, and a back sip bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Dixie Jazz finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, this is an excellent and unusual light beer. RJT
1.0 The aroma strongly reminds you of the typical American piss water (alcohol, yeast and malt), but the yeast smells more like toast than simply dough yeast; also, the color is pale yellow with nearly no white head, which also doesn’t give you high hopes for the beer. The taste is mildly sour, slightly sweet, and a touch salty, which isn’t that pleasing. The palate isn’t that impressive either with the combination of the thin texture, light body, a soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish.
1.7 Bottle. Nose is grassy, lightly stale, little grain and a little powder. Pours a deep orange-golden with an ephemeral white head. Sweet, artificial flavor skirts the rim of being cloying, there’s weak grain and grass, a little stale tasting, and the malt is so thin as to barely register. Light-bodied but not watery, mild and mildly crisp, a little dirty.
2.5 Pours a very pale amber color with a quickly diminishing head. The scent already eludes that the taste is going to be that of a cheap beer. There is at least some flavor of so wheat and malts but it is very comparable to that of Miller Lite or Bud Light. Drinks rather fast with no real texture or volume to the beer. This is one you can skip.
3.2 Slightly opaque orange amber colour with a skim of white head that rose up upon pouring and then completely capitulated. Aromas of nutty amber malt. Coconut biscuits and macaroons. It really smells tasty. The flavour is of sweet orange marmalade. Not especially bitter, but charming and quaffable. Not overly complex but thoroughly enjoyable. Became drier and more biscuity the longer it stayed in the mouth. More please.
1.9 A hint of caramel and spices is not enough to give taste to this watery lager. Without any interest.
1.9 Bottle from Heritage Liquors. Mostly clear dull golden color with a minimal white head. Sweet cheap caramel lager with a little more heft than BMC. Nothing to write home about.
2.6 Bottle:   Dull golden, light carbonation, little sudsy white head, no lacing.   Sweet grassy nose, some straw/hay as well.   Pale fruit and grassiness on the tongue.   Pretty simple, yet clean.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   A little mealy on the backside.   Decent, but wished it were a little crisper and less mealy.
1.7 Bottle. Golden, short to averagea and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and caramel sweet aroma, some fruitiness and some bread. Body is light to medium, malty and sweet flavor, caramel and some brea. Finish is short, malty and sweetish with caramel and some bread. Caramel sweet lager - no hoppyness.
3.6 Aroma is fruit with light skunky..taste is sweet well balanced pale...impressed..pours pale yellow
2.7 good aroma with a nice head. amber in color. it has a good balanced flavor and is easy to drink.
1.4 12 oz. Clear orange-copper with a small ring of bubbles. Sweet aroma of caramel and roasted turkey. Nearly cloying, tastes of caramel Sugar Babies and buttery Life Savers, opposed by just a touch of metal and lemonade. Maybe some dry grass on the finish. Light body is watery and sweet.
2.3 Bottle. Light amber color with a little lace and some head. Not much aroma, kind of watery. A little more flavor than expected but still watery. Overall, not bad, just not great.
2.8 Honey and corn nose. Hazy amber, thin head. Pervasive yet delightful dark honey flavor, coupled with more barley than corn. Nothing spectacular, but one of the better American light lagers.
1.9 Pours a light copper color with an off white head. Aroma is honey, toast, some fruity notes, and some spicy notes. Flavor is honey, grain, some toast, fruity, and a light spicy finish.
0.9 I bought this beer because I collect jazz paraphernalia, the beer was absolutely tasteless, watery, and without a doubt one of the worst beers I have tasted outside of all the big macro lagers ! Cheers , not!
1.0 Pours golden with no head and grainy aroma. Taste is very watery, thin, and bland, with flavor of grains. Nothing good about this beer.
2.1 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy gold with small whitish head. The aroma is skunk, light slightly caramel sweetness, hay, slight herbs. The flavor is unsurprising. The light caramel sweetness dominates. There’s an odd subtle grassiness to it. It gets a little metallic and soapy in the finish and leaves a neutral aftertaste which occasionally smacks of sweet corn.
2.1 Sample at KC Beerfest 10-22. Comes a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is similar with some metallic notes. Just OK.
3.0 Bottle. Pours an average cheddar orange with a frothy white head and an effervescent body. Aroma is floral biscuit, lightly toasted bread, and wild grass. Flavor is fesh toast, dehydrated rose petals, and a touch of malted honey. Average mouthfeel. For a light beer, it’s not bad.
1.4 Although there wasn’t much to the aroma, the flavor was harsh, probably because the adjuncts were very poor quality. Really not something I’ll have again.
0.6 6 pack for 3.99, it is not even worth that. It pours a pale gold, not amber and is up their for wateriest beers available.
2.2 Pale amber with a fluffy head. Rather stale, even skunked, hop nose, with trails of soapy hops. Improves with aeration. Light, bland, somewhat cardboard hop flavor. Not repugnant, just not good.
2.1 Looks OK - Copper, big fluffy head. Smells like canned corn and caramel, which isn’t that appealing. Flavor is sweet grainy and some nasty sour notes, plus some...OK, I’m gonna be honest here - at this point the phone rang, then something caught my eye on TV, and, well, long story short I actually FORGOT I WAS DRINKING A BEER! Do you have any idea how bland a beer has to be for me to forget to finish it? Not a drain pour, just a beer so inconsequential I forgot it exisited in mid glass...
3.5 A warm, malty amber ale, not at all a pale lager in my book. This is very refreshing, well rounded, almost oktoberfest like. Surprisingly good. bottle from Midtown Wine and spirits, Nashville.
1.5 this is a pretty poor beer all around. Much lighter in flavor and heft that the plain Dixie beer, there is some maltiness, a lot of nothing. Pretty much a worthless brew.
1.1 Clear orangecolour with no head. Rasin kije character but is bland and boring.
2.7 Clear and golden brown with a one finger tan head. Aroma and flavor offered tangerine fruit and caramel. No real complexity but flavor was pleasant enough. A decent beer.
2.0 Thanks to swalden28 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a very clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is strong buttery popcorn. The flavor is very thin with some corn, honey and butter. Light body and medium carbonation. There is not much going on in this beer. This is one to avoid.
2.0 Bottle. Pours a light clear gold with fizzy white head. Aroma of light grain, faint caramel. Flavor is basically the same. Light body with high carbonation. Nothing very exciting.
