3.4 Hazy amber-orange pour, aroma of oranges and hops. The flavor is full of oranges with crisp bitterness, resin, and a nice malt body. Medium bodied. Very tasty.
3.4 355ml can @ Still, Las Vegas. Sweet, zesty citrusy and lemony with some grass and caramely notes. Decent.
3.4 Can from a branch of Giant in Sterling, Virginia. Deep amber in colour, with moderate carbonation. Big citrus hops, rich and slightly sweet malts, juicy orange fruit followed by a touch of lemon sharpness leading to a lingering, dryish finish. Enjoyable.
3.7 11/24/18 Had with A, Andrew, Megan & Colter watching the iron bowl in the workout room. Nose is very citrusy and sweet. Taste is citrus hops with a good dose of piney flavor. Moderate bitterness. Really nice balance of the citrus and pine. Very reminiscent of the piney 90 minute IPA with significantly more citrus. Crisp and smooth palate. Somewhat thin with a juice-like feel. Easy to drink. Overall, a very tasty and well-balanced IPA.
3.5 355 ml. can split by 2 @ streets of Zürich. Too milky yoghurt, classic pine resin hop, milky, okay-ish but lacks all fruit character expected.
3.5 12oz can from Whole Foods NYC, enjoyed on 13-Nov-2018. Clear orange amber colour with a beige coloured head. Aroma of malt, citrus and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of sweet malt, blood orange, grapefruit, lemon, melon and floral hops. Medium bitterness, fruity and hoppy with an alcohol buzz.
3.4 Draft to taster at Pies & Pints. Looks solid; a transparent golden orange with off-white lacing. Smells bitter and a little boozy with moderate notes of citrus and milder notes of caramel alongside a moderately bittersweet backbone. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and moderately bitter. Maltier than I prefer, but solid nonetheless.
3.0 Not a lot of depth of flavor. A good hops bite with a bitter finish. Not a great beer but not a bad beer. A good fall beer I would say.
3.4 Can from Beer Republic. Hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, orange and light hoppy. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Light dry and moderate bitter finish. 100918
3.1 Not bad. Mild hop background with some grapefruit and mild perhaps strawberry flavors. Not too sweet at all and not too tart.
3.5 From bottle. Clear amber color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, citrus, tropical fruity notes, grass, caramel, bread. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.1 Taste: fruit, blood orange, lemon semi sweet, citrus hops. Same with the nose. Copper hue, mostly clear, Some head and lace in a taster. Medium body. Unique.
3.8 Clear amber with a modest head and decent lace. Aromas of citrusy hops, mostly blood orange and grapefruit. Sweet citrus up front with crisp bitterness and a dry finish.
3.6 Pours red amber with a slightly off white head that fades fast to a nice coating. Aroma is caramel, citrus, a touch of pine. Taste amps the citrus to orange, blood orange and lemon. Tangy and a little sweet-tart. Strong charred caramel malt backbone and a moderately bitter, orangey hop finish. Lively and medium-bodied with a slightly sticky texture. A nice beer that makes good use of blood orange for a deeper, richer IPA.
3.3 Dåse: Ravfarvet klar øl med et stort skumhoved. Duften er blodappelsin hvor den fungerer. Det gør den så ikke i smagen der er lidt kemisk og alkoholisk.
3.8 12 oz can. Lots of citrus orange and lemon with pine aroma. Big citrus taste with a hoppy finish, more than the 45 ibu might suggest. An enjoyable beer for a hot summer afternoon. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.4 Bottle. Reddish amber color. Floral aroma with orange peel. Blood orange. Soft tart flavor, floral, with Blood orange, orange peel And lemon. Hint of metal in the finish.
4.5 What a very good beer, drank in a can from John's Market, and its a delightful beer where the blood orange is so present and balanced with something of a floral sweet hops. A brilliant beer, that is truly and elevated IPA.
3.1 Sample from can at Hy-Vee. Pours light amber with an off white head. Aroma of orange, orange zest, citrus. Taste was medium bitter, orange, hops, pine resin.
3.2 Bottle, 355 ml, courtesy of Max. Cloudy golden, white head. Malty, sweetish, some red orange, very light bitterness in finish. Light to medium bodied.
3.6 Draft @ Yard House - Las Vegas (Town Square), Las Vegas, NV. Pours an orange pale amber color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter finish.
3.8 Bronze poir, tan head that leaves quickly. Nose is a variety of citrus. Middle is mild orange juice, carmelized malt, tart lemon. Finish is slightly woody with orange being the last note.
3.3 Can--medium head with a slightly ruby color to an ordinary IPA. Some orange aroma, but not much, I noted more of the hop resin. Some fruity sweetness in the taste and a smooth, unbitter finish for an IPA. Luckys, 2.49
4.0 COD 5/18/17. Pours a hazy blood orange. Quite outstanding head volume, poor lacing and normal retention. Rich, slightly sweet, quite outstanding nose of mellow citrus. Orange with notes of lemon over a mild grainy background with a touch of cracker. Blood orange is the main component. World class mouthfeel that is slick and oily. The body is medium but feels heavier due to the slick oily texture. The carbonation / body balance is also world class with just enough effervescence to make the flavors pop and deliver a nice prickly tickle of the tongue. The flavor profile is outstanding. Had alcohol not become uncovered, it would be quite outstanding. As the middle sweetness fades, alcohol emerges but not terribly so. Otherwise, the flavor profile is like the nose. Bitterness is mild and is rind in nature. Alcohol lingers in the finish and is subtly astringent. The middle is where this beer shines as the sweet base provides a platform for blood orange and orange to emerge.
3.7 12 oz. can purchased at my local Kroger. Tangentially, the mix & match 6-pack program gets seriously abused there, much to the benefit of the astute beer drinker. For example I got several DFH 90 Minutes which are normally $10+ for a 4-pack in addition to the Flesh & Blood can, but I digress. Poured an opaque caramel color. Quite a fantastic initial aroma. Floral hops with strong notes of citrus. Lemon zest and grassy notes. Light-to-medium, slightly watery mouthfeel. Upfront citrus and pine hop taste. Followed up with a sweet caramel malt, faint clove and cinnamon, then finally rounded out with a tart, acidic fruit juice finish. This finish is by far the "weirdest" part of this beer. It begins awfully similar to a 60 Minute, then the lemon flesh and blood orange juice gives way to a decidedly fruity kick. This beer packs more of a punch than 60 Minute, and it does a good job with the refreshing, fruity finish. It may not be for everyone, but this is a great beer for a hot summer day. Ironically, the spice and fruit characteristics could make it excellent for imbibing in winter as well. All in all, another solid experimental boozy affair for Dogfish Head, the brewers who never shy away from bold eccentricity.
3.5 Citrus, spice, coriander, mixed with all the hop notes and malt bodies. Almost like a marriage of IPA and Saison.
3.5 On tap at City Tap Room Boston. Clear deep amber colour lasting white head. Decent malt flavour. More of an old school ipa. Bit of heat on the finish.
4.3 12oz Dose von Top Hops. Orangefarbenes Bier mit zart orangenem hohem cremigem Schaum. Sieht gut aus. Citrus Hopfen Duft. DazuKräuter und Gras. Im Antrunk genau das, was ich erwarte. Citrus! Orange, Blutorange, Zesten. Dann schön bitter. Grapefruit. Angenehme Fruchtsäure. Langes bitteres Orangenzesten und Limetten Finish. Dazu das leckere Hopfenaroma und etwas Malz und Harz. So muss ein IPA mut Frucht schmecken.
3.8 Can from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, orange and lemon. Taste is lemon peels, mild cleaner, balanced malt to even out the citrusy tang, and a dry, astringent finish. Unique IPA with lots of citrus character.
4.8 I love this beer! This looked beautiful pouring from the can, and had the scent of grapefruit and oranges...very nice. Since it has no grapefruit in it, I figured that aroma is from the hops which are plentiful in this masterpiece of a beer. The taste was delicious and refreshing without an overwhelming cloying hope presence. It hides the 7.5% ABV which could be dangerous, since it is so drinkable. Dogfish Head puts out some great beers, and this one is no exception.
