Dogfish Head Liquid Truth Serum IPA

Dogfish Head Liquid Truth Serum IPA

You can handle the truth!
MYTH: IBUs (hop bitterness) can only be achieved in the boil. TRUTH: Uh-uh!
The truth is, Dogfish Head has been doing innovative things in the world of hopping since we opened in the mid-90s. From our continual hopping method found in our 60 Minute, 90 Minute and 120 Minute IPAs to our latest innovation of post-boil hop additions found in our Liquid Truth Serum!
Our unique process involving pelletized, powdered, leaf and liquefied hops makes for a blissfully inefficient IPA that's truthfully hoppy without being deceptively bitter. You'll find the perfect match of citrusy and tropical notes, making for a zesty finish ... honest.

3.4 Pours slightly hazed gold with a thick soapy white head that sticks around. Aroma is hoppy lemon and dank resin. Taste is also hop forward with the bitterness upfront and a grapefruit and citrus finish when cold. Bitter creeps into the finish as it warms. Nice blend of hop citrus flavors; more bitter than sweet but not overly so. Very dry. A nice brew.
3.4 Tap at easy tiger in Austin. Gold with thick white head and good lacing. Fruity hop nose. Very drying . Rich and slightly malty along with the hop. Slightly boozy.
3.0 Fruity citrusy hop aroma of orange, guava pineapple, bready malt Pours golden hazy with floaters and a small creamy white head Little more piney in flavor with citrus still present balanced with bready biscuity maltiness Light bodied with medium co2, lingering piney hip finish Enjoyable beer. Complexity of hops is definitely in the aroma, not so much in the flavor.
3.0 All kinds of fruits are combined together. For some reason it does not appeal to me. Maybe because it is an old can and the taste was bland. Not as strong as the other Dogfish Head beers I have had.
3.7 Can. Gold with a large white head. Aroma of floaty citrus and citrus blossoms, peach, some pineapple and mango, slightly honeyed hay. Sweet with more stone and tropical fruit than citrus, somewhat empty malt and a fairly bitter finish. Pretty good.
3.4 Lightly colored. Light head, light nose. A nice balance of bitter and sweet. (My favorite place). 7% ABV. Yum. An experiment in ‘hopping’ for them. Good. Not my favorite. But I support the effort. Keep it up!
4.1 Hazy gold with foamy white head Aroma s hoppy pine Flava is rich sweet caramel malt notes and balanced with hop bitters Feels medium to thick with foamy fizz Finishes dry bitter
3.3 Draft to taster at Pies & Pints in Carmel. Looks solid; a transparent gold with foamy white head. Smells of bitter and citrusy hops alongside a moderately bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells, but less robust. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Solid, but smells better than it tastes.
3.5 Poured from 16 oz can into pint glass, much less detectable in aroma than on tongue/palate?? Mix of citrus and bitterness almost equally present, probably leans a little toward fruity?? Picked some up b/c I hadn’t seen it on the shelves anywhere around here yet, and was already running low... interesting experiment.
3.8 Pours a clear golden with white head. Big bouquet of of floral, pine, and citrus and honeysuckle. Pine, citrus, floral hop pop. Moderately dank. Notes: can from the Shopette, Jun ‘18
3.8 Taste: fruit, grapefruit, citrus hops, clean finish. Nice gentle floral hop nose. Gold, clear, with white head and multi ringed lace. Medium to full body.
3.6 [12oz bottle from Total Wines, Brea, CA.] A hazy straw coloured pour with a loose white head; aroma of yeast and citrus; smooth in the mouth and full of pithy citrus; with a long finish. Rather good.
4.1 12 oz can. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of jammy tropical fruit, (melons and candied pineapple), resin and bready malts. Flavors follow with additional spicy rein and pine. Delicious
4.1 Yum. Pours hazy straw gold with thin white cap. Aroma has citrus and tropical notes, but also a nice bready malt shining through. Flavor follows similarly - right up my ally with the malt balance and low bitterness, letting the hops make my mouth water for another sip. Well done and easy drinking. I'll have this again.
3.5 5 May 2019, can. yellow, mostly clear, occasional bubbles. nose is mild lemon rind. thin body and mildly fizzy. nice clean beer, mildly bitter but very palatable, not sweet or juicy. nice.
5.0 Wonderfully floral hop aroma with beautiful lacing. Taste is pale, dry, hoppy. Delivers in every department, can't find anything bad to say. Love this beer!
3.6 Can at 77090. Pours clear golden with white foam. Nice herbal, floral, light fruit aromas. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Herbal, floral, earthy hoppy flavors with a lightly dry maltage---easy lightly bitter finish---tasty IPA.
3.4 Can. Pours dull gold with white head and some lacing. Nose of tropical fruit (including mango). Tropical fruit (pineapple and mango) with some soft pine notes. Medium body and medium finish.
3.7 Can. Golden color with a one finger white head. It is lightly effervescent that maintains a thin covering. The aroma is tropical with a pineapple and pink grapefruit flavor. Totbis also a bit resinous. Overall it is slightly bitter.
3.5 Can from Kings Beer & Wine in Phoenix. Light orange with a white head. Aroma of floral hops, pine, citrus and some cookies. The same in the taste. The body was medium as was the bitterness.
3.9 Out of a tall can pours a hazy, light gold body that supports a tall column of meringue-like white head. Lemony, pineapple hop aroma. Has a balanced yet firmly bitter citrus flavor. Juicy. I like this one.
2.6 Bottle - with too much age on it. A bit of cardboard in the aroma. Citrus. Would like to try it fresh.
3.8 Draft. Poured cloudy golden color with an average frothy white head that lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy tropical hop aroma. Medium to abundant body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. This beer met my expectations.
3.9 Really old note, draft at 4th St Bar before Crew game: gold pour, thin white head. aroma of pine, grass. tastes are grapefruit, juicy, caramel, lemon, resiny. clean, good balance.
3.9 Very nice IPA. Nice and green and bitter. Malty back bone. Drinks great. Classic tasting IPA
3.5 Thanks to Dane. Fairly dry, bready IPA with tropical notes. A little pineapple, peach, and rye. Some residual sweetness. Pleasantly floral aroma. Dark gold pour with a good sized topper. Am I telling the truth?
4.2 It pours golden and extremely clear with an off white head. Head retention is excellent. It has intense aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and some tropical fruits. Mango is the fruit that comes out the strongest with a hint of pineapple. There is also a slight bit of grainy sweetness. The flavors are abundant with tropical fruits and include mango and pineapple. The tropical fruits are more prominent that the citrus and grapefruit notes. There is a very light caramel flavor. It has a medium body that is slightly slick. The hops are strong ,but not harsh. There is some very smooth alcohol warming. Overall, a good blend of tropical and citrus fruits with pleasant, but strong bitterness and alcohol warming.
3.7 From can. Hazy orangish gold with a lacing head. Floral and piney aroma. Only a slight bitterness in the finish.
3.8 16oz can thanks to Steveoj pours out clear crisp straw topped with a white head. Nose is nice big hops citrus some pine and cracker malts. Taste is more of the nice citrus pine grassy hops and some sweetness.
3.5 16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Pale golden, light foamy head. Light hoppy aroma. Piney aroma and taste. Slick, bitter
