Dogfish Head Namaste White

Dogfish Head Namaste White

A witbier bursting with good karma. Made with dried organic orange slices, fresh-cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander, this Belgian-style white beer is a great thirst quencher. Namaste was originally brewed at our pub in Rehoboth Beach with our Italian friend Leo from Birra del Borgo. It was a tribute to our friends at 3 Fonteinen brewery in Belgium, who had devastating production loss (1/3 of their annual production) in 2009.

3.6 (12oz can) AROMA: nice wheat/grain and light yeast. classic wittbeir spocines and herbs, fuzzy, some dairy APPEARANCE: thick billowy white head, lightly cloudy honey/straw color, good carbonation TASTE: slightly tart, dairy, then a solid rustic grain middle (not malty), some cloves and herbs, some grainy toast bitterness PALATE: light to medium body, acisic bite but otherwise pretty fluid feeling, some oiliness, OVERALL: pretty good beer. Not as malty as a German Weiss bit similar in many ways, good balance in flavors, solid grain, nice yeast bread and tart dairy,
3.7 Not a style I enjoy. Got this in the sampler pack. It's pretty good. orange peel, small hit of spice.
3.6 12 oz. can. Pale straw/yellow pour. White pillowy head receded quickly. Citrus burst aroma of lemon and orange. Wheat grass, hints of pepper. Coriander, grains of paradise, lemon zest. As I continued to sip I appreciated the deep and flavorful, bright fruity character married with a wheat backbone. A good quality wit. Very sessionable and lends itself to drinking any season of the year.
3.1 Bottle from a random deli in Brooklyn. Bottled a year ago? Sweet bubblegum and soapy kinda character, very bubbly and light, refreshing. Quite a lot of coriander lingering here as many of the other ingredients have kinda withered. Not a big fan of this. Probably much better when fresh.
4.2 Good, smooth taste. Unique and refreshing. Looks like a go-to beer for the upcoming college basketball tournaments
3.1 Classic White appearance: thick, white head; cloudy, golden swirl in the pint glass. Nose is orange and lemongrass. Refreshing spring water going down; nose and taste are married. Cheers!
4.0 Pours an orangey gold color. Big white head. Good retention, poor lacing. Good carbonation, slightly hazy. At oma is coriander and pepper. Light orange and yeast. Taste is coriander. Light pepper. Orange, and light lemongrass. Mouthfeel is light bodied. Just a touch of spice. Overall it is very good. I would recommend it and would buy it again.
4.1 Pours slightly hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma of oranges and citrus. Taste is typical of the style, orange and lemongrass are dominant notes. Palate contains coriander on the nose, very pleasant aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel, great beer.
2.9 Big coriander and pepper corn. Orange peel hints come in at the end. Low carbonation.
3.0 Bottle pour. White champagne color. Yeast aroma. Notes of banana, clove, coriander and citrus. Nice mellow balance to the flavors.
3.0 A very tall head with definite wheat tones. One can definitely pick up the orange and peppercorn but the lemongrass is the most powerful note.
4.1 Fairly decent witbier. Nice orange and coriander, easy to drink.
3.8 Cloudy yellow, with some visible carbonation. Tall white, fluffy head receding at a moderate pace; strings of lacing down the glass. Attractive beer in the Riedel wheat glass. Aroma is fruit and spice - citrus: orange and lemon; and coriander. Taste is coriander, pepper, some orange and lemon. Feel is creamy with nice tingling from the carbonation. Definitely a spicy version of a wit, but very enjoyable and recommended.
3.1 Veiled blonde with a short and fleeting head. Aromas and taste of orange, coriander and marked by pepper and lemongrass. Acidulity and lively of wheat.
3.1 9/26/18 (Chicago): $5.50 16 oz draft pour into standard pint glass at The Garage Bar & Sandwiches. 4.8% Abv, pale golden pour, faint wheat aroma. Light wheat citrus taste, light crisp mouth feel. Overall ok pour.
3.5 Light and crisp, hints of orange and citrus zest with an underlying wheat beer taste.
3.5 Pours up piss yellow with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is mild, but has some lemon, light coriander and wheat. The taste is lots of wheat, some citrus. Mouthfeel is soft and slightly buttery, dry and fizzy. It’s light bodied, refreshing and crisp.
3.4 Namaste is squarely to style, which is unusual for Dogfish. Delicate wheat backbone amply bolsters the lightly lemon-orange tinged flavors. Soft pillow miuthfeel. Mild all around, but quenching too.
3.5 Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, coriander, pepper and lemon. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium body, creamy with average carbonation.
3.3 Pours clear, dark golden, with a full, white head. Aroma is orange, coriander and breadiness. Taste is light caramel and coriander, moving to orange and a wheaty flavor. Finish is smooth, with light spice. A good witbier.
3.5 A really nice white. I like this way better than brews with lemon instead of orange. Pours cloudy with a small head. A not overpowering orange/citrus flavor. This one wins!
4.4 B+. Pours a hazy yellow color with white head. A little light on flavor, plus the after taste didn't quite work for me. Edit. Let it warm up a few more degrees and it gets better
3.7 Picked up a bottle at the Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury, VT. Pours a big foamy white head, good retention, has a hazy golden orangey appearance. Lively carbonation. Dirty lacing. Aromas of floral and citrus hops, some oranges and hints of grapefruit. Flavours of orange peel, grapefruit, coriander and subtle peppery hints. A little bit of lemongrass an some yeasty notes in the finish. Pretty good.
3.5 Can. It poured a clear pale yellow color with a thin white head. The aroma is floral and Belgian spices with note of coriander, hay, and some light citrus notes. The taste is clean and light bodied. Easy drinking post lawn mowing beer.
3.8 Whoa. Was not expecting this brew to be a powerhouse witbier, but Dogfish nailed this pint. White bread meets the gentle clove, vanilla, and grassiness you want from a wheat ale, while the back end adds subtle lemon tartness with coriander and orange, leading to a yeasty, spicy fade. I'm not a big witbier guy, but, hell, Dogfish might have outwitted Allagash White. (Yeah, that's a terrible pun. No, I'm not sorry for it.) Tasty beer.
4.2 Bottle. Belgian style witbeer. Ale brewed with orange, lemongrass&spices. Gooooood
3.7 12 oz. bottle. Purchased as a single at Fareway. Poured light hazy golden, foamy white head. Aroma was lemon, lemongrass, orange. Taste was sweet, lemon, orange, spices, wheat grain.
3.6 Can. Orange citrus aroma with notes of wheat malt, coriander and pepper. Pours pale cloudy golden colored with a half a finger of white head that has excellent retention and somemlacing. Starts with orange citrus and wheat malt flavors. Finishes smooth and refreshing with coriander and pepper flavors with s bitnof orange citrus linger on the palate at the end. Nice wit.
3.3 Nice citrusy yeasty wheat beer. Somewhat sour at first but balances out without overwhelming bitterness. Not bad!
4.0 Pale gold with a white head and a spicy, citrusy nose. Mild and smooth with a peppery, lemony, mildly bitter finish.
