Dogfish Head SeaQuench Ale

Dogfish Head SeaQuench Ale

SeaQuench Ale is our session sour quencher made with lime peel, black lime and sea salt. It’s a citrusy-tart union of three German styles of beer blissfully brewed into one. We begin by brewing a straightforward Kolsch with lots of wheat and Munich Malt, then we brew a salty Gose with black limes, coriander and our sea salt. We follow it all up with a citrusy-tart Berlinerweiss made with lime juice and lime peel. All three beers are then blended together in the fermentation tank to create this German hybrid.

2.5 color is deep golden with light carbonation and thin head. Aroma leans more on the salt with a faint lime note in the back. Body light to medium with a crisp mouthfeel. Taste comes in sour and tart with a hint of lime then in the aftertaste the salt shows. Overall it is defiantly a sour just not much else.
3.3 Lime and some salt. Drinks easy enough, decent for original German style. Buddy bought super tall can of this and not sure why I'd want to drink that much of it. Golden pour. Light tangy finish.
3.1 12 oz can, poured clear yellow with a white head. Medium bodied. Lime aroma, very tart lime and lime peel taste with a too salty finish. Have a real margarita if that's what you're after.
4.8 👌🏻 sour that’s not sweet.
3.5 Pours a pale straw, frothy white head, settles to a thin, frosted cap; hazy, effervescent. Aroma is salty citrus/lime. Tasty... salty citrus/lime; tart but not overly sour. Crisp, clean palate. Really a refreshing on a hot summer day. Like limeade but better.
3.9 Can from Safeway in San Jose, CA. Aroma is lime peel, lime juice, hay, salt water. Taste is lime, salt, a grain underbelly... refreshing lime and salt combo. One of the better Dogfish Head beers outside of their "minute" IPA selection.
4.0 Yet another on the dock, brought in by my friend. Black lime? That says it all.
3.7 Hazy pale gold pour with a small white head. The aroma has a mild lemon scent. It has a light body with fizzy carbonation. The taste is sharp and tart with a quick finish.
2.3 Opaque yellow color. Sour and salty flavor, not the best example of fruited gose.
3.8 Salty lime and lactic sour aroma and flavor. Light bodied but flavorful gose. Not super sour but a reasonable amount of sour. Maybe 3 of 10. Pretty solid session sour. Enjoyable.
3.3 Amazing aroma with a taste that doesn’t live up to the smell. Average appearance. True to the sour of the beer but a bit too bitter for a sour of my liking. Taste has a salty lime finish with a below expected medium sour finish.
3.5 Golden with a white head. Salt, lime, ocean, not a lot else. The salt overpowers everything IMO. Medium bodied. Salty lime finish. It’s ok. Not my favorite style overall. But for the style, it’s enjoyable enjoyable enough.
3.9 Can: Poured a yellow color gose with a light foamy head with minimal retention and light lacing. Aroma of lime and salt notes is enticing. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some fresh lime juice notes as well as some balanced salty notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Enjoyable gose with good drinkability.
2.8 Mild for a sour. A bit tart and salty. Decent but not super flavourful.
3.7 Ar: kapucha, marakuja, dziko, dorzdze, swiezo, gose jak powinno. Wyg: metne, zolto-pomaranczowawe, piana ultra drobna. Sm: wysycenie bardzo wysokie, glownie owocowe, kwach umiarkowany i w drugim glosie, super pijalnosc. Pos: dlugi i zmienny, wpierw slodko, brzoskiwnie i nektaryny, potem fajna kapucha i limonka. Ov: super lekki i soczysty kwach
4.4 Smooth sour taste, with salty overtones and clean crisp finish.
4.0 Lime, tart aroma. Hazy and yellow. Taste is salt, lime, margarita, and low-medium sour.
3.4 Hazy light gold body with a big, lasting white head. Citrusy aroma, nothing complex at all. Medium palate, nice carbonation. Flavor out-performs the aroma. Starts fairly sour with the lime right out in front. The salt does a nice job of tempering the sour, and it finishes a bit like a margarita. Really enjoyable, great summer beer.
3.0 Tap at Brick House. Cloudy piss yellow with thin head. Mild briney aroma. Light carb with lime, salt, and light hopping. Decent enough
3.2 Some Lime and some tartness with a moderate salt infusion. Nice Mineral and pepper and a little tang. Moderate body full and oozy but wispy like soul even with the lighter abv. Citrus switches out to Lemon.
3.2 One of the most refreshing beers in my memory. Lots of lime flavor, not sweet.
3.2 Can - Pours a hazy golden with a fairly large head. Lemon/lime aroma. Lemony taste finished with lime. All good except for an artificial taste.
3.9 7/15/19 After the best day ever with A while Littles is sleeping. She’s watching outlander. Expected nose with some sour notes and some malt. Taste is very tart up front then gives way to a much more bready finish. Quite sour with decent sweetness. Good carbonation and crispness on the palate. Finish is very malty. Overall, an excellent drinkable sour with great malty notes. Winner from DFH!!
3.3 Not very sour
3.7 Sour lime and a hint of salt make this beer a summertime favorite for me. Hard to stop drinking it
3.8 Pours almost orange with thin layer of white foam. Sour comes through in a single note, mostly lime, not nuanced.
4.2 Pours orange hazy amber with a thick white head. Aroma of lime and lactose. Taste has huge lime elements with slight coconut and coriander notes. Palate is rich and citrusy, intense salt notes. Good.
3.2 It’s a good refreshing beer, easy to put down in the summer. Not very complex or nuanced though, just lots of straight up lime!
1.7 Twelve ounce can from the variety pack. A yellow gold fizzy look. Even the foam is sour., but this beer is not overly sour.
