Dominion Octoberfest

Dominion Octoberfest

Octoberfest’s decidedly malty flavor comes from a generous portion of Vienna Malts. The maltiness is balanced by German and Czech Republic noble hops for dryness. The balance between the malt and the hops and the long, cold (30 degrees F) maturation process make this an exceptionally drinkable beer.

2.3 Bottled. Aroma was unobtrusive(smelled like a Lager). Has a strong bitter flavor with a stale(sour) aftertaste.
3.2 Bottled. Pours brownish brown. Lots of maltiness and a clean finish. Not a bad marzen.
2.3 Fat @ Scion, Wash. DC. Smörkola och fruktighet hittas ändå trots att dofterna är allt annat än intensiva. Smörkola, röda äpplen och lime i smaken. Den här ölen kan man både ha och mista.
3.0 Draft. Deep reddish amber color, large fluffy white head. Aroma is floral hay, light biscuit. Taste is balanced biscuit and straw, very lager-like.
3.2 Draft. Pours clear brown with a thin fizzy off white head. The aroma is caramel and fig, dates, malt, cookies, floral hops, and light woodyness. The flavor is dry malt with some caramel sweetness, some light toast, dark fruit, and faint bitterness. Dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.0 Tap. Pours clear brown with thin, fizzy off-white head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, fig, dates, floral hops, and light woody notes. Flavor is dry malt base with some caramel sweetness, light toast, some dark fruiy, and faint bitterness; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.3 On draft at Mad Fox Oktoberfest. Pours a clear copper with a lacy white head. Malty nose. Sweet caramel flavors. Smooth finish.
3.3 Pours a copper amber with a medium off white head. Aroma and taste has a sweet toasted barley malt character, grass and grains with some bitter notes on the end. Palate is medium body with good carbonation and crisp mouth feel. Gets slightly sweeter and flavorful as it warms up, needs a bit more malt. Overall a good drinking brew but could be better.
3.3 A red-orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A light malty aroma, hints of red fruit and a touch smokey. Dry mouthfeel. The taste is dry and malty, fruity, candied peel and treacle, Christmas pudding in a glass! There is a light hoppy sourness in the background, that lingers into the finish.
2.2 Bottle from wegmans. Pours clear copper with no head. The aroma is bland as can be, light straw. Tastes like a yuengling .
3.4 Good for the style and with a slight burnt caramel flavor. Nice carbonation level and decent overall
3.3 Draft->shaker. Medium amber/brown with big offwhite head. Caramel malt, toast, hint of toffee and tobacco. Decent, especially for the style.
3.3 Bottle on August 24th, 2013. Solid example of the Oktoberfest style. Lightly caramel, not too sweet.
3.4 12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark amber, clear, decent size head but no lacing on glass. Aroma of malts, toffee like and a bit of spices. Strong malt taste combined with some fruit, yeast and spices. Nice representation of the style. Very sticky on the palate but easy to drink; liked it.
2.5 355ml bottle [6.0% abv]. Clear amber colour with small to average, frothy, fading, off-white head. Cautious caramel malty aroma. Taste is caramel malty, dry, grassy hoppy overtones, a touch of hay and toothpaste. Poor example of its style.
3.8 date reviewed: 31 January 2013... glassware: standard pilsner... occasion: last 30 Rock ever...cannot quantify the sadness... appearance: ambitiously bubbling copper body with a thcik, fluffy off-white head--sediment seems present... aroma: pleasantly malty; sharply incisive at the throat--not a boring stand-still lager.... palate: short notes: mellow and smooth, nice a nice cigar... taste: pearish, fruity, and surprisingly complex....some of it works, some of it trifles... overall: a pleasant beer to experience and revisit--quite a sessionable drink...
2.4 Cask at Jake’s Place. It pours clear deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is brown bread, toast, dark sugar, toffee and dried fruit. The taste is quite sweet, toasted sugar, toffee, earth and wood with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. No depth to it.... Very so-so.
2.5 tap at jakes places ... copper ... thin tan head... soft creamy musty sugery toffee ... too much dark roast suger ... sweet toffee fruits ... not me at all...
3.4 [keg at Jake’s Place, Edinburgh] Clear rich-looking copper brown beer with a decent white head. Aroma is quite heavy on the sweet toffee, with some stone fruit and light resin. Very sticky on the flavour, rich creamy caramel and toffee. Some booze hum on the finish. Decent Oktoberfest [12042013]
3.4 Bottle. Hazy orange on pouring. Quit tasty at first but the flavours soon fade. Didn’t really work for me.
3.3 golden brown amber brew with aroma of Belgian type beer spice and malt. flavor has some sweetness and fruit and the body is kind of creamy and slick with a rush of carbonation that tingles the tongue. a bit of caramel in there.
3.2 Bottle beers of Europe. Bottling date 02/07/13, I picked it up on the 6th in the UK!?? sweet malt and berry flavours, yeasty notes, with a bitter faintly sour finish. Softish palate, late staleness. OK.
3.7 12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/24/2012. Pours lightly hazy and cloudy orange copper color with a nice 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of apricot, pear, apple, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light nuttiness, light grass, and herbal hops. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity. Taste of apricot, pear, apple, caramel, toast, toffee, nuttiness, brown bread, grass, light roasted grain, and herbal hop spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, light roasted grain, grass, and herbal on the finish for a bit. Nice flavor balance and robustness; with almost zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice Oktoberfest style. Very nice flavor robustness and balance; and very smooth to drink. I enjoyed this quite a bit, well done.
3.4 Bottle. Vibrant amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is fruity with some bitterness, and the flavour is malty with some bitterness. Overall a nice fairly average roasted beer with some bitterness.
2.7 Bottle. Brown with an off white foam. Aromas are weetabix and chocolate with earthy hops and raisins. Floral soap with fudge and mellow berries. Flavours are sweet malts with raisins and lemon. Bready with a thin finish and soap. Average.
3.6 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy dark caramel-brown color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy caramel, honey, bread, toffee and nut. The flavor was sweet and tangy toasted caramel, toffee, nut, bread and faint dark fruits. Medium length sweet and tangy caramel and toffee finish. Medium body. Solid.
2.8 Keg (?) at The Earl Of Essex, home of Zwanze Day 2012. The pour’s deep brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is plenty of robust malt, some nut and caramel. The taste is clean grain, more caramel and sweet toffee. Malt-centric. Medium body, smooth and drinkable. Overall, there’s not going on here. Not a standout, though not offensive.
3.4 bottle. pours orange with thin head. big biscuit aroma. taste is very refreshing not overly sweet nice hop finish slight chewy
2.9 Good tasting beer, slightly bitter. Clear, medium dark brown color. Good flavor with a clean finish.
