3.23cl botlle courtesy of and shared with Kermis.
Thin off white head. Very hazy amber pour. A decent double
3.0Bottle shared. Hazy brown with a cream head. Aroma of massive caramel and toffee, sweet malt, light yeast and overripe dark fruit. Flavour is heavy sweet. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Bon corps. Fin sur le caramel cuit et candy.
4.0From Hipercor. In Teku glass. After dinner. Didnt expect much and have been surprised with a tasty dubbel, with a good amount of plum in its profile. 2 months before BB date.
3.0Bottle 75cl / Botella 75cl.
@ El Corte Ingles, Sevilla, España.
A: Hazy brown / Marron turbio.
T/S: Malt, sweet, yeast, fruity / Malta, dulce, levadura, afrutado.
3.8marrom escura turva, espuma persistente, odor e sabor frutados, maduro, encorpada. Bem no estilo
3.233cl pour from refrigerated bottle in Kazakhstan. Pours opaque, solidly brown with a light tan soapy head and notable carbonation. Nose is lightly sweet, dark fruit, lots of plum, raisin, apricot, some malty notes. Body is medium, crisp, a little on the watery side. Dry finish. Taste matches the nose with more of the maltiness present. A bitter grainy finish.
3.1Draught at Taberna Belga cons 2016-02-24 Braga, Portugal
AR: dry yeasty, wee light bread
AP: pale clear golden, wee bubbly head
F: fizzy, dry yeasty, bready
3.0Shared 750 ml corked & caged bottle, as Dominus Double Brune, at local tasting. Dark brown to ruby colour, large off-white head. Strong malty and sugary aroma, notes of brown kandij sugar and caramel, hints of mild spices. Sweet and sugary flavour too, more brown sugar than caramel. Minimal hops. Hints of acetone / glue. Not my favourite double - definitely not trappist quality.
1.7Shared bottle at local nautical tasting. Pours almost clear deep brown with a small creamy head. Strong malty aroma with prunes and raisins, something unpleasant , like rubber glue. Taste is burnt rubber with green apples, long unpleasant finish.
3.0Fra delt flaske på RBHD-treff på Fridtjoffen januar 2016. Klar dyp rubinfarget kropp med lavt lysebrunt tett skum. Kandissukker, viskelær og honning blant duftene. Søt med innslag av smørmalt. Litt varme med hint av aceton. God fylde.
2.5Shared bottle at RB/HD on board Fridtjofen 26.01.16. Muddy nut brown. Even pale brown head. Cloying aroma of sweet dried fruits and vegetables. Taste is more refreshng, with fresh and dried fruits. Green apples in aftertaste is pulling down.
Kandis, tørkede frukter og epler i smak og aroma. Hint av aceton/lappesaker for sykkel?). Mye grønne epler i ettersmaken.
3.4759 mL bottle. Brown, not much head. But the beer is a couple of years old. Fruit and yeast in the flavour and aroma. Appropriate, but not too interesting in this case. Body is a little thin.
3.3Bottled 330ml. -at Restavracija Eksperiment Ljubljana. Dark brown coloured, small off-white head, caramel and dried fruits in the nose. Almost the same in the taste; dried fruits, caramel, discreet alcohol and notes of spices in rather dry finish.
3.3Clear dark amber color with white head. Bready and yeasty aroma, with malts, sugar, caramel and dark fruits. Taste follows the aroma, with some dark fruity and malty notes, also caramel.
3.8Brown with little head. Nose is fuits hints of banana. Taste melon, spices caramel and yeast. Alcohol in the finish.
A very nice surprise perfect for this time of year.
3.3Bottle. Dark brown to dark chocolate colour with a beige head. The aromas are very intense and nice, malty and fruity. Right away, a fruitiness in the flavours reminiscent of plum, together with a toasted caramel. Finish tends to be long, with the oily texture still going on after a while. Carbonation is rather soft and does not interfere with the flavours. The body is medium (for this style of beer, that is). Fairly drinkable and enjoyable.
3.233 cl. bottle @ the bungalow in Vencimont, bought @ Delhaize, Beauraing.
Dark brown with a beige head. Malt, caramel and some coffee in the aroma. Sweet taste, low carbonation and a quite thin body. Not that good.
2.7Pours a ruby brown color, topped with a rather small tan head that quickly disappears. Aroma has some mild dry fruits in there and it’s also quite bready/yeasty - though not too excessively. Taste is sweet, again with yeasty notes. Slight soury feel in the finish. Not a big fan og dubbels, but this one was passable.
3.1An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, metal, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and fruits, leading to a dry finish.
3.3Foam: pale brown cream.
Colour: hazy red to brown.
Aroma: roasted malt/nutty, prune, with some chocolate notes.
Taste: malty, spicy, herbal, surprisingly tones of port wine, dry prune, dark fruits, candy syrupy, yeast, so quite good for this style, but something is missing….
2.8Red brown colour. beige head. dark sugar, sweet dark fruits. caramel, candy.
3.2light sweet Brown sugar aroma, brown, clear, off white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish,
3.2Amber coloured and almost clear. Has a white head, medium duration. Malty aroma, toasted, caramel, bread. Flavor is mainly sweet.
