Au moins cette Wit Goud est fun avec ses chicons. Elle n'est cependant pas à mettre dans les grandes bières. Trop simple pour cela. Agréable et rafraîchissante avec un brin de caractère, ce n'est pas mal tout de même. Grosse effervescence en débouchant et mousse blanc cassé très abondante. Couleur blond doré parfaitement limpide (EBC aux alentours de 26). Le nez est sur le citron, les céréales et une pointe de coriandre. L'ensemble fait "fermier". L'attaque est acidulée sur les arômes présents au nez. A partir de là, les arômes sont très linéaires et la bière très homogène. Ni de bonnes ou mauvaises surprise. La petite acidité cache l'alcool (8 % Abv) qui ne peut prendre son envol, mais renforce quelque peu l'amertume qui ne fait que 25 d'IBU. La corpulence et le final sont peu développés quant à eux. Pour passer un bon moment sous la chaleur estivale.

Bottle 37,5 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze and a dissipating off-white head. Aroma of overripe or even rotten fruit, moldy, phenollic. Medium body, again rotten fruit, but the beer is apparently brewed with chicory. Some may call it farmhouse, I call it mold, dust and infection with the most horrible phenollic notes. Belgian beer at its utmost worst. 250418
Van 't flesje bij de brouwerij. Uitzicht: troebel donker oranje met wit schuim dat vlug verdwijnt. Neus; zwakke neus, fris, citrus(appelsien). Mond: overdreven zoetigheid, mouten, rijpe appelsien, weinig andere tastbare smaken. Alcohol komt er niet uit. Nasmaak: alcohol, zoet, licht gekruid. Besluit: matig bier. Welk karakter moet dit uitstralen? Waar is de bitterheid van de chicorei?
$4.15 bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours golden with a large off-white head. Aroma is yeasty, light gum, light fruitiness. Flavor is yeast, lemon zest, bubblegum, crust, glue. Too much carbonation.
Piana obfita ale brzydka duże bąble, redukuje sie do niewielkiej ilości i tak pozostaje do końca degustacji. Kolor złoto lekko zmętniony. Aromat drożdżowy, kwaskowy, owocowy w belgijskim stylu. Smak pełnia słodowa, pszeniczna-zbożowa, lekka kwaskowatość, drożdże, estry owocowe, lekka dzikość w tle. Nagazowanie wysokie, alkohol ukryty ale czuć ze to solidne piwo, goryczka wyczuwalna szorstka. Piwo Bardzo dobre dość dziwne warte spróbowania, mocarna belgijska pszenica.
Bottle @ Home. Pours hazy golden with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, yeast, little caramel, spice, little fruity, light oxidation. Flavor is light sweet, malt, yeast, caramel, little oxidated, fruit, spice, alcohol. Medium body, average to lively carbonation, light sweet finish. 101117
Gekocht op zondag 5-2-2017 in de Struise Beershop aan de Burg in Brugge tijdens het 10é Bruggse Bierfestival. En geproefd op 12-10-2017. Witgoud is een wazig blond biertje waarvan na het verwijderen van de capsule het schuim zelf uit het flesje wil komen, even snel zijn dus om het uit te gieten. Dit schuim heeft een gebroken witte kleur en een stevige rotsachtige structuur. Ook bij het uitgieten zelf is het nog opletten omdat er zeer veel schuim gemaakt wordt (zie de foto met het proefglaasje). Het blijft ook sterk aan de glaswand kleven. Opmerkelijk is ook de goede stabiliteit van het schuim, nog nooit meegemaakt dat het zolang blijft. Na een tijdje worden het wel grovere bellen maar het blijft goed overeind. Toch maar weinig CO2 belletjes gezien van een middelmatige grootte. Het eerste aroma van Witgoud doet wat denken aan een pleister maar dit gaat snel over in een fruitig, druif perzik en een beetje citrus en een kruidig grassig aroma. Na een tijdje krijg je zelfs een appeltoets in het aroma. De smaak is zoet-fruitig en verrassing een klein azijn-zuurtje is er ook bij. Dit klein azijn-zuurtje wordt met de tijd wel wat sterker en doet de smaak neigen naar gueuze. In de mond vertoond Witgoud een volle boddy, een volmondige textuur en het koolzuurgas komt prikkelend over. Het is een zeer lekker biertje, gueuze is echt wel mijn dada, maar ik moet het toch als onevenwichtig bestempelen, het is helemaal geen gueuze maar het smaakt er wel naar, raar. In de lang uitvloeiende nasmaak zit dit zure ook nog in. Ik heb dit witte goud zeer graag gedronken, zoals ik ook gueuze's zeer graag drink maar ik had toch een iets specialere smaak verwacht van de cichorei-wortel. Niettemin een zeer lekker biertje. Bottle @McHendo's (Zoltan Tasting) Pours golden/orange, big fluffy white head. Nose is bubblegum, candi sugar, orange, yeast, bread, sherbet. Taste is more of the same slightly sweet finish.
37,5 cl. bottle at home. Medium high fluffy white lasting head. Hazy yellow body. Dusty straw aroma with a hint of lemon. Powerful dry malt straw coriander nutmeg flavor. Little hops bitterness, low carbonation, short finish. Hints of alcohol.
Very fecal lemon nose, coriander underneath. Cloudy copper, thick head. Bread crust, lemon, pepper. Full body, moderate carbonation.
Yeasty, tart apricot smell and taste. Rather sour finish with light carb. More of a saison theme than your average BSA.
330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, bright orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy to macropore, diminishing, off-white head. Fruity and vegetable-spicy aroma, hints of blood orange, celery and mild horseradish, a fruity ground layer with notes of physalis. Taste is sweet-ish fruity, vegetable-spicy, notes of physalis, mandarine, hints of blood orange, celery, chicory; soft palate, minimally watery passages, rather light and drinkable for 8% abv.
Robe orangée trouble, haute mousse blanche et crémeuse d’une tenue incroyable. Nez fruitée : pomme et mirabelle, cidre, levure. Attaque acide, saveurs de cidre, pomme, vinaigre, malt, houblon et chicon peu présent, faible carbo, longueur faible. Dans le style de la brasserie (pour celles que j’ai goutées en tout cas) : fermier et sauvage.
Aroma: Medium spiciness, dried apricot, apple, Medium-light coriander, dry spice. Light cinnamon, white pepper.
Appearance: Massive, white head, medium-sized bubbles. Fair to low retention. Clear, golden body.
Flavour: Medium bready, bitterness, coriander, white pepper, spicy. Light toasted, banana notes. Dry finish with lingering toasted, apricot and light alcohol tinge, floral.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light warming. Medium body. Medium-high carbonation.
Overall: Nice, complex. Easy drinking, hiding the alcohol quite well. I do not know the "witloof" plant or the flavours, but from reading I assume it is the spiciness.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a massive off-white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of white pepper, green apple and wheat. Flavour of vinegar, lemon juice and dry cider. Medium body with a frothy, fizzy mouthfeel. Too sour and carbonated for my liking. I couldn’t finish the bottle.
Bottle from de Caigny, as Witgoud, bottled 10.2014 BB 04.2017, 37.5 cl sample. Almost clear amber color with tiny debris, big soapy head. Aroma is quite flowery, slight funky and some flowery witlof I guess. Quite well balanced and complex. Flowery and earthy bitterness in taste, slight spicy. Bit dry in the finish. Interesting, and quite good actually. Thx bierkonijn for the suggestion (years ago).
33cl bottle at home. Pale yellow / golden with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with way too much carbonation. Medium bitter and sweet tones. Citrus, wheat and indeed some chicory. The carbonation was too overwhelming too really like this brew.
Bottle at home. Murky amber pour with huge white head. Slightly overpoured there. Salad of raw chiccory with caramelized sugar, some spring onion, white raisans, coleslaw and a pinch of salt. Big sweet, light bitter. Over medium body soft but very lively carbonation. Very sweet in the finish with the lightest and fresh bitter touch. I expected this to be quite horrible but it’s actually quite delicate. The caramelized notes are very crisp and tasty.
Probably my favourite beer from this incredibly good family brewery! Wit goud (white gold) is what we call our famous chicory. This beer has quite some chicory which gives a unique bitterness, very different from most hop varieties. 33cl bottle at work (oh yes that’s correct). Very hazy dark blonde, almost orange/amber. Aromas of yeast and chicory. Light to medium carbo. Slight sweetness. Drinks easily and the alcohol is well hidden. Very good and unique beer.
375 ml bottle. Unclear golden body with a big, creamy white head. Strong aroma of citric fruit, wheat and spicy yeast. Flavor is acidic and refreshing with wheat, citric fruit, spices, herbs and hint of alcohol. Fine balanced body and nice, long lasting aftertaste. Nice and refreshing.
Mistig oranjegoud bier met flinke witte kraag. Zure appel, witte wijn, abrikoos, gist. Zuur. Smaak zit tussen een Belgische blonde en sour ale in. Niet zo mijn ding.
KØLF 170616. Golden-orange colour with a white head. Aroma is coriander, citrus, lemon, sourness, yeast, pineapple. Flavour is coriander, wheat, citrus, lemon, sourness, yeast, spices, pineapple. Medium to full body. Nice beer.

hazy orange colour, one inch off-white head; aroma of wheat, wine cellar, lemony notes and some apricot; taste is dominated by acidic sourness with bread, apricot, tannins and earthy-dry white wine notes; live carbonation; it’s like a mixture of a Belgian strong ale and a sour/wild ale...well, with the dominance of this latter one - so denfinitely not a usual Belgian strong ale, but anyway, it is quite enjoyable
375ml bottle thanks to Matt. This was under the winter 11 lable. Pours out orange straw color topped with a white head. Nose is wheat spice yeast and some fruit notes. Taste is more of the nice malts fruit a little yeast and caramel.
33cl bottle from beermerchants. Hazy orange color. Medium white head. Taste is medium bitter and light to medium sweet. Aroma is spices, fruit, wood, honey, malt, yeast.
Lovely unclear deep yellow/golden color with a fine thick off white head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a bit rich carbonation. Quite acidic actually, but still highly drinkable. Yeast, citric, wheat and some spices. Tasty nice stuff.

mousse très abondante (trop) rendant difficile le service. Belle mousse compacte, homogène et stable. Bonne tenue. Robe orange foncé/ocre tout à fait opaque. Nez levuré et malté très belge, note de chicon déjà. Bouche moelleuse et surette. La douceur est coupée par une amertume verte herbacée (chicon peut-être). Les notes herbeuses ressortent légèrement, avec les notes levurées. Texture très carbonatée au début, devient plus veloutée ensuite. Bière très sauvage, difficile à faire entrer dans une case, fermière.
