This big, glowing, powerful IPA is packed with assertive Northwest hops that are floral, citrusy and resinous. A healthy dose of Munich malt helps to provide backbone and balance against the hoppy attack. The result? Explosive! Brewed with Gambrinus Organic Pilsner and Munich Malt, Centennial and Cascade hops. 7.0% ABV, 75 BU

3.516/X/15 - 50cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: XI/26/14 (although it only hit the shelves somewhere this summer) (2015-1483) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!
Clear orange beer, big irregular creamy big bubbled head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very yeasty, bit malty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, malty, bit sweet, dry, fruity touch. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, sweet malts as well, caramel, fruity finish.

3.3Thanks to Erwin! 500 ml. bottle sampled @ “Tim’s orgasmic Trillium tasting”. Bottled on 23/12/14. Hazy orange, small creamy white head. Nose is oranges, floral, odd mint note, muted by age, base malts are clearly evident giving it some Turkish delight like sweetness. Taste is odd mineral, floral, light mint, thinned by age with Turkish delight malt sweetness, old paper, some yeast, touch candy. Body is thinned & yeasty. Obviously too old to properly judge. Distribution might be potentially to blame here since the guy who brought this apparently purchased this rather recently. The malt base is decent enough for this to be somewhat okay still but clear signs of age are still heavily evident.
3.6Heldere oranje kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt fruitig, kruidig, orange. Smaakt fruitig, hop, honing, bloemig.
3.3Bottle from Safeway. Hazy light amber/golden in color. Pungent hop nose. No sweetness, possibly a touch of yeast. Malty flavors with a decent amount of hoppiness. Pretty clean sippable IPA. A little syrupy. Not bad.
3.3Bottle. Pours a glowing golden color with about a finger of sudsy white head. The nose is hoppy, mostly floral and grassy. Some hints of the maltiness. Lots of floral bitterness in the taste, lingering finish. Not sure if I’m a fan of the malt choice... seems to accentuate the bitters rather than sooth. Gets a little soapy at the end.
3.4Kolor: bursztynowy, zmętniony.
Piana:średnio obfita, drobnopęcherzykowa, dość trwała.
Zapach: wyraźny karmel, sporo chmielu, owoców tropikalnych, żywic.
Smak: średnia pełnia słodowa, wyraźny karmel, również sporo chmielu, żywic, goryczka średnia, wyraźna w kierunku wysokiej.
Wysycenie: średnie.
3.2Pours golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is musky with some tarte fruit. Taste is biscuit malt, pine, unripened pineapple - bitter kick on the finish. Definitely not fresh (unfortunately) but still drinkable.
3.050cl bottle. Small off-white head atop hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some grass, floral. Taste is moderately sweet, grass, grapefruit, some floral. Medium body, some resin, light acidity.
3.4Pours from bottle with a thick foam , tropical fruit and hop, and an almost DIPA sherbet aroma. Flavour is well balanced, with quite a bit of malt character.
3.6Burnished golden color out of the bottle with a sticky ivory head. Sweet orange and tropical fruit nose. Thick mouth feel with caramel sweetness and crust bread. Candied grapefruit rind, orange peel, some tropical fruit and a bit of grass in the finish. Pretty sweet beer. Nice hop burbs, though.
3.6Hazy orange beer, not much head. No lacing. Aroma is hoppy, there is grass, berries and some caramel. Honey sweetness. Taste has lots of grassy hops, herbs, some fruits and ending with a bitter hops. Quite full body and medium carbonation.
3.3Fluffy, just yellowish head over orange-golden beer; Typical exotic fruit nose, but in a syrupy, sweet way, apricot liqueur, maybe a tad oxydized. Bitter, metallic, bitter fruit. In the finish there is a grainy flavour, again seemingly just a tad oxydized. Orange- and apricot liqueurs, rosewater, if bitter. Very slick, well-bodied, good carbonation. Not a very outstanding IIPA, IMO.
3.5Aroma of biscuity malt, citrus, orange, fruits, pine resin, tea leaves, mild hops. Flavour is light sweet with a medium bitter finish. I usually like my IPA a lot more fruity and less malty, but I gues the tea leaves (which I’m a sucker for) won me over.
3.3Opaque, orange-brown beer with a nice white head.
Smell is white pepper, malty, leather, metallic. Quite crisp. Reminds me of a German ale.
Taste is deliciously balanced hop bitterness, complex and full without being overwhelming. Refreshing.
2.8Bottle, 11/07/15. Pours an opaque orange with a small, off-white head. Aroma is red fruits, peach, light banana. Taste is dry, red fruits, caramel. Hops are gone. Full.
3.430 June 2015, bottle. yellow/gold, clear, no bubbles. nose is soapy, grassy hops. med/thin body and mildly fizzy. granola malt, bitter, orange rind citrus. decent.
3.4Bottle picked up from Fyne Ales Brewery, consumed at Craigendmuir campsite, Stepps, Nr Glasgow, Thursday 18th June 2015 Pours hazy gold/orange with a white sticky head. It’s fine but no great shakes, it’s American so you get the standard American hoppy IPA flavour which more often than not tends to err’ towards malty and a touch too sweet. Some sweet orange and rind, yes it’s fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
3.7Had on draft at the brewery. Tropical fruit, hoppy, clean with very little grassy hop character. Great IPA.
3.2Delicate aroma with floral hop tones. Fairly lightly flavoured for an IPA but the balance is good. Moderate bitterness makes for a good session beer. Nice that the maltiness is retained well.
3.0Aroma is not that pronounced for an IPA. The body is creamy, but lacking bitterness. Some metallic taste in there. Not a good beer, or at least not this bottle.
3.0500 ml bottl. Appearance: A pale light hazy orange body, with t a small and somewhat thin, white head on top. Head has still a decent retention, but leaves hardly lacing. Aroma: Caramel malts with a hint of citrus and grapefruit, some floral tones in the back. Taste: Moderate sweet taste at the start followed by a strong bitterness some y. caramel malts, orange &grapefruit, straw, grass, Medium thin body, good carbonation,
Lacks some taste, not as arromatic as most US IPA’an a bit borring for me.
3.5(Double Mountain Hop Lava) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 7%
Pale orange colour on the body, lazy activity in it. Slightly hazy, wiht a small and somewhat thin, white head on top, with good retention nevertheless, but minimal lacing on the glass.
Caramel malts on the aroma with just a hint of citrus and grapefruit, some floral touches too.
Moderate sweet taste at first, giving its place to a quite strong bitterness almost straight away. Caramel malts, grapefruit, orange, straw, grass, citrus, moderate hoppy.
Medium thin body, good carbonation, quite dry palate.
Quite good, not very aromatic but the bitterness made it up for me.
3.2Growler - Cloudy dark hay color. Dry hop flavor but the hop flavor is not very strong or over powering. Very little sweetness. Not very complex on the nose or palate.
3.2shared 50cl bottle, poured a cloudy golden colour with a white head on top, notes of citrus, crisp, grass, grapefruit, orange, dusty mouthfeel, wet cardboard, some pine bitterness, meh
3.5Bottle. Golden color. Grassy citric aroma with tea leaves and soft herbal notes. Assertive grassy citric hopbitter flavor. leavy. Remarkably short aftertaste. Hint of red fruit. Nice!
3.0Cobrizo limpio espuma marfil compacta. Aromas de galleta algo oxidados y herbáceo. Cuerpo medio, sabor herbáceo plano y amargor resinoso suave.
3.3Bottle. Golden, hazy, average to large and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, light caramel - faint bread and light tropical fruitiness with some piney - light grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish flavor, some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some piney - light grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish, light caramel - faint bread, light ropical fruitiness, some piney - light grapefruit hoppynes, faint alcohol. Too sweet/too much caramel - could use more bitterness to balance caramel and sweetness. Nice head though.
