2.8 Keg at Manx Pub, Ottawa. Almost clear pale amber, small head. Restrained grapefruit aroma. Dryish with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Piney grapefruit that turns into powerful resiny bitterness. A straightforward hop bitterness assault.
3.3 Tall can from LCBO. Balanced bitterness with a relatively hoppy finish. Nice copper colour. Average carbonation, average head when poured.
3.0 473 ml can. BBE 21.01.2017. Pours clear orange color with a small head. Aroma is toffee and some hops, faint resin, moderately fruity, a bit stuffy. Flavor is nutty dry, malty, some bitterness and hops, distant honey. Not very pleasant. 4323
2.5 473 ml bottle. Pours a dark amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of wet wool, mild graininess and some herbal notes. Flavour of harsh graininess, wet wool, some acrid notes, hay and bread. Light bodied. Harsh and unpleasant.
2.2 Can. Pours clear orange with small white head, doesnt stay. Aroma: raddish, caramel, goutweed, some one has died in that beer. Taste: medium biteer, caramel, goutweed, pungeon, bad. Thin plus body. Bad beer.
2.9 473 ml can. BB Feb/25/2017. (LCBO) Sault St Marie, ON. Clear golden color with a mid-size foamy white head. Pear, sweetness, cookies, mild bitterness and fruit jam in the aroma. The flavor is sweet fruity hops, moderate bitterness, pear and cookie malt. Unbalanced.
2.4 Thick, frothy head! Malty, sweet palate with a bitter finish. Not what I was expecting or hoping for, from a microbrewed IPA. As one reviewer has already noted, this is more of an extra pale ale. In that respect, it’s decent. As an IPA, well it really isn’t one, so I guess I’m disappointed!
3.1 A grassy, spicy and sweet aroma that doesn’t promise much. Lemony hops and bready malts compete for the taste. Definitely an EPA; not an IPA
3.0 Orange color. Some caramel in the aroma. Taste has some pine and bread. Very bitter at the end but not in a good way
3.1 Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, honey and clove.Taste is slight toffee and toasted malts. Some oats and cereal here aswell. A light basic earthy and citrus tartiness on the tip that is fairly well balanced. Appearance is a hazy orange with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.
3.1 Can from Loblaws. Hazy orange body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tangerine, caramel and grass. Flavour of grapefruit, sweet malts and steel. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Light fizz. A mild, sugary IPA.
2.5 Can into Euro pint glass. Mild citrus aroma. Pours a clear amber with off white head. Taste is mild bitter. Light bodied with a somewhat thin texture, mild bitter aftertaste. Somewhat disappointing.
3.2 Pours clear amber with a white head that laces the glass. Good aroma of hops and caramel. Taste of malts, caramel and hops with a good bitter dry finish. Decent beer.
3.8 473 ml can. Pours a clear golden with a thick, resilient white head. Aroma is lemon, grapefruit, pineapple and toast. Flavor is toasty, some caramel. Finish is lemon, lime, grapefruit, pineapple, earth and tea. Medium body, soft mouthfeel and average carbonation.
3.1 It’s not too often that I see my regulars giving a higher rating for a beer than the crowd, but in this case a 3.3 from Freaky_tiki makes it interesting. This beer was chosen for my by my daughters as a birthday present, so take note cartoons on a can are a real draw fro 3 and 5 year old girls. Pours a rich, clear golden with a reliable finger of head. Nose is very malty with sunny hay with syrup in the nose that overlays any hops. Taste is equally heavy on the malts, with mild sweetness and heavier on the bittering hops which linger. Not much of an IPA, especially by today’s hop-bomb standards, but drinkable. I suppose it’s training wheels approach to hops is the sessionable part of this beer, rather than the booze level. Personally I don’t care about the IBU if they are well balance, as I’ve given hop-adverse folks hop-bombs that they love, so maybe training wheels shouldn’t be necessary.
2.5 Canned. NS 2015. Not crazy about this one. Very dry and tart. Too citrusy for my liking. Lacked the hops I had hoped for. I found that it just left me thirsty.
2.6 Can from LCBO. Pours a near clear amber with a modest off-white head. The nose is earhy hops, very faint fruits. The same strange (yeasty?) note I got from their Prison Break Pilsner - not a fan of that. Taste is fruity sweet and slightly bitter-like, with an earthy-dirty bitter finish. Slightly watery with moderately active carbonation. It’s a disappointment. Not really related to the commercial description on the can.
2.5 (can) clear, amber colour with a small beige head; aroma of fruit compote; simple, balanced flavour (that is if you can find any flavour), I have had brown ales with more hops than this...
2.3 473ml can. Golden pour. Bland aroma, some mild orange. Flavor is balnd, metallic, spicy, malty, crappy.
3.2 Can. Pours a clear amber with minimal white head. Aroma of resin and dog kibble. Taste is slightly bitter. Overall average beer.
2.9 473ml can into English pint. Pours a golden straw colour with light white head, narry a fizz from the pop of the top. Nose of light citra, malts. More malt-forward flavour, but lasting bitter astringency in the finish. Not a whole lot to it, and there are plenty of better locals readily available.
3.0 473 ml can. Pours a dark gold with a large billowy white head. Aromas are quite malty with a touch of resin. Tastes are similar with malt forward and pine on the finish. Medium to high carbonation, creamy, and a fairly lengthy astringent finish. Not a bad IPA but still a little heavy on the malts for my tastes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
3.2 Canette 473ml. Couleur orangée voilée, mousse beige très pâle aérienne. Arôme de citronnelle, malt, houblon herbal. Goût de malt assez présent, citronnelle, un peu sucré, touche d’alcool, amertume moyenne-faible. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.
3.0 Can. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of sweet grains and toffee with a bit of pine underlying. Flavor has bread and sweet grain throughout with a touch of pine.
3.0 Canned. Nice golden body, small white head. The aroma is a fresh one, just like the taste. The finish could be more prominent thiugh, so its only an average ipa.
2.7 Pours clear amber with thick foamy head. Aroma is hoppy. Taste is similar. Somewhat bitter. Ok, not great, brew.
2.9 Tall boy from LCBO. Pours a crystal clear amber, with a very thin white head of bubbles. Aroma is a bit disappointing, not a whole pile of hops there, and those there are a bit oxidized. Slight caramel and bready nose, and a touch of that papery cardboard texture. A bit of resin lingering around there too. Taste is more of the same, with a sweet malty flavour upfront, and a very light bitterness, only balancing it really and offering none of the hop punch you’d expect out of an IPA. Medium to light body, with an average carbonation and a fairly abrupt resin aftertaste. Mediocre enough offering all-in-all I must say, wouldn’t really come rushing back to it.
3.3 Poured a pretty small head which didn’t stay long but leaves a paper thin layer. Has a light amber appearance. Some wheaty, floral aromas. Very hoppy but a bit more bitter. Citrus flavours, fairly malty. Not too bad.
2.4 Light nose, I think got robbed of the hops! Clear Amber, got robbed of the head too. Grassy , soapy aftertaste. Thin.
