3.6 Dark brown pour. Even lace. Thin foam. Vanilla, cocoa nibs, caramel, coffee. Vanilla and coffee palate. Nice balanced stout.
2.0 Meh--tastes stale and dull despite its abv and despite (or because) of the addition of syrup/extract, much worse than the Guinness equivalent sitting next to it on many Bajan shelves, no need to repeat. (9.6 fl. oz --the irregular size, defined on the label as 284 mL, corresponds as I suspected to an even number [10[ in the Imperial system--bottle, Christ Church, Barbados)
2.7 Bottle from WW. Dark brown, small beige head. Nose is roasted malt, corn, grasses... un-stoutlike to me, and not really pleasant. Sweet chocolate malt, caramel, grasses. Tastes cheap. Meh.
0.5 Gross fruity

4.7 Oh wow, this was really good. Felt for a while like I was having my first McEwan's Scotch Ale but then I realized I as in Jamaica with what has to be one of their finest exports. Thanks to Kasunick's beer shop in Pittsburgh for having this on their shelves.
2.5 28.4 cl bottle (BBD 2021-01-21), bought from Sainsbury's, drunk at home 2020-12-05. Appearance is a clear deep brown/black with a moderate thickness, slightly irregular coffee coloured head that dissipates pretty quickly. Tiny amount of visible carbonation on the surface. Well, it definitely looks like a stout. I'd like the head to linger a lot more, but it's fine. Aroma is pretty nondescript. A little bit of milk chocolate, a touch of berries, and a sweetish slightly artificial note that I just can't place - almost butterscotch? It's fine, but it's pretty dull for a 7.5% stout, and it's really quite faint. Taste is similarly fine. Really quite sweet - not even really chocolate, more just sugar. Trying to distinguish something else is pretty hard - creaminess I guess and a bare hint of roasty bitterness on the finish. Dominated by the sweetness though. It's not unpleasant - it's just far, far too sweet and a bit indistinct. Palate is fine. Medium-light bodied, quite smooth and round, but definitely a bit watery. Finish is pretty short too. Basically no in-mouth carbonation. Kind of fits the taste, but the wateriness lets it down. Overall, this is okay, but it's far too sweet and it suffers for not having enough body or depth in flavour to match the ABV. Perfectly drinkable, but not one I'm going to bother seeking out again (unless I'm looking for a cheap hit).
2.9 Old rating from 2014 - 284ml bottle, gift from friends. Pours black with a beige creamy head. Aromas & tastes of molasses, brown sugar, chocolate, coffee, black currant & liquorice. Moderate body. Barely carbonated. Sweet finish
3.5 Starts off like a sweet milk stout but evolves into a more complex beast. Pours near black with a foamy tan head, and an aroma of treacle and liquorice and a hint of sweet coffee. The taste kicks off as sweet malt, a milky mouthfeel, with roasted malt coming in before a mild hop bitterness finishes things off, with some faint tartness and the liquorice hitting the aftertaste
3.4 284ml Bottle from Tesco, Mam and Dad's holiday. Black-brown-copper coloured with a very thin tan head of foam. It has a chocolate and liquorice flavour with a bubbly mouthfeel and milk chocolate and dried fruit on the finish. Not bad.
4.1 This is a really delicious stout from Jamaica! The beer pours a pitch black color with a very ample light brown head. The head leaves a beautiful lace around the inside of the glass. The nose is definitely on the sweet side, with notes of caramel, molasses, figs, dates and stinky, floral hops. The mouthfeel was quite smooth, making this stout a fairly drinkable one. The flavors were a delicious combination of sweet and a little sour. I tasted some notes of chocolate, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, light hops and a sour note of dark fruits. At 7.5%, this Caribbean stout packs a bit of a punch. I can't really imagine myself drinking this while in Jamaica, but in the cold Northeast, this stout is perfect on a December afternoon.
3.0 Nice, but really strong, including in taste.
4.0 Wow. A Jamaican stout. Brought a bottle from a local off-licence, I haven't seen this before. Slightly smooth to pour. Great taste and aroma and more than what I would expect from a stout. Stronger than expected. I would definitely buy another bottle.
2.9 284ml bottle from Tesco, bb 20/10/2021 Black, light tan head. Nose - burnt toast, cold sugary coffee. Taste - sweetish, malt, coffee. Watery and messy.
5.0 Caramel sweet toffee.. This from my very Ltd taste tests is my fav so far I'm in a quest to find the perfect one to help me sleep and enjoy at the same time while getting some goodness.. But better than pills.. This had a very sim look to guiness but no where near as bitter or sour.. yep that's my taste buds for u.. It was like drinking liquid black Jack's rem them lol.. But I am also having it with lemonade ohh the heathen I hear u cry but I'm not a expert I'm a non sleeping female who knows what she likes and willing to try diff things
2.9 284ml bottle bbe Jan-21 bought in Asda from the Caribbean shelves. Pours black with a beige fizzy head which dissipates after a minute. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, brown sugar. Medium carbonation, with a sticky oily texture on the palate. Taste of malt, coffee, and sweet dark sugars. This is only my second stout, with the first being Guinness. This is a very different proposition being more sweet, higher carbonation, less bitter and less smooth. I'm not convinced this is a balanced beer but having said that it is flavoursome the more you drink. I left it out of the fridge for half-hour before consuming but maybe an hour is better. Overall I enjoyed it but don't know enough about stouts to say I can recommend it.
3.7 From BS Tesco
3.8 Pours dark with a thin coffee head - rich aroma, roasted malt, dried winter fruit, Demerara, coffee, vanilla. In taste, coffee and cream, malt, biscuit, currants, banana, chocolate, sweet lingering finish. Quite well carbonated for a stout. Always love the design on this - flaming red dragon on black. Reliable stout, but you need to like them sweet (I do).
3.4 Rocky tan head stayed on a black body. Malt aroma. Medium bodied, soft over the tongue with a clean back. Sweet berries, malt, demerara, jam & syrup tastes. Nice one.
3.2 Thanks to SimonTomlinson. Black appearance. Aroma is coffee and malt. Flavour is sweet, coffee, milk chocolate and malt.
3.0 Pris en Jamaïque lors d’un voyage ,de couleur noir .on n’a de notes de chocolat et de mélasse .on goûte le chouette un peu la mélasse et il manque de profondeur
3.2 Bottle from Sainsburys. BB Jan 2021; Drank Feb 2020 - Dark brown / black. Medium creamy tan head. Roasty malts, caramel, chocolate, coffee, sugar, liquorice notes. Dark fruits, banana. Sweet roast caramel chocolate and coffee malty fruity. Easy drinking. Hides ABV well, but it is much too sweet. (2020-02)
3.2 Bottle. Looks black. Port, chocolate, molasses, cherry liqueur, bit of a harsh boozy finish. Medium body. Not bad.
1.4 Aroma : Rich dark roasted malts, strong alcohol, treacle sweetness, hint of liquorice & earth. Taste : Way too sweet with an astringent alcoholic burn to boot; not balanced by any bitterness at all. Normally love this style but this was horrible - didn't finish it !
2.9 285ml bottle. Purchased and consumed at the airport in Jamaica on the way home from Montego Bay. Poured black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, vanilla, molasses. Taste was sweet, creamy, molasses, roasted, chocolate, sugary.
3.3 0,284l bottle drunk in my hotel , ought at a supermarket in Barbados. BB 20.09.2020. black color, small coffee colored head. smells burned malts, licorice, earthy, brown sugary, bit nutty. ok smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes earthy, burned malts, licorice, nutty, light brown sugar, peppery, toffee, some minerality. finishes bit roasty and a bit sweet with notes of burned malts, licroice and some notes of minerality. decentish, not top of the line anymore, but drinkable. Rather too heavy though, and balance isnt the greatest..
3.1 Unusual for a stout or a foreign stout. The aroma has an odd mixture of iron, raw cereal grains and salt. Flavor has some malt sweetness, the roasted flavor of malt is not especially prominent, nor is the palate as heavy as what I typically expect of the style. Some flavor of iron, more salt and a hint of red wine. It actually grows on me more as I drink it.
3.5 Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of mocha and chocolate. Taste has creamy chocolate element with a distinct nutty taste. Palate has hints of vanilla, light roasted notes on the tongue. Good.
4.2 Gets you rather drunk rather quickly, leaves you with a bad head also but then again that's if your like me and drinks 15 bottles of the stuff on a weekend, my favourite drink right now
