Pours dark amber with a medium, frothy, yellowish head. Aroma has mild caramel, piney hops, light raisin, mildly toasted notes. A bit of strawberry and resin. Medium carbonation, super-lovely creamy mouthfeel. Good dryness. Flavour has a very elegant maltbase of caramel balanced with sharp, but never overpowering hops bitterness. Pine, grass, strawberries. Super balance. Really a wonderful drink.

The aroma holds woodsy, earthy, floral, herbal, mild grassy and light citric/fruity hops alongside nutty, caramelly, toffee-ish and cookie-like malt. Bit of nutty yeast, cream, tobacco (Swedish snus) and a touch of canned fruits. The flavour is light sweet, near medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of citric, fruity, floral and light woodsy hops alongside toasted, nutty, cookie-like and light caramelly malt. The mouthfeel is round, soft, clean and creamy with light to medium carbonation. Soft roasted cookies, flowers and grapefruit on the finish. Medium bodied.

4.1Bomber poured into my Stone IPA glass; I have recently been very impressed with Drakes; first the Hopocalpse; then the Drakonic and now this! Very dense aroma of bread and yeast; dark dark red and yet very clear. The taste is a great balance between fresh hopped IPA with a darker malt bill. It reminds me of one of my all time favorites, which is Ballast Point Tongue Buckler. Great beer Drakes!!
