4.1 June 24, 2017 - at BeerBistro, on draught. Slightly hazy amber-gold with a huge and lasting thick creamy off-white head. Pineapple/mango aroma with lemon ziest and light pine - on the sweet side, but enough bitterness to attempt balance. Taste follows, better balance, more bitterness and alcohol. Chewy, airy mouthfeel, medium-long pithy finish - solid friggin IPA.
4.2 This is one of my favourite IPA’s. Excellent hoppy flavour with a golden colour. This beer is really nice fresh and it’s pretty strong.
4.8 The baseline for IPA. An absolute favorite it seems.
4.0 Pours golden with foamy and dense head, reducing to small bubbly cover of the beer surface. Aroma is honey, floral, molasses, yellow ripe fruits, tropical. Flavor is piney, herbal, citrous and resinous bitterness on the sweet and satisfying malty backbone.
3.9 Medium golden with a rich Rocky white head mixed bubble sizes, cascading effervescence, pine, cedar, some dankness, bits of green onion, light Bitterness, lightly creamy feel. This is shaping up well over temp changes, light caramel and molasses sweetness
4.1 Definitely a reference as an IPA, nice aroma, robust taste, sweet hoppy taste, a sure thing for me.
2.5 Nearly clear. Light copper colour. Almost no head. Aroma is fairly tropical. Taste is super sweet with notes of seltzer and concentrated juice. Super high carbonation level.
3.6 Draft @ Walrus Pub & Beer Hall, Toronto. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty piney hoppy grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty piney grapefruit hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty grapefruit hoppy bitter finish.
2.4 650 ml bottle served in a white wine glass. It pours hazy lemonish yellow, off.white sticky head. Aroma is intense pine, dry lemon, bread, funky gym t-shirt. Yeah, the last one wasn't nice. Taste is dry, fizzy, fresh and super bitter. Long-lasting finish with a load of bitterness. Mmm...
3.8 Bottle found in the basement of mom (must have been there since 2014 I guess) Poured hazy orange with a yellowish small foamy head. Aroma of honey, some tropical fruits, raisins. Taste has mango, sweet fruits, honey, nice bitterness came when warm. Smooth mouthfeel.
3.6 From a bomber bottle. Pours hazy light amber with a 2-finger white head. Aroma is mostly of piney hops, maybe some tropical fruit too. Body is full and on the oily side, but pleasantly so. Long finish with a touch of astringent dryness. Juicy citrus flavor with some resiny pine beneath.
3.9 Vancouver 24/7 2018. 50 cl on tap in The Slogan Restaurant on E Hasting Street. Pours clear yellow with small white head. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is intense and fruity. Sweet exotic fruit - peach and mango, bubblegum. Notable citric notes. Light carbonation. Thin, watery texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by strong citric bitterness. Aftertaste is dry. Fine IPA with intensity and dry as a Italian White Wine.
2.2 Totally overrated. Not dry-hopped and not unfiltered. If you're in Canada try Collective Arts 'Ransack the Universe IPA' or now sold in Canada= Omnipollos 'ZODIAK". Both are waaaay better examples of IPAs.
2.7 So I was shocked by this score, but I'm starting to think it may be the place I had it at. I haven't really been impressed with any of the beers here at Craft Beer Market in Calgary. I think it's a store issue.
5.0 The perfect beer
3.8 Had on draft st the hotel bar that I was staying in. Pours golden and is not hazy. Kind of reminds me of a rye ipa. The head doesnt last. Has a very smooth body
3.6 650 ml bottle poured at home. Pours amber with a fluffy white head. Smells like flowers and honey. Tastes floral and sweet, but finishes bitter. Pretty good.
1.0 way to over rated
3.8 From a bomber. Pours a cloudy honey color and makes a thick, fluffy white head. Aroma is full of hops and taste is simply fantastic with a good balance of malt and hops. Not too sweet, not too dry.
1.7 Bottle at the DC RateBeer tasting. Slight hazy golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of malt, corn, wheat, floral notes. Tastes of floral notes, malt. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
4.1 Clear golden color with white head. Aroma has some butter biscuits and resiny hops and some overripe tropical fruits. Taste follows with buttery notes but not in a bad way at all. Towards the finish it gets quite bitter with lingering grapefruit notes. Medium body and carbonation. Quite good overall, a more old school take on an IPA but I really enjoyed it.
3.7 Bottle. Light-to-medium orange-amber. Frothy top. Both woodsy and fruity, this is a good compromise westie, with a wet, marshy charcter overall. (#6836, 11/23/2017)
3.8 Pale golden orange with a rocky white head. Light palate. Hop forward with plenty of tropical and melon notes and a very light malt backbone. Lingering bitterness without getting too dry in the finish. A flavorful and hop filled IPA that carries a light profile throughout.
4.6 I have not had many Canadian IPA's, but this is legit. Hops are big without sacrificing balance and palate.
4.6 Great IPA bold taste with a long hop finish. One of my favourites. Great beer for a good price.
4.0 650 ml bottle. Hazy yellow colour, thick white head. Sweetish aroma of grapefruit, malt, mangoes, notes of pine. The taste is malty, with a note of caramel, grapefruit, and a lingering, herbal and resiny hoppy finish. Very tasty.
3.9 Light haze to a straw yellow pour with a light but stick white head. Aroma is malty pine. Taste follows nose. Fruit pine and malt.nice light bitter bite at the end.
3.3 Pours a clear golden orange on tap with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of bready malts and piney hops. Taste follows, solid west coast IPA with moderate bitterness. Decent.
