Du Bocq Blanche de Namur

Du Bocq Blanche de Namur

Blond, cloudy, milky (colloïdal by cold). The cloudy appearance is created at low temperature but disappears when the beer gets warmer or when it is kept too long in the cold.
Fine fruity with a scent of the used spice, coriander and bitter orange.
Smooth beer, thirst-quenching but mild, slightly acidulous, powdery consistency on the tongue, not bitter

3.8 Légère et désaltérante
3.7 Definition of the classic style and how it should be made. Superb citrus notes with a nice clean round body. Gollem raamsteeg ams
3.7 Nice opaque pale gold, decent head. Lemony fresh malty aromas Nice fruity dry semi-bitter taste, balances out in aftertaste with some sweetness. Invites another sip. Medium carb, rich creamy mouthfeel Nice and refreshing beer! Great for summer! And at 4.5%, not too strong. 330 bottle.
2.8 Flasa v garazi na Racianskej. Silna svieza citrusova vona. Merne kalna citrusova farba. Chut jemne citrus potom horkost a vodovost. Na konci nie zaujimave.
2.9 Aroma: Fruits and floral notes with yeast. Flavour: Fruity sweet with banana and elderflower. Aftertaste is sweet. Colour: Hazy pale yellow with a white head. From: Bottle @ Nemlig webshop.
3.2 Bier met weinig smaak zeer neutraal
3.1 zamglony jasne. aromaty kwasku cytrynowego, w smaku lekko cytrusowe, delikatnie kwaskowe
3.6 0.25l lahvové zakoupené přes slovenský internetový obchod drinkshop.sk. Velmi příjemné překvapení. Pivo silně zakalené, typická witbearovská pšenično-pomerančovo-koriandrová vůně, v chuti plné, výrazné, pšeničné, citrusové, osvěžující.
3.5 Classical Witbier. Hazy straw color with a good white head. Aroma: Malt - hay, wheat, bread. Hops - citrus, grapefruit. Not more than a hint of coriander. Mouth: Dry and fresh. Low bitterness. Light/medium body.
3.3 Bottle shared, hazy golden white, small-medium head. Aroma is citrus, wheat, lemon, coriander. Taste is the same, wheat tart, lemon, nice on a hot day
3.1 Can courtesy of Mrs. Ozzy. Poured hazed light golden with a foamy white head. Aroma of orange, coriander, citrus, yeast. Taste was mild sweet, orange, lemon, citrus, light overall flavor.
3.5 330ml. bottle and draught. Tasted several times during my trips to Belgium. [#3.854 Global - #133 Belgium - #1 Brasserie du Bocq] Light hazed yellow colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma: Coriander, banana, clove and yeast. Taste: Light floral, banana, coriander, yeast and spiced malts. Classic Witbier. Next one please!
3.7 Old rating from 2014 - 330ml bottle from my road trip to Belgium. Poured at home in Jersey, it's hazy orange with a white creamy head. Aromas & tastes of peaches, lemon, flora, yeast, hints of spices & herbs. Medium body. Dry light bitter finish.
3.0 Quite murky bear. No bitterness (expected) and a lot of fruits hints in the taste.
3.7 Hazy lemon juice colour. Large head with medium retention. Aroma intensity 4/5. Floral aroma with notes of acacia, cut grass, basement and a touch of lemon. Light bitter, dry finish. Quickly vanishing structure. Light body
3.3 Dimmigt ljusgul med tjockt vitt skum. Doftar kryddigt, lite fruktigt. Smaken fyllig, lite kryddig och söt. Eftersmaken hyggligt lång, lite kryddigt söta toner, lite gräddig på slutet.
3.6 33cl bottle from store. Opaque and pale yellow color, small thin head with kind of big bubbles. Taste is great, remains a bit underlying compared to other belgian blanches and is gentle and soft with citrus notes, also orange peel and little spiciness. Was really surprised by this floral, sweet fruity taste and i would ranked it among the finest belgian blanche i tried. Really a pleasure.
3.2 A classic Blanche. Pale yellow color, with very vague shades of green, and a decent and moderately persistent white head. The aroma is full of lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange zest and flowers, coriander, white pepper and, possibly, unripe banana. The taste is consistent with the aroma, with the addition of vague fresh herbaceous notes. The body is fairly watery with a thin and moderate carbonation and a well balanced citric-herbal bitterness, accompanied by a pleasant tartness to cleanse the palate. All in all a quite lovely blanche, very coherent with the reference style, although, perhaps, it lacks a bit of extra personality.
3.3 Bottle. Cloudy milky pale yellow feat. a huge beautiful white head. Aroma of lemons, zest and grapefruit. Taste is even more citrus fruits (oranges join the fun) plus coriander and yeast. Slightly salty, spicy and soapy. Strong carbonation. Not overly exciting but really refreshing after a hard day‘s night. Neat.
3.4 Can from The Oak Barrel. Hazy yellow with a nice white head. Aroma is lemon, orange, coriander. Light clean citrusy light spiced flavor. Medium light and crisp. Solid wit.
3.9 Ottima, ideale come aperitivo. Leggera e profumata.
3.0 color: amarillo palido turbio, con abundante espuma blanca olor: citrico, trigo, sabor: cilantro, muy suave con poco cuerpo, ligeramente ácida, y casi sin amargor.
3.2 0.33l bottle from Auchan. Hazy yellow body, very pale. White head, small, big bubbles and vanishing quickly. Sourish lemon aroma with some spices. Sour and sweet taste with some spiciness and a bit of Belgian yeast is also detectable. Strong carbonation, fizzy and somewhat watery palate. Less complex that some other Belgian Wits. Kind of OK, probably very refreshing on a hot summer day, but I expected more.
3.8 Bottle. Cloudy pale yellow color, fine white head. Spicy aroma, coriander, floral, fruity. Medium sweet, low bitter taste. Dominant coriander and fruity spicy aftertaste. Full body, medium carbonation.
3.4 BB 21/02/21. From a stubby poured a clouded pale yellow with 2cm of bright white open foam that diminished slowly to a cap that retained well and laced poorly. Aroma of moderately strong of citrus (lemonade-like) and spices (possibly coriander). Taste slightly of citrus (lemon) which gives a slight acidic sourness and slightly of grainy wheat; delicate but not a lot of flavour for the style. Light body. Smooth, crisp, clean and refreshing with a thin mouthfeel (a bit too watery) and a medium-length finish. Nice and different.
3.0 This beer has a cloudy body which you would expect from a wheat beer It is a very simple beer with very little added spices and relatively light in flavor when compared to something like blue moon. Being that, when it is ice cold, it has supreme drinkability, and is rather refreshing being at 4.5% alcohol, I finished the pint in about 4-5 minutes. The Head is strong at first but dissipates rather quickly, the flavour is strong in its wheat undertone. The carbonation is very light, something like a emergency tablet in water, it is just carbonated enough to not be offensively flat, yet not so carbonated that it effects drinkability I paid $3 (USD) and in my opinion this would be a great $2 beer on tap, it will work with any food, although I would not get a mug larger than a pint as when it is warm the putrid flavors of inexpensive macro brewing become apparent. This beer gets a 6/10 rating and is a good simple wheat beer with great wheat flavour and supreme drinkability. Again I would order another pint before drinking this at any temp higher than ice cold. This is a great starter beer for a meal with savoury appetizers, a great palate cleanser. I would move on to more supreme abbey or farmhouse/Saison ales for the main dinner course as they have a more profound flavor and taste great cold or at room temperature for different reasons.
