Dark reddish brown, clear, living beer with a fine and generous white head. Typical, rich, estery smell (fermentation), scent of coriander, balanced. Special malts, full mouthed, balanced, slightly bitter aftertaste.

3.433cl bottle at home. Appearance: dark brown with medium sized off-white head. Aroma: brown sugar, molasse, sweet malts, hint of raisin and red fruit. Taste: high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of brown sugar, sweet malts, apricot, some red fruits. Palate: medium bodied, slightly watery / sticky texture and lively carbonation. Overall: an average brown that's a bit on the sweet side. Not very good.
3.9Bottle at home. Very dark mahogany colour, beige creamy head. Quite complex malty dried fruits, molasses, herbal, liquorice notes, some coffee, well balanced altogether. Good body, lively carbonation.
2.9Dark brown with a very rich, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is malt and spice. Taste is fairly sweet with some cinnamon, caramel, and fruit. Somewhat boozy.
3.3Rather boozy tasting but a decent Dubbel style beer overall. Pours a light burgundian amber with a fizzy beige head. The nose is malt forward with molasses and raisin notes, smells rather caramelized and has light spicy and dried fruit notes. Light bitterness on the finish but rather astringent with a light metallic note, warm booziness. A good beer but rather forgettable.
3.4330 ml bottle. Amber brown with a medium beige head. The flavour is sweet and herbal with a hint of iron as well. On the sweet side, but fairly balanced by the alcohol.
3.723/08/2017 - 33cl bottle @ B&B Le Vieux Marronnier Foy-Notre-Dame.
Brown to amber colour, big creamy tanned head. Nose is dark malts, caramel, spices. Taste is dark malts, caramel, some fruits, spices, some alcohol. Very balanced and decent, not outspoken like the saison.
3.5Dégustée en hiver 2007-2008 au Saint-Bock (De mes notes papiers). .
2.6Bottle - reddish brown with small off white head. Fruity aroma, fairly sweet. Bit of a ting on tongue and in mouth. Not as good tasting as blonde - bit too sweet, high alcohol @ 8.1%.
3.4Aroma - not the richest seemed, but is interesting - prunes with burnt sugar, when heated appears the liquorice . In the taste a little sharply you feel alcohol, a little leavened some spices. The aftertaste captures the same liquorice.
3.5330ml bottle pours an amber brown colour with a massive white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark fruits with some caramel and coriander. Taste is a dark fruity and caramel malty sweetness with a spicy hop bitterness finishing with a dry yeasty finish. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a pleasant, easy drinking brew that hides the alcohol well and is balanced and tasty. Recommended.
3.2Klares rotbraun mit reichlich Schaum. Malzig, süßlich, etwas Karamell, brauner Zucker, leicht fruchtig, Rosinen.
3.9Pours mahogany brown with high beige head. Aroma is caramel, some sourness, leather, spices, gingerbread, creamy, some milk, cinnamon, toffee. Taste is caramel, creamy, oily, some spices, toffee, milk chocolate, cinnamon, coriander, whipped cream. Very good beer!

T:

F:

O:
Fairly fruity and soapy Belgian Brown Ale.
Not for me.
3.8I take this beer keg format. Although I prefer the format bottle. A good beer, but without the quality of the great Belgian beers of this style
4.275cl bottle. Pours brown with big tanned persistent head. Plum and other dark fruits, yeast. Really soft mouthfeel, cannot taste alcohol. More sweet than bitter. Really good.
3.5Pours a clear ruby brown with a huge light tan head and nice lacing. Aroma of candy, caramel, molasses sugar, spice, citrus. Tastes medium sweet with medium/light carbonation sourness and a drop of crispy bitterness on finish. High carbonation, medium body, very thin for the amount of ABV, assertive alcoholic finish, a little sticky. Not bad but rather one-dimensional, and I’m not fond of the palate.
3.8Makea, kaunis olut.
3.4Bottle from Lidl - pours dark red/brown with tan/beige head. Aroma - toffee, sugar, nutty. Taste - caramel, dark fruit cake, yeasty. Nice
3.5Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, Belgian yeast and fruit.
Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ree/brown beer with a slight/medium beige head.
Taste/Palate:
Medium sweet with malts, caramel, Belgian yeast and fruit.
Overall:
This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Nothing really to write about to be fair, just an average dark Belgian Strong Ale.
3.5Monumentális, hosszan tartó bézs hab, sötétbarna, vörösbe hajló szín. Erősen fűszeres, karamellás, gyümölcsös beütésű illat. Nagyon picit édeskés, karamelles ízvilág, fűszeres, komlós felhangokkal, kis égetett cukros beütéssel. Testes sör.
3.1Bottle of 33cl, in a Trappist glass; room-temperature.
We’re in front of a dark red-brown beer, with a light fizzy head. The aroma is nut and yeast, The aroma is chocolate and yeast, sweet but deep.
Nice one, but usual.
3.4Pours a hazy red-amber colour with a beige fizzy head that disappears rather quickly leaving no lace. Nutty nose with dark fruit aromas and some brown sugars. Raisins, dates flavours with some nuttiness in the middle and pretty solid bitterness in the finish. Lingering roastiness and hints of caramel. A good Belgian strong brown beer.
3.5Marrón rojiza, muy abundante espuma ocre. Aroma a levadura, lacteo. Notas malteadas.
