We did this stout with Hunter & Sons and Round Hill Roastery of Bath, England. They brought the coffee. We brewed the beer. A fruity, floral Ethiopian Sidamo Dimtu in a chocolatey, roasty stout.

Black color with a tan head, moderate retention some lacing. Aroma has roasted notes with a high presence of black chocolate. Flavor is slightly bittery, notes of black chocolate, slightly Bourbon. Alcohol perfectly hidden by chocolate notes in the final. Smoothy and creamy mouthfeel.

3.9Pitch black color. Big green pepper, roasted malt and dark chocolate, slightly sweet nose. Slight tart, green pepper, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel and mushrooms. Slight sweet but enough roasted malt character to balance things out. Alcohol super well hidden. The green pepper character is really standout and amazing

4.2Draught at OMBF, September 2017. Thick body, creamy mouthfeel, lots of high quality chocolate, lots of cocoa, underlined roast, subtle oak, hint of vanilla. Great flavour depth, amazing balance, none of its constituent parts is overwhelming. I didn't get the blueberries but that didn't matter - this is an absolutely amazing beer.
3.7Runder, malzig-schokoladiger Antrunk. Moderat fruchtig, alkoholisch, wenig Kaffee, viel Schokolade. Intensiv, langer Nachhall, gut. 10/11/12/12/9/11

3.8Rating #2000. Darkest brown without head. Aroma is hazelnut, coffee, dark chocolate, roast, dried leaves, brownies. Taste is coffee bitterness balanced with less dark chocolate sweetness. Almost oily on the tongue, alcohol is a tiny bit harsh. Still quite smooth. Phenolic finish. Quite complex. I think the abv kills a bit of the potential.

Smooth coffee is this Ethiopian variety, smooth and chocolatey but with a somewhat floral earthiness as well. Interesting stuff.
