Dugges Kals Stout

Dugges Kals Stout

4.3 Oh. Which beer I just say. Smells a bit. The taste, however, is what makes this beer so good. Very tasty. Not at all dry which is good. A little metallic taste, I know. The aftertaste is left long and consists of a lot of coffee flavor. Good as hell! This I will buy more times. For those of you who did not know it is the Stout Day today.
2.4 @ Basunen: En lite mild stout med tydlig mjölk, viss ton av kaffe och choklad men mycket diskret.
3.0 Bottle. Quite OK. Light and quite uninteresting. Chocolate, licorice, milk and coffee bean notes.
2.3 Bottle @ Home, courtesy of Aaron, Thanks. Pours hazy dark brown with a fading offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, dark fruits, caramel, sugar. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, licorice, dark fruits, sugar. Thin body, very high and aggressive carbonation. 110712
2.7 Bottle @ Rene’s house from a generous Swedish trader. Thanks! Deep brown appearance with a very aggressively carbonated, light brown head. Earthy, dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso aroma. Overly carbonated. Dark chocolate, light anise, roasty, a touch charred flavor. Ok beer, but the carbonation is fucked up.
2.5 this might just be the worst stout from sweden I have tried. very uninteresting
2.6 Bottle. Muddy brown color, no head. Aroma of vegetables and coffee. Taste is mud and cardboard. A bad batch? An old bottle? Not sure, but certainly not in line with other fines beers I’ve had from this brewery.
2.3 500mL thanks to Travlr. Muddy mahogany with tan bubbles. No retention. Sour nose with spoiled dairy and mild dark cherry. Some milk chocolate. Taste is seltzer and drained with no body. Odd gritty powder and raw spiky earth. Very bad. Nasty.
1.5 Light roasty aroma. Black/brown with a decent off-white head. Light with hints of browned hamberger meat...odd?
3.5 Black with a brown head - nice malt aroma with some roasted notes - good malt body with some bitterness from rosted malt - nice beer
3.3 Bottle at RBNAG-11. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, caramel. Flavour is coffee, roasted malt, hop, caramel. OK/Nice beer.
3.5 50 cl, bottled. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma: Toasted malt, berries, oat. Milk chocolate. Taste: Medium sweet, acidic tone, citric. Faint bitterness. Coffee. Palate: Medium body, smooth, hoppy dryness. Pretty easy and good stout.
3.8 50 cl from gnoff. Jet black with light tan head and lacing. Aroma of licorise, smoke, and a hint of blackberries. Very smooth, fairly light body, with earthy taste of dark chocolate and some fungal notes. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Nice complex beer.
3.4 Bottle. Dark brown with a small head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Flavour of coffee and roasted malt.
3.5 50cl bottle. Black colour with minimal off-white of big bubbles that quickly diminishes. Aroma is toasty, roasty, strong licorice and slightly spicy. Flavour has burnt heavy malts hints, strong licorice, dark coffee and a final wooden and bittery with a moderate persistence. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily.
3.1 500 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on January 21. Pours yellowish dark brown with a mocha head that quickly dissipates while leaving some lacing on the glass. Smell is dominated by roasted malts combined with a slight acidity with some coffee and bitter chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet and quite malty with roasted malts, coffee and some liquorice. Mouthfeel is slightly watery. Finish is short lived, slightly dry and slightly bitter. Not very exciting but still quite drinkable.
3.8 Bottle @ Schouskjelleren RBNAG-11. Dark amber body with a big beige head. Aroma is mild roasted malt, chocolate, and fruity hops. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dry fruit and balanced bitter. Fine body and aftertaste. A very pleasant traditional stout that’s really easy to drink a lot of.
3.0 No head. Black with plenty of bubles. Hoppy nose with a little bitter chockolate. Medium.body and length. Bitterchockolate, dryness, light watery. But very drinkable.
3.6 Bottle. Dark, dark brown, with a beige head that fades to a ring rather fast. Aroma is burnt. smoke, coffee and chocolate. A hint of floral and herbal hops. Loads of burnt malts in the flavour, but with a decent caramely and toasty malt sweetness to balance it out. Sort of dry, a little ashy. Mouthfeel is medium, not the full, thick creaminess I was expecting from an oatmeal stout. It does have great drinkability for this style though. A good, medium abv stout, could easily have more of these in a row.
3.2 Flaske 0,5l fra Systembolaget i Kiruna. Dukket hjemme 12 Sep 11. Svart. Luftig svakt farget skum som varer en stund. Svakt røstet aroma med innslag av kaffe. Lite kullsyre. Smaken som aromaen med tillegg av lakris. Lett drikkelig. Tørr fruktig ettersmak. Mye bunnfall.

3.1 Bottle. Pours an opaque blackish color with red notes and a beige head. Aroma is of roasted malt, dark fruits and oats. The flavor is follows the nose with roasted malt, cocoa, oats and dark fruit. The body is medium with a dry mouthfeel. Overall an ok Oatmeal Stout, but it could have been done much better.
3.7 Bottled. Dark brown head with a light red gleam. Small fluffy brown head. Aroma of roast, sweetness, caramel, spice, light liqourice. flavour of roast, coffee, sweetness, carmael and liqouircie. LIght toffee. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a light sweet roasted bitterness. Nice and easy to drink.
