Dundee Oktoberfest

Dundee Oktoberfest

For thousands of years, fall has been a time of plenty ~ plenty of food and plenty of good brew, carefully crafted in anticipation of one heck of a party.

If summer is exercise, bikini diets, and baking in the sun; fall is recliner Sundays, cheese in a can, and basking in the glow of a robust, flavorful brew like Dundee Oktoberfest.

So in the fall, be full-bodied. After all, as much as we love bikinis, there is a lot to be said for cheerleader sweaters. 15°

3.4 Full bodied mouthfeel. Amber-golden color. Very typical Oktoberfest. Nothing special but a good overall märzen beer.
3.6 As someone who isnt as in love with many Oktoberfest fans here, I did enjoy this. Probably on par with Sam Adams Octoberfest. Has a nice strong taste to it, hints of caramel remind me of fall even though I had it now while we are at the end of December.
2.6 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of cascading foam finely sized bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent light cola brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was woody with a Vienna malt backing. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of Vienna malt mild hops and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.
2.6 Bottle pours like a amber or so thin head semi waterery taste little fizz little sticky. Smells tastes caramel hay malt sweet small bit of spice. Not bad but not that good either. Has a small metallic taste lots of the Dundee has. Cheap beer with a little flavor. I guess that’s ok right you get what you pay for ?
3.6 The beer poured amber with a thick head. It had a neutral but malty taste with slight carbonation.
3.1 Clear caramel brown color with a reddish tint and a small light tan head. Nutty spicy malt aroma. Roasted caramel flavors with a nutty, spicy undertone. Creamy but slightly watery palate with light carbonation and a smooth, roasted malt finish. A pretty decent Marzen.
2.6 Great head with okay lacing. Average amber color, clear. Very mild aroma with a slight nutty hint. The taste was a little soapy tasting. A hop bitterness that was not a very good balance to the style. Smooth mouthfeel that lingered slightly. Overall an average to slightly below average Octoberfest.
1.2 Pours a light amber with a thick tan head. Active carbonation.Aroma of caramel and toasted malts. Taste is bread malts and caramel. Has a skunky and metallic taste. Watered down and boring. Never drink again
2.5 Bottled. Poured clear light-medium amber with a short-lived, but dense whitish head. The aroma picked up toasted pale and caramel malts with light detergenty accents.. not a lotta good going on. The flavor found similar stuff.. pale, caramel, and a touch of fruity malts on the toasted middle, with lightly bitter dryness around.. finished sweet and grainy. Lighter-bodied and a bit sharp on the palate.. moderate carbonation.. just not that good.
2.8 Strong smell of orange and pineapple light sweet. Ok session beer. No bitter a little watered down.
3.3 Light in body abd aroma. Mostly malty, medium amount of hops, but not overpowering.
3.0 the malts are standard but they are not the over devlop flavro to whata marzen beer should taste like. hops are nn]ot in this beer yet it makes for a fine drink
3.1 From a bottle. Not one of my favorites but not bad either. Nice aroma and appearance. Sweetish taste of dried apples but it lacks true punch. An average but highly drinkable fall offering.
2.3 Bottle. Syrupy barley malt aroma. Amber color with large head. Sweet corn syrup barley malt flavor. Not horrible but not great.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a clear dark cola color with a thick tan head. Aroma is that of pumpkin and spice and sweet potato. Has a smoky flavor with hints of spice and hops. Has was warm, roasted nut finish.
2.5 Pours a crystal clear light amber with light head. Surprisingly decent brew compared to their others...but no, I will not consume again.
2.9 Nothing offensive about this beer. Has a pleasant brown sugar sweetness, some light toffee and caramel in the aroma. A pleasant appearance. Lacks body, however, and doesn’t manage to distinguish itself from better offerings.
3.6 Pours amber-red with a short, off-white head. Scent is bread heel, toffee, caramel. Taste is bread, malty, nutty.... A decent, solid Oktoberfest. Dundee brews some good stuff, cheap, but good...underrated.
3.1 Bottle. Dark amber pour with a short, dense beige head. Aroma is caramel, sweet malt, light spicy hops and hints of toffee. Taste is dark bready malts, sweet malt, big caramel, light toffee, hints of dark fruit and grassy notes. Body is medium with a strong, prickly carbonation. Finishes with more caramel, chewy malt, toasted bread, toffee and spicy hops.
3.0 Reddish-orange with somewhat small head and average lacing. Malty aroma with a hint of fruit. Mildly sweet, bready flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Quaffable, if not outstanding, Oktoberfest.
3.4 Pours a clear dark red orange color with thin white lacing. Slightly musky aroma with hints of hay and straw. Malty palate with a smooth creamy finish. I feel that for the price this beer is well worth it. Not the best Oktoberfest but certainly better than many others.
2.8 bottle - Pours lightly hazy amber-orange with a small off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malt with maybe a hint of fruit. It tastes of sweet caramel malt and not much else. It’s light to medium bodied and drinkable enough, but not work seeking out.
1.6 Appearance is translucent copper-amber with a thin beige head, slightly sticky medium body, and medium carbonation. Aroma has some dark-roasted grain astringency, fruity esters, and a slight sour note. Smells like a lot of pale malt colored with a handful of black malt. The flavor follows suit, with some pale malt sweetness and hints of dark-kilned malts, but not much in the middle. It’s rather estery as well. Overall, it just lacks the crispness and clean malt and hop profiles that make German beers so great.
3.4 Medium amber color. Medium carbonation and a soft mouthfeel. Caramel notes cut with a slightly tart/bitter finish. Pleasantly balanced, in a malty kind of way. Hint of vanilla?
3.2 This pours a very nice redish brown with a minimal head. The beer is very fizzy and tastes mostly of malts.
3.1 12 oz bottle pours a dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma - Sweet toffee malt with a hint of iron metal and fruit. It has a good malt flavor with a slightly sweet finish which I enjoyed.
3.1 Bottle purchased at Consumer’s Beverages Niagara Falls. Pours a reddish brown with a white head. Islands of lacing here and there. Wouldn’t say I’m getting much in the scent department. Taste is light, sweet. There’s a little grain in there. Tiny bit bitter on the finish.
3.0 Bottle:   Translucent amber, slight copper tinge, large frothy head, spotty lacing, lively carbonation.   Looks somewhat similar to the Leinenkugels Oktoberfest I had just before this.   Soft malty nose, very faint hay/straw and even some caramel.   Somewhat of a dusty malty start, very soft sweetness.   Backside is a little sticky, somewhat hangs out on the tongue.   Nothing off about this one, just light and perhaps a bit aged in his nose and on the tongue (the musty/dusty part).   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Yeah, just a pale malty beer with some flavor that is just enough to make it interesting, but not enough to make it memorable.
2.7 It poured a clear orange color with a small beige head. The aroma was of toasty malt and caramel. The flavor was mostly caramel with a hint of hops.
