Dunham Black IPA

Dunham Black IPA

3.9 Black colour with some tan head. Chocolate and roasted aromas. Taste is roasted malts with a strong bitter hop punch. Very nice
3.4 Draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Black with a thick tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, citrus and light fruity hops. Flavour is light moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. [17-09-2016]
3.9 Bottle from Saveur Biere. Black with a lasting brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and moderate hoppy - pine. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 210916
4.0 Tap at Moeder Lambic, 15th September 16. Pours black, neat head. Aroma is chocolate malt, bitter hop, citrus, grapefruit. Excellent BIPA
3.4 Bottle 34.1cl. Poured into a chalice. Opaque dark brown, tall creamy tan head, half-way lasting, heavy lacing; aroma roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, dried leafs; taste in the onset medium sweet and bitter, middle part dominated by roasted malts, bitter chocolate, chalky, spicy notes; dry bitter aftertaste, lingering roastiness, chalk and ashes; medium body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation; not a bad beer but for a bipa I miss the hops and way too roasty for the style.
3.6 Trübes sehr dunkles braun mit durchschnittlicher, fester Schaumkrone. Malzig, Röstaromen, Kaffee, Bitterschokolade, leicht fruchtig, Zitrus, sehr trocken, bitter.
3.4 Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, full sized light brown head that lasts for quite a long time. Aroma is malts, dark malts, roasted malts, smoke. Tastes the same: malts, dark and roasted malts and again some smoky influences, hop bitter, malt bitter. Overall it’s too malt-forward and bitter and that smoky hint also is not what I really want to taste in a black IPA. Decent beer, but not great as a Black IPA imo.
3.6 Bottle 341ml, a dark beer with huge brown head and nice lace work. Nose is on hop resin, toasted caramel. Aroma is on dry black coffee, dark chocolate, very roasted, between oily and creamy texture, long roasted aftertaste, dry, ashes touch, hops part is low for a black ipa.
3.3 Bottle. Almost black. Citrus in the roasty, Fairly dry flavor. Licorice. Malt and licorice in the aroma. Tart, roasty, pleasant.
3.8 341ml bottle from Saveur Biere. Pours black in colour with a light brown head leaving lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate, roast, hoppy. Taste is roasted malt, rich chocolate & coffee, liquorice, with citrus & pine hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.
3.6 Pours an almost black color with hugue off-beige head. Aroma has chocolate, coffee and toffee, with citrusy notes and tropical fruits. Taste follows the aroma, chocolaty, coffee, resiny, citrusy and piney, with slightly tropical notes and a very intense bitter aftertaste.
3.3 Botella 33 cl tomada en el momento en el Lupulo 12..04..2016. (r140).
3.8 On tap at BBF. Black colour with beige head. Roasted aroma. Fruity, hoppy taste with roasted finish. Medium body.
3.9 Bottle 34,1cl / Botella 34,1cl. @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, España. A: Black / Negro. T/S: Hops, roasted malts, nuts, citrusy / Lupulo, malta tostada, frutos secos, citrico.
3.9 Bottle. Black with a large light brown head with good retention and lace. Hoppy nose: Citrus, pine, chalk, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavour follows: Citrus, pine, minerals, twigs, roasted malt, chocolate. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, mild sweet, solid bitter. Dry hoppy finish. Good.
3.1 Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver Dark color, near black, with compact tan head. I don’t appreciate the aggressively burnt character, very ashy, palate wrecker, graceless, but behind that there is a nice robust hopping. Just burnt malt in the final. I wouldn’t enjoy drinking more than a few ounces. Excessive.
2.8 Black, dark beige head.Vague nose.Palate of vague roast and bitter hops. Needs more roast for style
3.6 Bottle shared. Fresh piney hops nicely balanced with a rich dark malt base, round mouthfeel, dry hoppy finish. Another tasty one by this solid brewery, never shy on hops.
3.8 12fl oz bottle from Vivalabirra, Oviedo. @home 23-12-2015. Bottled:12-03-2015. In short: roasty bitter dark ale. Pours black with rocky tan head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Roasty, coffee, herbal nose. Medium body, average carabontion, crispy texture. Taste is balnced towards the hop side, quite bitter, some roasty, coffee, herbal notes. Dry and bitter aftertaste. Good.
4.0 Dark brown color with medium brown head. Aroma is really nice, dark roasted malts, caramel and some earthy hops that integrate very well. Taste starts quite roasty up-front, also hoppy, nutty, good amount of bitterness. Finish is even more bitter and roasty. Aftertaste is bitter, even a bit ashy and dry. Body is quite light, making the beer easy to drink. Really nice one overall, tasty and very easy to drink.
3.8 Botella de @Vivalabirra, Oviedo 29/11/2015. Bottled: 12/03/2015 Color negro, espuma beige, sabor torrefacto, herval.
3.8 8th October 2015 42nd Floor Tasting. Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, mellow roast. Light cream. Good piney hops, hop spice. Smooth finish brings a touch of dark chocolate. Smooth and nicely integrated.
3.9 black with a large head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and pleasantly harsh hops. Very flavourful, with bitter hops and harsh, burnt roasted malt. Dry, with a very bitter hoppy finish. Waouh!!
Chouette
3.7 Bottle share at the 42nd floor tasting, thanks to Kenny. 5.7%. Black with a red hue, huge foamy brown head. Aroma is redcurrant, coffee, light fruits. Very nice aroma. Body is light, tingly carbonation, a little foamy. Taste is coffee, pine, twiggy with an earthy finish. Nice black IPA.
