3.9Draft. Clear brown body, thick off white head. The aroma has sweet apple and pear. The taste is like apple pie. Very smooth palate and quite sweet.
3.3The Well, Brooklyn tap: pours gold with white head. Aroma is herby, straw, tad spicy. Taste is dry and lightly bitter. It has a certain butterscotch undertone. Not bad, but not my favorite kind.
3.5Draught. Pours clear yellow-gold with a medium, fluffy white head. Aroma is earth, pepper, and bubblegum. Taste is pepper, earth, yeast, lemon, lychee, light bubblegum, and a small amount of grain. Light body. Low carbonation. Silky slick mouthfeel.
3.3Draft at Vices et Versa, Montreal. Hazy yellow, white head. Fruity aroma with citrus and lemon. Taste is citrus, lemon, spice, Belgian yeast, white pepper, herbs.
3.8Clear golden. Towering white froth persists for quite some time before settling into a tight and pasty covering. Expressive nose of airy, plastic-y and white peppery phenols, with notes of dandelion, gum, lychee, apricot, flower petals, grapefruit, orange zest and lemon. Mildly sulfurous as well. Fluffy and plentiful carbonation. Pepper-charged phenolics are quick to commence, as a surge of kumquat and lemon establishes balance and a juicy fullness. Refined pils malt lends considerable softness along with a toasty scratch akin to baguette and over-dried hay. A vivid spicy bitterness emerges from the moderately herbaceous hop signature, as the citric qualities increase in their vibrancy with a lemon balm effect which imparts contrasting luster. An orange zest characteristic creeps in with a bit of brashness alongside the resinous acidity, however. Remains unabashedly yeast-driven, though, with potent medicinal phenols and pepper adding to the vivacious mix. Not at all hollow, however, as the malt is very well-extracted and replete with body-aiding grip. Perceptible astringency results from a meatlike yeast note and overstated citric hops which throw a bit of resin and consequently mar the body’s otherwise lovely airy weightlessness and clean attenuation. Closes bitterly citric, yet faintly sprucelike and herbal, with a pillow of pils malt sealed with a black pepper fervency. A nice little brew this is. It’s a full-on phenol bomb, although it does lean toward the new world a bit more than I prefer. If they cleaned up the resin by abandoning the American hops and going all-noble, this would probably be a 4+, because the brewers obviously know how to create soul and balance and bring out all the beauty in their pils malt. A quality example. Now I just wish they would put a bottled-on date on their bottles.
4.2Pours a pale yellow with thick white head. Hops and maybe some old fruit in the aroma. Taste is strong fruit - sour apple and unripe pineapple. However, alcohol and bitterness also prominent. Hops dominate the finish. Great little sleeper pick.

3.8Brasserie Dunham _Saison Rustique_ Saison at 6% ABV 22 IBU _(C$8.62 at NLC Stavanger, 750 ml, no bottle date or best before, acquired 25-Feb-2017, reviewed 2-Mar-2017)_
Appearance: hazy straw with one fat finger of fluffy white head, excellent retention and chunky lacing. (5/5) Aroma: coriander, white pepper, lemon zest, yeast, light funk. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter, light funk. (7/10) Palate: Medium-light body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lightly funky finish. (4/5)
A pleasant and quaffable Saison, despite the ABV tending slightly to the high side. Definitely worth looking for. (15/20)

2.5750 mL bottle. Bought @ NLC. I’m not the biggest saison fan - I think I don’t mind this because it’s not the craziest saison.
3.7Tap sample at Birreria Volo. Light golden-amber with large off-white foam, head retention excellent. Moderate sweet farmhouse aroma, citric, perhaps apricots and... I can’t tell. Good. Tastes dry, fruity, clean and fresh. Carbonation zingy but not too active nor big-bubbled. Compared with Saison du Pinacle it’s obviously a lesser one but it’s still very fine.
3.8Bottle shared at Ratebeer awards show. 30/01/2016. Huge thanks! A translucent yellow straw coloured pour with a thin white head. Aroma is zesty pithy lemon, straw, alcohol, raw grains. Flavour is composed of floral lemon, light pithy citrus, tangy, straw and earthy grains. Palate is grainy, highsh carbonation, . Assertive citrus lemon hop bittermess. good.

Clear orange beer, small creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: little funky, grains, fruity, little wild, sourish, some malts, cow stable, bit herbal, peppery. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty hoppy start, grassy, little sourish, hoppy and herbal. Aftertaste: bitter, herbal, grassy, citrus, some grapefruit, very bitter and dry finish.
3.7750ml capped bottle pours a hazy golden orange color with 2 fingers of white head with good retention settling to leave some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus with some tropical fruit and herbal notes. Taste is a fruity and malty sweetness with a herbal bitterness, a light lemon tartness and a spicy yeast finish. Medium bodied with abundant carbonation that pleases the palate. Overall, a very nice brew that suits the style well, being not overdone with a nice balance in body and flavour. Recommended.
3.7Bottle at hotel in Geisfeld. Cloudy orange gold colour lasting white head. Hoppy aroma grapefruit. Lots of tropical fruit. Some saison character but mostly its mango passionfruit juice. A little dirty funk on aroma and flavour. Good.
3.5Clear pale yellow with fine carbonation and a thin white foam. Grassy aromas and flavor. Natural spice from the yeast. Light body with a mild hay after taste. Thanks Steve for this one!
5.0Draught at Birrerria Volo. Pale yellow with finely bubbled white head. Light warm aroma of lemon and straw and some Brett, hint of something sweet like bubblegum perhaps. Extremely smooth mouthfeel. Mildly sweet lemon and straw, again with that trace of bubblegum (this sounds like it might be gross, but it’s awesome).
2.5Based on the other ratings and comments I really think something was wrong with this bottle, or it was too old, or something. Yellowish body, white head. Looked okay. But the taste and aroma were I guess a touch of lemons, funk, but quite off-putting. Very dry. None of the spices, yeast, or flavour that other people have described.
3.8750ml bottle at Rate beer best. Pours out a golden topped with a fluffy white head. Nose is bread malts some light yogurt tartness fruit esters and some spice. Taste is more of the nice malt note light tartness and fruit maybe a little tropical.
3.5Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is bit aromatic, malty, rather bitter Taste is full, malty, bitter, rather aromatic hoppyness.
3.8Bottle from Steve. Pours a hazy pale orange with a wispy white head. Tart lemon lime and hop aroma. Light malt, tart citrus hop taste. Very tasty and pairs well with a big meal.
3.8750 mL bottle poured. Thanks to mcberko for the bottle! Cloudy yellow pour with a rocky foam head. Soft straw and Belgian like aroma. Flavor is slightly tart, cool Belgian like character. Refreshing farmhouse. Slightly funky. Citrus. Tough to describe but easy to enjoy. Solid beer here.
