"Dry Hopped with Sorachi Ace. 2013 Selection"

3.7 From Belgium in a Box. In Teku glass. Playing Magic 2015. Very foamy, requiring 2 pours. Although I usually enjoy Sorachi, in this case Ive found it a bit cloying, making the brew below the normal Duvel

Smelll: grassy and small lime hint notes, yeast. Boozy finish. Taste: medium body with good grassy and small lime hint hops. Dry finish and boozy. Alcohol. 3.5 Bottle split at CBC Clerko tasting, thanks to Brian, 07/07/16. Pale yellow with an off white head. Nose is light skunky hop, straw, lemon, grains, yeast esters. Taste comprises bitter orange, white pepper, grass, punchy Sorachi tones, spice, toasted grains, lemon rind. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Ok Sorachi affair.
3.5 Bottle 0.33l at home Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Thanks to Zlotta for finding this in Mitra. 24.09.2016. Taste as Number Three with Vlada Ciaoooo and Jelena. Pour it hazy yellow color with medium white head. Aroma sweetish Belgian yeast, eucalyptus herbalish kind of rosemary. Taste sweetish, nice Duvel note, Sorachi Ace really present, fizzy carbonation, medium body, long finish with herbalish feel, not my favorite thing maybe. OK
3.8 Rami Rami is drinking a Duvel Tripel Hop #3 - 2013 by Duvel Moortgat at PowiśleTaka citra na sterydach, mega swiezy cytrynowo. Ewidentnie jedna z najlepsiejszych (najlepsiejsza?) weRsji. Bardzo rzeska i lekka, prawieIPA Ocena potraktowana skryptem do przeliczania ocen (uzgodnienie UT/RB).
3.7 Bottle (as Duvel Tripel Hop 3, from saveur biere). Pours yellow with huge whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is Belgian yeast, fruits, citrus, lemongrass, spices. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, citrus, some malt, some alcohol. Finish is citric bitter. Overall: very good, but not among the best of tripel hops.
3.1 Bottle share at Craft Beer Co Islington as ’Duvel Tripel Hop #3: Sorachi Ace’, 9.5%. Many thanks to Bryan. Yellow with a slight haze, sparkling, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is pear, melon, some lemon. Body is quite foamy with soft carbonation. Taste, like most of the others in the series, is dry and spicy with plenty of drying booze showing up, some pear maybe differentiating it, but otherwise it’s a spicy booze bomb. (3.1)
Sehr trockener Abgang. Sehr gutes Bier.
3.5 Bottle at fins 3 of 6 set... Golden yellow... Big white head... Soft dry floral fruit nose... Zezty bitter herbal lemon
4.0 Kolor czysty z?oty. Aromat to poprostu Duvel wzbogacony akcentami owocowymi, s? pomara?cze, brzoskwinie, morele, czarna porzeczka i odrobina cytryn. Nie jest intensywny jednak bardzo bogaty. Smak to ponownie, owoce i przyprawy pieprzno korzenne.
3.3 Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a Fruity spicy yeasty grassy hoppy aroma. Fruity malty spicy yeasty grassy bitter hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty hoppy bitter grassy finish.
3.7 33cl bottle shared at the July London Tasting @CBC Islington. It pours a clean straw color with a medium white head. Aroma is lightly funky and medium sweet and fruity with notes of persimmon and mango. Taste is also sweet and fruity with notes of mango, apricots, persimmon and caramel. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, tasty
3.2 Bottle at RB London Meet. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Sticky dill aroma with some fruityness. Medium-bodied. Fruityness, Duvel yeasty. Then Sorachi Ace quite dominating. Interesting combo...
3.4 Cloudy golden colour, large frothy white head. Citrusy hop aroma and taste with some lemon zest, lemongrass, freshly cut grass, dill, some bread. Medium body, lively carbonation, dry and pleasant hoppy finish.
3.3 Bottle sample at a tasting at zvsn’s place, from Duvel Tripel Hop Tasting Box 2016. Clear yellowish with nice white head. The aroma is perfumed with notes of herbs and ripe citrus. Bitter flavor with notes of citrus (orange, lemon), perfumed, a bit alcoholic, yeasty. Oily texture, medium-bodied. Good.
4.1 Tasting box n°3.
Geur: tropisch, passievrucht, amandel, vanille, mango, limoen. Smaak: bitterig, citrus en iets olie achtig, vettig. Goede koolzuurprikkel.
3.7 Bottle from Cork & Cask. Clear golden body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of chalk and herbs. Flavour of coconut, crushed paracetamol and hay. Medium body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. The Sorachi Ace is nicely integrated here - I’ve never been a fan when it’s used in single-hop beers.
3.3 How: Bottle. Where: Had at home. Appearance: Golden colour with a white head. Aroma: Citrus, malt, hops, yeast. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Yeast, caramel, some spices, hops, citrus.
4.2 tasting session@Au Grain d’Orge - clear golden-blond beer with a white head; hoppy aroma of lime, herbs and coconut; full-bodied, sweet and bitter, subtle and fair carbonation; long citrusy and blackcurrant finish
3.9 Bottle from the triple hop tasting kit. Golden body with large lasting white head. Aroma is sweet malts with fruity Belgian yeast and some coconut and hints of citrus. Taste is also fruity with coconut. Aftertaste is malty sweetness with some alcohol.
3.9 Bottle from Blind Tasting Set bought at Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is yellow/blond colored with a large white head and a lot of carbonation, very nicely done. There is an inviting aroma of grassy hops, suggesting grapefruit, lemon zest, light stone fruits and a little gentle spiciness. The taste is a delicious mouthful of juicy fruits and floral, grassy hops, supported by a solid malt base. There a flashes of pepper, that wake up your taste buds as the beer dries out really well, to leave a long, gentle bitter finish, which stays for a long time. Oke beer, but Citra and Amarillo were way better.
3.6 De 3e uit de Tripel Hop Tasting Box met Sorachi Ace als 3e hopsoort. Goudgeel helder, volle witte groffe schuimkraag.
3.9 0.33 l bottle from ’Mitra’ (Beukenweg, Amsterdam) as part of the tasting box, best before August 2017. Clear, pale straw yellow with a greenish touch and a massive, fluffy, stable, white head. Fruity-grassy, floral and slightly herbal aroma of lychee, ginger, lime and grapefruit. Slightly bitter, fruity-grassy, quite floral and a bit herbal taste of lime, lychee, ginger, lemongrass, grapefruit and fresh grass, followed by medium long, quite bitter, dry, grassy, a little yeasty and somewhat alcoholic finish. Medium to full (!) body, effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very good again, maybe the roundest version I’ve had recently. Seems to have a fuller body somehow as well. Overall the best version in my opinion.
