2.8 Piwo bursztynowe z białą pianą. W aromacie slodowy zapach, karmel. W smaku wytrawne, delikatnie wodniste, kukurydziano karmelowy smak. Goryczka zauwazalna ale raczej troche niska, ziolowo ziemista w charakterze
3.2 500 ml bottle. Slightly unclear brown dark red with a foamy head. Aroma is mostly nuts, dried fruits, grape juice, metal, citrus and caramel. Malty sweetness, metallic bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft soft carbonated, dry bittersweet malty finish. Decent, very Altbier like!
2.8 Dunkle, klare, rötliche Farbe. Süßlich, herb getreidiger Geschmack. Etwas Traubensaft. Deutlich bittere Noten, die nicht nur durch den Hopfen sondern auch durch die starke Röstung kommen.
3.1 14.09.2021 - 0.5l bottle from lidl in grenzach, bb 28.02.2022. pours a clear amber with a small head. aroma of caramel, nuts, wood, somewhat stale malts, as if it were past expiry date. flavour of wood, citrus, caramel.
3.5 Nice label design - a clean look while nodding to its heritage. I'm tasting Brexit, WWII and classic English hops! ;-) Reddish and clear, a pretty brew! Foamy off white head. Good retention. Fruity aroma.Berries. Initial sweet notes balanced refreshingly with some crisp hoppy bitterness on the tongue. Enough flavour to give something to chew on! Mouthfeel medium, soft carbonation. 5,2% rather than 4,7 as listed on ratebeer. I imagine the extra 0,5 ratchets up the flavour a little. Overall a pleasant, undemanding amber ale, one for the autumnal evening!
3.0 Me: "Lidl, give me an Altbier with a british name". Lidl: "Kein Problem Bruder".
3.2 50 cl. bottle @ Rick, Bought @ Lidl, Culemborg. Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Nutty caramel aroma with some faint English hops. Sweet taste with a medium bitter finish. Solid bitter.
3.0 Bottle from Lidl. Quite ordinary bitter, light caramel and metal on nose. Medium bitterness, bit of sweet caramel taste, light metallic finish. Okay
3.1 500ml bottle. Pours clear amber, off-white head of foam. Aroma of ryebread, nutty malts. Medium to light bodied, dark nutty malt appears to rule the overall character, gently sweet, nicely rounded. A good olde ale for a winters night.
3.0 Botella de 500ml de Lidl. Ámbar oscuro y efímera corona blanquecina. Aromas y sabor a malta y cereal, toques de miel y toffee. Cuerpo medio, final ligeramente dulzón y no demasiado amargo.
3.5 Old rating from 2014 - 500ml bottle, pours brown with a off white creamy head. Aromas & tastes of dark fruits, citrus, caramel, bread, toffee, honey, grain & malt. Medium body. Well balanced. Finish is slightly sweet malt & moderate bitter finish
2.9 Feb 2021. 500ml brown bottle, filtered, from a Marston's "Classic Ales" box bought at Sainsbury's for cheap. I like this. Malty beer which can hold its own with the Speckled Hen and, Tangle Foots. Pleasant buttery malt washed with cleansing hops. Yes, a little metallic, but it's a clean, refreshing, English hops metallic which I like. It's like an itch that generates interest. Yep. I'm OK with this. [3.1] Oct, 2015 500ml dark bottle, filtered, from Aldi. "Bombardier Glorious English" 4.7%. A new design and a lower strength (returning to 4.7). This is quite tinny, with a tinny aroma. Feels rather thin and cheap. English it may be, glorious it is not. [2.4] Aug, 2004 Pasteurised Bottle. BBE: April 05. (5.2%) A rather sober and serious beer. Woody, earthy bitterness. I have no favourable feelings toward this beer - neither this stronger version nor the cask version. I really don’t think I’m a fan of bitter hops. The buttery almond notes on the swallow are quite pleasant, but on the whole this is not my sort of thing. [2.8] June, 2004 Still from the bottle, but now I detect some character. The malt is sly, slipping around all over the place, but making itself felt now and again quite pleasantly. Upped a few points. [2.9] Oct, 2002 Pleasant, slightly fruity beer. Quite normal. Won’t pop it’s head above the bar to shout boo or offer to buy you a round. [2.7]
3.8 At home
2.8 Pours a clear amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of sweet bready malt, some raisin and slight vanilla.
3.9 500ml bottle brewed in England at 4.7%. Clear darkish amber with a neat head, shortish duration. Sweetish dough and strawberry aroma, faintly spicy earth character. Moderate+ carbonation, burgeoning mouthfeel. Brown bread crust and cookie dough meets cracker malt, a little hedgerow hops with a strawberry hint. Top-shelf supermarket classic, but for me, a little sweet.
2.8 Toffee, malt, sweetness. Nice amber ale in its class. Was 4.7% not 5.2%. 5.2% perhaps would be a better balance ?
3.3 Standard available amber beer, not super amber but not bad
3.6 Nothing out of the ordinary but it has a very nice taste. Great Amber beer!
3.4 5.2% alc, due date: 21 Feb 21 LA0021. Bought at Vrutak, Zagreb and shared with little Dina. Clear amber, small off-white head. Aroma is malty, hints of toffee, dried fruit, toasted bread and brown sugar. Flavour is bready, fruity, dried fruit, fruit jam, light earthy and herbal hoppy notes. Nice fruity and malty sweetness. Medium body. Light to moderate bitterness. Moderately lasting dry finish. A solid example of the style.
4.0 Although the bottle I had was aged you can smell the adjuncts of some sugar and a very pleasant maltiness and a hint salt or mineral scent is apparent. Hop aroma very subdued but enough to balance the malt on the palate. The minerality does give a pleasant aftertaste however over carbonation for an english ale has disrupted the mouth feel. It tastes better once the carbonation has effervesced off. Still I enjoyed the beer. Strangely very similar to a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale that has been aged.
2.7 Aroma : Strong sweet toffee maltiness, subtle hints of red fruit and brown bread. Taste : Body is on thin side of medium. Smooth texture. Light dry hoppy bitterness with an equally light sweet toffee malt background. O.K but nothing out of the ordinary; very average for an ESB
2.8 Bottles far better than draft.
3.2 Version 5.2 alcohol. Copper colored with excellent foam. Nose. Caramel, dried fruit, herbal flower hops Taste.Sweetish, caramel, roasted notes, black bread crust, shades of dried fruit. In the aftertaste quite strong bitterness. Nice fruity caramel, ESB
Malziger, schwach fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich betont malzig, leicht fruchtig, leicht hopfig. Mittlere Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure.
3.0 Deep amber pour, small white head. Very malty aroma with soft roasted notes. Taste is also very malty, strong body, with a little citrus sourness. Low carbonation and mild bitterness, a slight dry finish. Despite the body there is not much going on here flavour wise. I found it a little boring but perfectly pleasant and drinkable.
2.6 Pours an orange coloured beer with a thin white head Notes of citrus fruits and berries and malty taste
