Edge / Lervig Pure Decadence Imperial Stout

Developed over many trips to visit our friends at Lervig in Norway. This collaboration is dark & rich with a great roast, sweet flavor & alcohol back bone to balance it all out. Sit back enjoy and look down on it all with decadence.

Pachnie słodko i przyjemnie. W smaku najpierw kawa, palone słody, czekolada deserowa.
4.0 Tap at Artut Östersund. A glorious imperial stout. Fantastic look and foam. Dark and rosaty. Brilliant.
3.3 Kran, BGM6. Aromat czekoladowy, kawowy, delikatnie orzechowy. Do tego niestety alkohol. W smaku podobnie, alkohol wyczuwalny.
3.9 Bottle from catraio, Porto. Dark color. Thin brown head. Medium bitterness. Medium body. Aroma and flavour is chocolate, toffee, coffee, hops, pepper.
3.8 Black beer, small head, aroma is malt, roast, chocolate, coffee. Taste is the same. Dry bitter, sweet, creamy. Very nice
3.8 Tap at BPBW. Black colour, beige small head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, ashy. Taste is roasty, hoppy, bitter, coffee. Hoppy in aftertaste. Full body, average carbonation. Like BIPA, and really good one, nice hoppy.
3.6 Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, fekete szín. Kávés, csokis, aszalt fekete gyümölcsös illat. Csokis, kávés, kakaós ízek, aszalt gyümölcsös beütéssel és némi komlós fűszerességgel, valamint citrushéjas vonásokkal. Lágy, kissé fanyar, közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas, erősen keserű. Finom, jól összerakott sör.
4.2 AR: chocolate, coffee, nuts, caramel, vanilla, leather AP: pitch black TA: hops, coffee grounds, licorice, leather
CONCLUSION : très grand imperial stout. Et de pure décadence … oui, soyons conciliants !!
3.8 Black colour, medium brown head with long retention. Small lace. Aroma of chocolate, raisins, coffee, licorice, roasted malts. A bit weak. Medium to full body , creamy palate, good carbonation. Sweet chocolate finish. Taste of chocolate, coffee, dried fruits, licorice. Good.
3.2 Latte head that sticks about. Nose is lemony with hops and not much chocolate. A little coffee. Palate is weak. Moderate and watery. Taste is just too hoppy. There's coffee and a little sweetness but not much else. Hoppy finish that evaporates after overstaying it's welcome. Not really decadent. Just disappointing.
3.9 Chocolate, coffee, caramel, licorice and rosted malts in nose. Pours pitch black with tan head. Taste is sweet with chocolate, coffee, ash, caramel and licorice. Medium bitter finish, soft carbonation, full body. Overall very good sipper.
3.9 Bottle at home bought from honestbrew.co.uk. has some aroma of dark fruits and little coffee. A decent beer
3.8 Cafetosa y torrefacta. Alcohol bien integrado. Final seco. Buena. BOTELLA. BB 14/11/2020
3.7 Bottle. 10.3%. Best before 02.03.19. 10 cl. sample. Pours black with a tan head. Roasted aroma, hint of barbecue. Light notes of stale bread/cardboard, fruit in the background. Flavour is roasted, a bit fat, oily. Hint of cardboard. Same finish, with an alcohol burn. Overall good, well-balanced. 13.01.18.
3.7 Botella de Pinball. Black, light brown head, ok lacing. Sweet very well roasted maltiness in the aroma. dark fruits, chocolate, some coffee, alcohol. Roasted maltiness in the flavour, chocolate, dark fruits, soft, pleasant, bit coffee. Smooth and tasty.
3.8 very dark clear brown to black, smooth light brown head. aroma is hard roasted malts, coffee, bitter hops. strong aroma. flavor is roasted malts, coffee, a little sweetness, wood, bitter hops,
4.0 chocolate, coffee, black, rocky head, brown foam, very bitter, medium body, soft carbonation, astringent, bitter,
Textura oleosa. Aroma a malta torrefacta y licor.
3.9 Draft @ Beerfox Artisan Beer Bar, Riga. Pours dark brown, almost black with not that much carbonation, some foam still on top. Aroma is lightly sweet but not too much so, chocolate and cocoa powder, light liquorice. Tastes actually quite mellow and well balanced between roast and sweetness. More dry than I expected, so drinks actually really easy, dangerously easy. Good stuff.
4.2 Bottle, bought@Voldby Købmandsgård. Pours deep opaque black with a medium, initially fizzy beige head that settles as a firm creamy top. Aroma has lovely luscious chocolate, hazelnuts, vinious, softly roasted, some vanilla. Medium, fairly lively carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, a bit of plum, vinious, quite heavy astringent bitter finish. This is not for the lovers of big sweet stouts, as this is actually quite far from sweet. Great length in the aftertaste. Yum!
2.8 33 cl. bottle @ Home. Aroma: quite intense aromas of coffee, black chocolate, roasted malts, cocoa. Some subtle aromas of porto wine, burnt sugar, dark caramel, alcohol. Appearance: black color, too dark to talk about its hazyness. Brown head, very creamy, made of tiny to small bubbles. High head thickness. Extremely high retention. Medium Brussels' lacing. Taste: low to medium sweetness, medium bitterness, very low sourness. Flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, espresso, roasted malts, cocoa. Some vinous-alcohol nuances. Very light overtones of dark caramel, burnt sugar. Very well balanced. Many layers of flavors that work really well. Alcohol is noticeable in the flavor but not because of its throat warming effect. Palate: medium to high body, oily-silky texture, flat carbonation, very long medium dry finish of dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, burnt sugar, burnt caramel. Overall: very good appearance, aromas and flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, espresso, roasted malts, cocoa and some alcohol-vinous-porto wine nuances. Many layers of flavors. Interesting beer. I think it would be better without the alcohol overtones.
3.8 Pours black with a caramel tan head. Aroma sweet caramel, spice. Taste is sweet roasted coffee upfront, leading to a lovely rather sweet, dark, molasses, spice,, ending with an awesome fairly strong bitterness that lingers. Thicker end of medium bodied, one of the thinner imperial stouts I've had. Medium carbonation. Great stuff!
3.6 Good but not excellent. Smoked malt is dominating, in a delicate but rather straightforward way. Expected more.
3.6 Bottle. Aroma: strong aroma o roasted malts, alcohol, dried fruits, coffee, little solvent. Full body, huge roast and hoppy bitterness, alcohol could be more hidden. For fans of harsh and roasted IS.
4.0 Edge Brewing / Lervig Pure Decadence Imperial Stout Imperial Stout 848416 Lukt: Kaffe, bek, lakris, mørk sjokolade, vanilje. Utseende: Sort. Skum/kullsyre: Tynt skum., heng langs kant. 3.9 Bottle at home, 3rd September 17. Pours black. Aroma is ash, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is rich, sweet, cocoa, dark chocolate, ash, toasted malts. Good, maybe slightly sweet for my taste.
4.0 33cl bottle in Barcelona on 28-Aug-2017. Close to black in colour with a small beige coloured head which dissipated quickly. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Full body and soft/medium carbonation. Taste of smooth bitter dark chocolate, malt and coffee. Bittersweet rich finish. Collaboration with Lervig. Similar to Lervig's Konrad's Stout - less berries, more coffee. Lovely.
