Edge Padrino Porter

Edge Padrino Porter

Like "El Padrino" this beer is strong, reliable, smooth, and always looking out for you. Loaded with a wide variety of malts the result is a dark, smooth and truly drinkable porter. The hops are subtle but they let you know they are present.

3.4 Bottle shared at home. Pours deep brown, almost black, with thick head. Nose is chocolate, faint roasted notes, grains and some fruits. Taste follows the aroma, so far so good, but it’s sooo agressively carbonated that it ruins the experience. Otherwise it’d be much better.
3.9 Enjoyed at Pub Italia. Hazy dark brown colour, cola-looking, with a warm beige cap, average stay and minimal lacing. Beautiful maple syrup aroma with molasses, roasted malts and raisins. Bitter molasses flavour over roasted malts and not too sweet. A slight dry mouthfeel. Quite a nice porter with loads going on. Much truer to the style than their Saison I just had.
3.2 Bottled. The aroma has hops and malts, chocolate. The body has chocolate and coffee.
3.4 Dark brown beer, almost black. Medium head. Aroma is roast, malt, coffee, chocolate, some fruit. Taste is the same, bitter dry,. ok
3.9 Bottle at Pub Italia. Pours a massive frothy beige head and has a dark brown appearance. Thick sticky lacing. Aromas of cinnamon, earthy hops, smokey notes, hints of chocolate. Flavours of chocolate, coffee, some mocha notes, a bit syrupy and subtle maple like hints. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Quite good, would have again for sure.
3.3 Black colour, brown medium head with long retention, compact lace. Aroma is a bit smokey, chocolate, licorice, roasted malts, dried fruits. Medium body, creamy sticky palate, normal carbonation. Taste is also smokey, chocolate, dried fruits, licorice, coffee. A correct beer.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a black colour with a fluffy beige head, the aroma is all roasted malt with hints of chocolate, the taste is medium bitterness and rich and soft with a dry bitter finish.
3.4 Canette de 33 cL achetée chez V&B. Robe noire opaque avec une légère mousse brune. Arômes de caramel, malts grillés, réglisse, cacao. Texture huileuse, carbonatation moyenne. Notes de réglisse, caramel et malts grillés. Finale sèche portée sur le réglisse.
3.7 330ml bottle. Pours dark brown, big beige head, stays perfectly. Aroma is roasty, chocolatey, hints of vanilla, hoppy. Taste is chocolatey, hoppy, bittersweet, woody. Medium + body, average carbonation. Decent porter with nice hoppiness.
3.4 20180304 bebida en CraftBeer Sevilla. Nina textura sabor muy bueno, algo acuosa. Notas de cítricos (raro para una porter!)
3.4 Draft 0.15l at Vrteska festival II Belgrade, Serbia. Thanks everybody for sharing beers. 05.05.2017. Pour it dark color with small white head. Aroma chocolate and roasted malts. 3.3 Color negro con capa de espuma marrón de dos dedos de grosor (uena retención). Carbonatación suave. Textura acuosa casi oleosa. Aroma torrefacto y a café, algo plano. En boca mucho torrefacto, café, chocolate con leche. Final torrefacto y amargo. Seca. Postgusto a chocolate con leche y café. Algo típica pero disfrutable.
3.2 bottle at home. had for a while and didn't want to drink as it's my first time having a porter. This to me is rather strong and heavy. I'm finding it hard going
3.3 Slutty porter. Slick with bitter chocolate and a little roast. A mouthful without being overpowering. Dries out on the finish and this gives the beer some structural balance.
3.9 Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of roasted malt a metallic. Taste roast, burnt toast and Dark chocolate.
3.5 On tap at CatBar, Barcelona on 31-Aug-2017. Dark brown, close to black in colour with a medium sized beige head which settles down quickly. Aroma of roasted malt, cocao nibs and coffee. Full body and soft/medium carbonation. Taste is malt, bitter dark chocolate, dark fruits and a pinch of coffee. A pretty smooth porter.

4.2 Keg at Mad Squirrel, Wycombe. Black with a thick beige head. Lots of chocolate set against equally plentiful roasty malt. Simple but bloody good and bloody tasty. Perfect balance, incredibly drinkable (terrifyingly so for the high abv) and very more-ish. Loving it. Yay!
3.2 Botella. Deep dark brown colur, beige medium fairly well lasting head. Chocolate cacao sweet aroma with dark malt. Ok mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet with chocolate and dark fruit along dark malt, softly roasty. Bit thin body but good.

3.5 From 32 Great Power. In Teku glass. At dinner, with pizza + Playing 8 Bit Commando. Very roasted, with noticeable coffee and some chocolate notes. Nice but a bit more torrefact than I would like. 2 months before bbf date. Close to imperial porter
3.9 Aroma maltoso, apariencia negra opaca, sabor a malta, chocolate, algo de café, cuerpo medio.
3.6 330ml bottle from Simply Basic supermarket, Barcelona (€3.50): Quite a nice Spanish brewed porter & another cracking beer from Edge despite the fact it’s probably not the best style of beer to be drinking in the warm weather but is was still an enjoyable one. There was a nice malt bitterness to proceedings with a couple of hops sneaking through in the early going, mainly on the nose but some did show in the taste as well, albeit to a lesser extent. There was some solid roasted flavours with the odd alcohol grain appearing at times but it wasn’t an overly strong beer which meant it was a relatively easy one to drink & one of the better Spanish beers I’ve tried of late, although that’s not always saying too much I guess.
3.3 330ml bottle shared by Finn. Near black body. Remaining fawn coloured head, clingy lacing. Cocoa and chocolate on the nose. Roasted black chocolate flavours with a smooth dark fruity ending. Medium bodied. Nice and tasty. (Rating session with Finn and djoeye, Tromsø 18.05.2017).
4.2 33 cl. no bottling date. Ebony brew with a creamy disc of foam. Cocoa, graham cracker, caramel and a hint of char and ash in the aroma. Flavors of cocoa, blackberry, oats, cream, graham cracker and ash. Near-medium bodied, silky smooth with low carbonation and has a great balance.
