Eel River Certified Organic India Pale Ale

Eel River Certified Organic India Pale Ale

Brewed with the finest organic malts and hops, our IPA features a bright-minted copper color and a crisp, yet smooth hop bitterness. Pale and crystal malts come through with a malty caramel sweetness, balanced with aggressively clean burst of fresh hop flavor in the middle palate without lingering bitter astringency. A strong floral and citrus character from generous dryhopping blends with strawberry esters from our house yeast strain for an inviting and satiating aroma.

2.6 Looks just gorgeous. Nice orange pour with a big ol head. This would be a find in certain parts of the world but where I'm at it offer nothing. Stale. Bitter. Old. I don't see a date which why would I Brewer make the date it was bottled obvious!!!! No idea. Drinking old nasty beer will just drive people away from your brand. This I would drive away from. It's cold and looks nice. Needs live. Aroma. Flavor.
3.2 12 ounce bottle to wine glass A: light amber orange liquid, minimal white foam, lacing A: nose: hint of grains, drrink: no bold aroma T: medium bitterness MF: lively carbonation, log nice finish OA: good beer, ok to repeat, not to look for Drank: April 24, 2016
2.9 12oz bottle (Courtesy of Headbanger) poured into a Shaker at 42°. Color is a deep copper with a slight haze and good carbonation giving it a small white head. Aroma is a malty scent with caramel and fruit. It has a lighter medium body with a crisp mouth feel. Flavor is light, some grain and sweetness with just a hint of fruit, then a little hop spice and mild bitterness. After taste is dry as the bitterness comes out a little more. Overall it’s a nice pale just nothing special.
3.3 Bottle. Bronze in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of grapefruit, melon, and lager yeast. Flavors are of sharp bready malts, white grapefruit pith, and a bit of earth. Medium bodied with a lingering but pleasant bitterness. More pale ale than IPA in terms of hop level and balance. Decent.
3.1 From 385 ml bottle. Honey-Amber body topped off by a creamy lasting white head. Light aromas of sweet malt, orange and pepper. Taste is tropical fruits up front before a firm piney bitterness. Quite a clean finish with a light fruity aftertaste. All the elements seem fine but they don’t really mesh together.
3.6 Drank from bottle, in a car. Very hoppy Nose, hints of grain. Taste is also hoppy, with a slightly sour finish. Medium bitter finish. Average carbonation, medium body.
3.4 355 ml bottle, from the Danish importer. ABV is 7.2%. Deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of stale orange marmalade and hops. Hoppy flavour, piney and grapefruity notes. Reasonably bitter finish.
3.3 Bottle, 7.2%. hazy amber/orange with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel, hop, little grapefruit and old hop. Flavour is malt, caramel, hop, old hop, medium sweet and a little grapefruit.
3.4 Bottle. Hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malr, hops, fruit, caramel, citrus and bitterness.
3.4 Bottle from Toft Vin, Copenhagen - amber coloured pour with white head. Aroma and taste is pretty malt forward, caramel malty, with some supporting hoppy notes, light herbal, some pine needles, bitter hoppy finish.
3.3 Bottle, bought @YNWA Beershop, Kolding. Pours hazy golden with a small, staying creamy white head. Aroma has grapefruit, oranges, light vinious, some peach. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good malty notes, light warming, grapefruit, peach. Quite rough bitterness. A bit underwhelming.
3.4 12 oz bottle @ Real Food Daily, Pasadena. Hazy copper/amber color. Rocky almost white head, good lacing. Aroma’s: resinous, caramel, fruity. Flavor is moderate bitter, moderate sweet. Medium bodied. Long finish, light earthy, rather bitter. OK, perhaps a bit too long on the shelves?
2.8 Bottle. Pours Amber with a white head. Aroma of light hops, malts, sweet, light foral, light peach. Taste is mode rate sweet with a light bitter finish. Not enough hops, and Too much malts.
3.4 Bottle. Murky dark amber pour with small white head. Aroma is fresh with peach and citrus. Some sourness is sensed below along with a thin malt profile. Taste starts with a bitter kick but quickly becomes more round. High carbonation
2.5 From the bottle the pour is clear blond to brown in color with a thin white head, the aroma is rotated and malts, the taste is floral with a slight bitter finish
3.7 Sweet malt dominant - very sweet - can really taste and appreciate the Crystal - oily mouthfeel - hoppy finish giving decent enough end bitterness - pretty good but not really my sorta ale - I prefer a lot more hops and less malt.
3.6 Smooth and not very hoppy. Caramel malts with a creamy head. Light color but it's got substance
3.6 amber color; floral, citrusy hop aroma; floral, fruity hops with citrus notes on a fairly light, bready malt base; dry, bitter finish
2.7 Pours bright copper. One finger head with good lacing. Aroma is scarce citrus. Taste is roasty caramel with floral hoppy finish that doesn’t last long. Good lawnmower beer.
3.1 Bottle sampled at home from notes. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some citrus and resiny hops, a floral character that presents as soapy, pale toasted malts, a bit thin with light bitterness to the finish. I guess for an organic it is decent, but falls well short of even average IPAs.
3.3 12oz bottle 1/20/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-46° in Shaker-Pours a golden orange with a one finger off white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Taste of the same. This light to medium bodied brew is well balanced and is easy to drink.
2.6 Não é uma boa ipa. Não tem um amargor intenso e parece um pouco aguada. Não vale tomar novamente. Veio na assinatura mensal da Onbeer.
2.6 Orangey- gold color with a white head. Tropical fruit and candied orange aroma. Balanced flavors of malt and earthy hops. Medium bodied and a moderately bitter finish. Not bad, but rather average IPA.
2.2 Mediocre. As organic beers often are. Not quite enough kick or aroma. Still quite drinkable.
2.9 Pours golden orange with decent white head that fades to a rim and coating kind of quick, but laces nicely. Aroma is sweet-side citrus and some pine hops. Taste is low on bitterness. Some caramel malt, but mainly orange citrus. What bitterness there is comes through on the backside and does increase with warming. Not memorable, but quite drinkable.
1.9 This one tastes old. Was given to me as a sample bottle, really doesn’t have much of a hop profile. Toffee is all I get. And it’s hot. No good
3.0 Hazy Dark Orange Brown Color, Big Head, Decent Strings Of Lacing. Stale Hop Aroma. Slightly Sweet Malt, Stale Earthy Hops. Medium Body. Organic. Decent and Drinkable. No Dates, So It is A Mystery How Old it is. Just OK.
3.1 12oz bottle, but don’t know how old it was. This ipa kinda reminded me of an old school ipa: bitter, clean, not a huge amount of aroma/hop flavor, & dry. It was a decent beer.
4.0 Eel River Certified Organic India Pale Ale is not a bad example of the style. Nice floral aroma rising from a golden amber color with nice foamy head. Taste is also floral with moderate complexity and a slight pine finish. Eel River IPA isn’t necessarily a standout, but worth a quaff.
