3.1 Dunkles bernstein, feine Krone. Malzig-süßer Körper, relativ süffig. Gelungen.
2.6 The flavor starts out like the beer will be special, and then it fades away. Very drinkable none the less. Sweet light citrus hops.
Geschmacklich malzig, herb, bitter. Nicht viel Frucht. Durchaus recht erfrischend für einen Bock. Eine Art Export-Bier auf Steroiden.
3.1 From the green bottle. Attractive looking copper-amber pour with a quick lived white head. It smells like Euro-malts like caramel or something. Maybe floral. Enticing but it does not blow me away. Light to medium mouthfeel. Sweet caramel malts all around and a mild floral hop finish. It is basically a typical Euro-bock and it does not stand out.
3.5 Can from Total Wine in Palo Alto, CA. Aroma is golden raisins, malty, honey, herbal. Taste is malty, toffee, light sweetness like bread, mild herbal bitterness on the finish. Been awhile since I’ve had a malty German (albeit a mild one) and enjoyed this one! Added some ice Richard Pryor style.
3.0 As most Einbeck beers, also this one is quite sweet. It's not a bad beer but it also does not excell.
3.6 Clean copper pour, thin white head. Nose is carmelized malt. Middle is soft caramel, medium kilned malt, sage like hops. Finish is malty, thick, but not too sweet. Nice bock.
3.2 330mL can, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out caramel, toasted malt and some toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with herbal notes, toasted malt, and a little caramel. Very malty and herbal. Solid.
2.7 12oz can at Little Miss Whiskey, pours a clear gold, fluffy white head. Nose has malt, candy, yeast, butterscotch. Flavors are heavy with malt and candy corn and butterscotch. Sticky finish, medium bodied.
3.6 Skunky at first. Bready sweet malt with caramel notes. Metallic. Dark copper with a rocky beige head. Very malty with a lot of maillard character and sweetness in the middle, but a grainy tannic drying finish. Has the specialty malt top notes of doppelbock, but without the heaviness. Hops are discernible, but not bitter enough to balance the boderline cloying sweetness.
2.6 Riecht nach Muffhopfen. Helles Bernstein, filtriert, feiner Schaum. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig herb. Sehr Metallisch, etwas kräuterig. Langweile Aromen. Nichts besonderes
3.5 A little sweet. Honey and toffee notes. 1/2 liter at the Lizard
3.0 0.33 l bottle from 'Getränkeparadies Sauer', best before February 2020. Clear, amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently malty and slightly floral aroma of honey, grains and hints of straw. Gently sweet, malty, slightly bitter, a bit floral taste of grains, some honey, a touch of sultanas and traces of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and a little metallic finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent industrial Bock.
3.7 .33l bottle. Pours a nice amber with a big tight white head. Lacing. Big malt and bread scents. Toothsome rich malt backbone with crisp hops flavors following. Sweet and sour finish. Really very nice.
3.8 Taps clear amber with a thick ivory head. Aroma delivers sweet malt, apple, subtle caramel notes. Flavor yields sweet, lightly toasted malt plus crisp, tart apple, bitter woody hops, and a caramel hint. Texture offers firm, smooth body and peppy fizz. Prost!
3.3 Bottle. It pours a rich golden color with a nice white head. The aroma is a strong maltiness with notes of dark bread, toffee, and dark fruits. The taste is sweet and it is medium bodied.
3.7 Sampled at Brauhaus, golden color with creamy white head. Notes of german bread, dark fruit, grain, mineral water, plum, raisin, and spice. Medium to fuller mouthfeel. Tasty
4.2 Malty, grainy, sweet in the nose. The first sip is a little bit sweet and moderate bitter. A pronounced carbonat acid. At last a enjoyable sweetness.
3.2 Pours clear amber with a three finger, off white head. Aroma is caramel, faint roast and grass. Taste is honey and light citrus, moving to light roast, clove and building hops. Finish is smooth malt. A good maibock.
3.2 Rund malziges, angenehm weiches Bock Bier. Schöner, frischer, milder Mai-Bock!
3.5 Fles 33cl thuis. Bitterig, fris, drogig, fruitig . (4-2011).----------------.
3.2 Damp 29/4 2018. 33 cl bottle from Edeka, Damp. Straight green and Silver label. Little red shield with the logo of the brewery. Pours clear golden yellow with small white head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Aroma is malty and intense. Sweetish. Salty and grassy notes. Light metallic alcohol. Medium carbonation and slightly thick texture. Flavor is prominent. Strong malty sweetness which manages not to be cloying. Medium bitterness. Aftertaste is medium sweet with rough bitter notes and boozy alcohol. Potent Bock which gets to the point pretty fast.
3.3 Pours clear amber with a decent off-white head. Flavours are grain and malt, some booze, some malty sweetness. No bitterness. Good.
2.5 AR: slightly malty, herbal AP: clear dark golden, light amber TA: slightly malty, herbal
3.7 Bottle 33cl. @my mum's place served in a stem lager glass. Clear deep amber, tall frothy off-white head, good retention, fair lacing; aroma sweet toasted malts, caramel, grain, straw, hint of alcohol; smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, roasty, toffee, buttery; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, malty, bit buttery, alcohol notes; medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation; a round and tasty spring bock, good example of the style.
3.2 Deep golden colour, some foam. Clear, malty, bread smell. Some flower note, not bad. Note of cheap champagne in the taste. Average wet rug bitterness, very solid malty base, nice body. In spite of the green botttle does not smell of skunk.
2.4 Let metallisk aroma. Ellers malt. Bitter i munden. Uden større kompleksitet. Ok finish.
3.6 Aroma: malt, caramel, bread Taste: sweet malt and caramel, nuts, bread. Warming aftertaste. Good malty beer
3.6 Ar: Doughy, rich malt; some grassiness and dried flowers; slightly skunky; hint of rosy alcohol. Ap: Copper and clear; medium off-white head with nice retention, leaves a small but solid cap of foam with a bit of lacing on the glass sides. T: Rich, toasty malt up front; light sweetness, mingles with clean alcohol; dough and slight toffee; slight sherry; low bitterness; with a little herbal hop flavor; fermentation profile is clean, with an emphasis on the malt; finish is clean toast and a hint of sulfur and booze. P: Medium-full body with medium carbonation; very smooth and lush; finish is medium. O: A good rendition of a rare style; malty depth, clean fermentation profile, and some nice hop and alcohol accents.
4.1 Overall pretty good. Good malty character but a bit unbalanced. A little sweet
